We had dinner at Wings after a day of skiing. Pasta dishes and the bowls were discounted to $18 for Thursday night. We had Cajun chicken pasta and Thai curry chicken bowl. Both were excellent (and spicy!). We had a couple of draft beers, BC Blonde and OK Spring 1516. Two good choices recommended by our server who was absolutely great and made us feel welcomed and appreciated. I eat out sparingly due to the cost so when I eat out I look forward to something I don't make at home. Poke Bowl is my current favourite ~ the chef at Wings needs to do some basic research on the difference between a rice bowl and a Poke bowl- the rice was flavourless, no mango or acid element, no edamame and no sauce to savour- the tuna was edible with the jar variety of pickled ginger but otherwise an expensive bowl of rice! Maybe Wings is good at Wings? Located conveniently near my hotel, I was here a couple of times a couple of months ago during business trip. The average 4-star is for the 5-star customer service and 3.5-star food. I had dinner 2 days in a row here. The host and servers on both days were fantastic. First evening I was introduced to their locally brewed beer. Great taste and refreshing with zero bitterness for this pale ale. Wanting to try their signature wings. The server recommended a few, and I order this dry peppery fried wings with a hint of lemon zest. Sunday is their special wings night for dine in. Inquire details with the server. I also had some yummy yam fries with chipotle dip. - Okanagan Springs pale ale - Lemon peppery chicken wings - Yam fries Second evening I went back for some pasta dish. It was October so they had a Fall Feature Menu. The spaghetti Riviera was very flavourful. They were very generous for their prawns. The only critique was that the spaghetti was actually linguine on the soft side. It would've been a 5-star dish if the pasta was spaghetti cooked in al dente. Followed by Pumpkin Mousse which was also on this fall menu. The dessert on the other hand was perfect! The cold flavourful pumpkin mouse with the bed of toasted almond and Graham cracker crumb together had the amazing texture and sensation. Having only tried wings from here in the past, my friends and I decided to check out what else the restaurant had to offer. We were surprised about how diverse the menu was and appreciated how fast the service was. Overall we had a pleasant experience and would like to come back to continue exploring other menu items. Here's what we ordered: 1. Yam fries: Very well fried and the spicy sauce was great. 2. Fish tacos: Fish tasted fresh and the tacos were very filling. 3. I was here last Friday (May 17th) with my family for a dinner. We planned to have dinner here during our long weekend trip, and our experience was fantastic. We ordered Bangkok Chili Wings, Buffalo Wings, Prawn Linguine and Bellini all together; price was a bit expensive though. Bellini was yummy. Bangkok Chilli Wings and Buffalo wings were good. Buffalo wings had more of Tabasco flavour. Bangkok chili had good amount of spiciness; it was flavorful as well. Prawn Linguine was pretty good. Service was friendly and attentive. All the servers have their hair down and were touching their face and When she brought our food, she just kinda dropped it on the table as if it was a burden to serve us, it was quite depressing. I've been to Wings twice and twice is the limit. On the first visit, the place was fairly busy and there was only one waitress in the lounge area. I ordered something simple - a beef dip and a Caesar salad. The beef dip was good but I couldn't eat the salad as the server didn't bring any silverware. Waited for about 10 minutes but couldn't get the server's attention, so I didn't get to try the salad. On the second visit, I ordered the same thing. This time, I did get silverware, but realized that I wasn't missing out by not eating the salad the first time - the caesar dressing is kind of sweet tasting and didn't really care for it - the parmesan on the Caesar also had a weird smell. The beef dip this time around was almost inedible - full of fat, gristle, and stringy overcooked roast beef. After three attempts of trying to swallow a mouthful and almost choking on the wad of gristle, I gave up. Time to move on to something else. I do not recommend this restaurant. Let me preface this message by saying that every single restaurant that I have been to since the pandemic, have done an amazing job. Except this restaurant, "Wings", an epic failure in customer service but more importantly failing to keep their patrons safe. Stay closed and do not reopen if you are understaffed and if you cannot manage your restaurant to safely handle customers. If customers stay in your restaurant for over 1.5 hours, the exposure is longer and the risk goes up. That is why just about everywhere you go, there is a time limit and limit to the number of people that can be in that restaurant at one time. My critique lands squarely on the management. Manager wore no mask yet he was greeting and seating customers. Waitress wore her mask under her nose even after I reminded her to pull it up. 3 tables in the entire restaurant with 2 servers and 1 manager, 3 people in the kitchen, yet taking over 1 hour to receive wings, salad, and a few plates of food. At a place called Wings! We got there at 1pm. After we ordered, it is 1:25pm on my watch. The manager/supervisor tried to blame us, showing us the ticket that shows the order was punched in at 1:40pm, not realizing that the server punched it in late. It was that server's first day. He made the situation ten times worse by doing that. Not one single apology and no acknowledgement of mistake. I don't care for free drinks or discounts. Just get it right and take ownership of the situation. Food definitely was not great. The wings were terrible probably because they were sitting there for so long. Not only is it a pandemic, the economy is struggling, yet, at "Wings" they seem content with such poor customer service and putting the public at risk. Get your act together, strategize your day better, minimize risks and exposures to COVID, wear your masks properly, don't keep people in the restaurant for over 1-2 hours and stop the blaming. No one cares to get discounts or drinks on the house right now. I care to not sit there for over an hour ever especially during a pandemic. And servers, if your boss exposes you like this, then