How staff and management respond when one encounters "a hiccup" in the service, however, displays an even more important assessment. A "hiccup" occurred when my wife and I patronized our local Applebee's yesterday. We were delighted at how the staff, Vianca, and the manager, Megan, dealt with the "hiccup". Vianca immediately advised the manager; to our surprise Megan was at our table within five minutes to enquire what had happened, subsequently apologizing and offering several options to make up for our inconvenience.
