When one encounters good service in a restaurant, it clearly says a lot about good staff and, importantly, good management. How staff and management respond when one encounters "a hiccup" in the service, however, displays an even more important assessment. A "hiccup" occurred when my wife and I patronized our local Applebee's yesterday. We were delighted at how the staff, Vianca, and the manager, Megan, dealt with the "hiccup". Vianca immediately advised the manager; to our surprise Megan was at our table within five minutes to enquire what had happened, subsequently apologizing and offering several options to make up for our inconvenience. One of the worst Applebee's I've ever been to. My family and I went there in a Tuesday evening. There were literally 3 tables with customers and one person at the bar. Two tables were sat after us and we waited 45 minutes for our food. This was after the last 2 seated tables got their door (before us). I went to ask the manager (I assumed he was the manager since he had on a blue button down shirt) and he said they were waiting for my pasta. I had the 3 cheese Penne. My husband had the Mac and cheese and my son had a medium rare steak. Nothing that would account for 45 minutes of waiting. When my pasta came out, it was cold, these grated cheese on top wasn't even melted. My chicken was so dry and hard. I didn't even eat it. The waitress was really nice and I told her that it wasn't her fault. I was so upset and the staff were so dismissive. I don't think people realize that in this economy when everything is going up, except our paychecks, if we choose to dine out, we (or at least I) have high expectations. I'll never go to this restaurant again. We almost went to Chili's and I knew we should have. Applebee's, if you can't please your customers then maybe you shouldn't be in business anymore. I can get warmer food at the local gas station. Completely unacceptable and I will spread it by word of mouth to anyone that asks me. read more

This place is very nice inside. There are a lot of people here, great music and a bar area. Around the bar are TVs so you can watch tons of sports. Music playing is up beat. Staff was friendly. I was sat down immediately and the waitress was there to get my order. Wow, there are even plugins for laptops, so if so desire work and eat. The food was good, as far as service goes, the one girl that was working there did a great job. She was the bartender, she took all the orders in the place, she cleaned all the tables and wiped them down, and she seated everyone, she busted her ass all by herself. The management needs to pull her head out of their ass and give her some help. That was Friday at noon. There were about 12 tables with people at them and she did it all. We have tried this place three times and they have yet to get our orders correct. First time we ordered oriental grilled chicken salads. They came with crispy (fried) chicken and the wrong dressing. Second time the hamburger was raw; it was ordered medium. By the time this one order was brought back cooked right, the rest of the party had finished their meals. Today I took a friend for their birthday. Both meals were brought out cold, I suspect the meals had been sitting for a while because the waitress smelled of cigarette smoke. Also, our drink orders came late, and both were not what we ordered so we refused them. The drinks were included on the check, I had to have the check corrected. All three times we tried this Applebee's we went in the middle of the day when it was not busy. I am uncomfortable and do not want to try again. read more

I arrived at 8:30. Waited at the front to be seated for approximately 5 minutes. When no one arrived I sat myself at the bar. After 15 minutes I witnessed a manager walk by. After another 5 minutes I left. I have eaten at this establishment a handful of times and only once did I have what I consider to be Applebees quality service and food. At first glance, place was clean and not too busy. Most of the tables seated were in and around the bar area. Our server was the only person seen working the floor. Our group had 4 persons and fairly simple. Two in the group ordered drinks, with olives. After about 10 minutes the server returns with the drinks sans olives. The server advised they had been out of olives apparently, unknown to him. We ordered our food and appetizers. After about 20 minutes the appetizers arrived and were good. We ordered the sampler and two Caesar salads. The food was placed on the table. I ordered the Bourbon Street Chicken and Shrimp. To my wonder there was no sauce. I thought okay maybe it is in the seasoning. Sadly there was no seasoning, at all. It was just grilled chicken and grilled shrimp on a bed of onion and mushrooms. I asked if they had anything to jazz up the flavor as there was not much Bourbon Street flavor to the requested meal. The server said, "Sure I will bring that right out." After 10 minutes he came back and said sorry I forgot. Another in our group ordered the steak and also had issue of nonexistent flavor to their food. One of the worst restaurant experiences of my life. We waited 30 minutes to be seated and after an additional 20 minutes of no one greeting us or even taking our drink order we decided to order online and got up and left our table. We waited until our quoted pickup time and it took nearly 20 minutes past the pickup time for the hostess to package up our order. We arrived and Patrick sat us in a booth and was very friendly and attentive to what we were wanting and made a couple of suggestions for lunch. We went with the 2 for $24 and I had the ribs and my son ordered the lime chicken with broccoli instead of rice. We are Keto so the meals were good. Patrick came by several times to see if everything was good and if we needed anything and we were very appreciative of that even with only 2 servers working during lunch rush. Kuddos to both Patrick and Dominique. I used the bathroom during my visit and the facilities were very clean and could tell they upkeep them daily. The service was severely lacking in this location. The food was ok once it finally came but it took nearly 40 minutes to get it and it wasn't even busy. I had the brisket tacos. They tasted good but also looked and tasted like they had under a heat lamp for at least 25 minutes. My father in law had the ribs, which if we were all waiting for that, wasn't worth it. He said they're usually great, but these didn't taste fresh at all. My wife got the chicken fingers which were good but c'mon...hard to screw that up. My father in law order an iced tea and got water, so we probably won't be back unless we HAVE to. It was kind of a bummer. read more

Went in on a Saturday at 1 pm with my 4 kids and got turned away because "they didn't have staff to help us" after we got many dirty looks from the host, bartender and other 2 employees standing around doing nothing. After watching commercials of Applebees on TV I get a craving to go there!! Then no matter what I choice, I am disappointed! Last week I ordered the chicken nachos. They were cold I had to take off sour cream to add what needed to be reheated then add sour cream back in. The order was curbside and I live 10min away, so they should have been at least warm. The only positive note was the car side to go waitress was awesome and upbeat. This Applebees is right off the road on HW 25 N and S.It is a great spot to stop when traveling! My wife and I have never ordered takeout foods from Applebees and decided to give it a try. We order from the one in the Town of Bernalillo, North of Albuquerque and Rio Rancho. I ordered the Double Crunch Bone-In Wings and my wife ordered the Neighborhood Nachos Beef without jalapenos or pico de gallo, along with dinnerware for curbside pickup. The nachos had jalapenos and pico de gallo all over and the beef was dried, the wings were OK, though nothing special, and the dinnerware was missing.
