The last THREE times we've gotten fries with our order they've been hard as rocks with very little "white" starch/potato to ne seen! We suspect they are re-dropping fries that have already been cooked because they're very hard and stiff... Owners, you need to fix this! Also, the younger dark-haired guy that works the register barely opens his mouth even when spoken to and gives annoyed all the time. It's RUDE... Today when I pointed out the issue with our fries he just walked off and didnt communicate what steps he was taking. He also didn't acknowledge the problem with any sort of explanation or remorse - the expectation for good customer service... I HATE going here now. If it wasn't for my sister going, they wouldn't see me or my money again until they start treating US and OUR money like it MATTERS. We deserve quality food and good customer service like anywhere else, BESSEMER. Oh, and let's not forget the overpowering bathroom-like air freshener that the owner has set up in the lobby. It stinks and is a health hazard for people with allergy and respiratory issues.

You can tell they don't just toss on sauce and call it a day. Every wing is juicy, well-seasoned, and completely satisfying. The burgers are also excellent. Big, flavorful, and done right. Unlike a burger I had here before (a long time ago lol), the ones I've had since aren't messy or falling apart halfway through eating. They're cooked well, hold together nicely, and actually let you enjoy the flavors without wearing half of it home. The sides and drinks take things to another level. The peach tea is smooth, refreshing, and sweet, sweet, sweeeeeeet. It pairs perfectly with the food. And the Cajun ranch cheese fries are incredible. Delicious fries, bold seasoning, creamy ranch, and just the right amount of cheese. They're SO addictive in the best way. On top of the great food, the people here truly make the experience better. Everyone is kind, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. You don't feel rushed or ignored. They take the time to make sure your order is right and that you're enjoying everything. Overall, this spot checks every box. Amazing wings, solid burgers, standout sides, great drinks, and friendly service. It's the kind of place you leave already planning your next visit

As for the food, the ribs though advertised as incredibly tender were good but didn't quite live up to the hype. They weren't tough, but they also weren't that "falling-off-the-bone" kind of tender many rib I look for. The baked beans were solid and flavorful enough to complement the meal. The fried okra had a great crisp texture, clearly fried with care, but it was missing any noticeable seasoning, which made it feel a bit flat flavor-wise. Overall, Big Doon's offers a friendly atmosphere and satisfying comfort food, though the kitchen could take the flavor up a notch to match the warmth of the service.

I decided to take him up on it because his talk was convincing. I made a pit stop there driving all the way from Washington, D.C. to Mississippi. Thankfully, it wasn't too far off my route. I thought I was going to walk into a restaurant, but it's actually inside a gas station. So definitely do not expect restaurant ambiance nor vibes. There's nowhere to sit to dine. Strictly carry-out. I ordered the hot lemon pepper wings meal since the staff said it's one of their most popular wings flavor. I must say the wings were not impressive to me. Perhaps I came at a bad night, but it was way too salty for my liking. I knew it would be hot, but it wasn't clearing my sinus type of hot. I know lemon pepper wings will be salty but more tangy due to the lemon flavor. It was so salty, I had to stop eating em. The fries, oddly, were under-seasoned. Thankfully, I had my own salt and added it to my fries so they were saved. The drink I ordered, a lemonade & fruit punch mix, was yummy. Would I go here again? Likely not. The wings were not impressive enough to go all the way to Birmingham. Hopefully, they can improve on the salt balance of the lemon pepper wings.