quit! People's lives are at risk. BC Health should also be made aware of this too. FYI, I am a frontline healthcare professional. It is very upsetting when people do not respect the very simple basic rules of preventing the spread of COVID. I wear full PPE 12 hours a day every day to protect patients. So wear your damn masks properly, especially when serving food, and don't keep the same customers in the restaurant for too long. Max 2 hours, ideally 1.5 hours. You gotta give a place three tries before you rate it poorly. Just in case it's a real "off day" the first couple times you show up. Well, I've been here three times now and each time has been a 2 star experience. This last time I ordered a special that had a pound of wings and nachos. $15. I'm a fan of wings with sauce not a dry rub. Careful what you order because they have dry powder options (the old English cheese is a stinky powdered cheese). The wings we had this time were good (Bombay pineapple) but a little small The nachos though, were way below sub par and a mighty small portion. I wish I took a picture so you could see but it was so dark in the restaurant, I could hardly see it myself! The cheese was crusty and hard, not enjoyably stringy or melty, but over done. So over done in fact that he tortilla chips that didn't have toppings were toasted and darkened. I wouldn't have let those nachos leave the kitchen if I was a chef. No pride in the food there. The French onion soup came out pipping hot (WAY too hot) and must have used ocean water because it was incredibly salty! Really impressed! This restaurant has an extensive appetizer list and burger section. Another customer at a nearby table had the Mile high burger and it looked amazing! I'm definitely going back to try that one. We saw the beef dip go by and it looked really good too. They don't have a large Entrée section, but what they do, they do really well. Wings has good food and good prices. I always enjoy going to the Kelowna location but the customer service at the Veron has been weak and you can expect to wait a while at lunch to be seated. Last time it took and a while but today I just walked out after almost 10 minutes (no acknowledgement, no sorry just a minute we're busy) and went to Red Robin down the streeet. I spoke highly of this restaurant from 3 business trips and could not wait to bring the family here. Fast forward, called and made a reservation and they accommodated us. We arrive and the bartender/manager (that I'm told) is on his phone texting as we waited for service, in previous visits the bartender would come out get drink orders when not busy. We ordered and it took forever to get food, and it's not that it was busy we were the only tables in the restaurant, and I've been there when it's been packed on a wing special evening and the food comes out so quickly. As we are waiting for the food the manger/bartender is vaping at the bar and as I look at him he yells back at me "what's your problem" I'm sitting at the table listening to him yell orders at the three other staff members that you could hear across the lounge. At one point they were all standing at the end of the bar having a very loud conversation. There is a time and a place for everything, and as a service industry image is everything. Fast forward it's 9:10 and the bartender/not really manager is yelling that the kitchen is closed, and funny thing is I was going to meet work members for a drink and more wings, and turning customers away that the kitchen is closed. I was going to order another order of wings but decided to take my business elsewhere that wants to service me. As I'm paying the bill the bill I was having a conversation with the servicer, that was above friendly and helpful about the service and the situation with the bartender/manager and she expressed her displeasure with the situation. The service was good, nice girl and handled the experience well. Drinks were good, but we only had bottled beer and a caeser, so not much to comment on. The food though- really not good. Everything was super bland just tasted like old fryer oil. We only complained about one thing because we didn't want to send the whole table back. I have come here often - both alone with my kids and also with friends. We usually come on the Wing Special nights (Wed/Sun) and we are happy when it is busy as the wings come out fresher/hotter. My little son orders either just a side of fries; or a Kids Grilled Cheese with Fries...The fries are very good (yes I steal some). I am glad to see some of the menu changes. Including Calamari back to regular (not sure why they need to put red peppers on it? - onion is enough!) - but was cooked WAY better then last time we had it (DEATH) - glad we took a chance on it again... We don't order much off the menu - we are wing people.... And yes they have some awesome flavours! I will say though we usually come - especially as a group - on the Wing Special nights...so I was a bit Leary of indulging my older boy on a Friday at full price...But the Wings actually seemed much Bigger and plumper. My imagination? Perhaps - but even my son agreed...and he couldn't put down his usual 2lbs...They did seem bigger on a regular day? Seemed odd... VERY HAPPY they put the MICHELADA back on the drink menu!!! Our last server was good (could have been a bit more attentive) - but we have had exceptional service here many times. They say you only get one chance to make a first impression. Unfortunately my first impression was miserable! After standing at the host/hostess station for about 5 min I was fine ally greeted by a very surly gentleman who did not even say "hello" or "good evening" he just grunted "ONLY one?" Why should I expect him to be nice or cheerful, after all I am only coming to spend my hard earned money at his business. After he tried to show me into the lounge, without even asking, I just turned around and left, as he yelled at me "what is your problem?" I am sure he would be surprised to hear that HE is the problem! No loss I have eaten here before because it was close to my hotel, and to be honest the food was not that great anyway. I have been here multiple times and it is always great. The service is spectacular, the servers actually take their time to ask how you are doing and will fix any problem that you have with a smile. (I know how hard that is as I am in the service industry as well.) The food is always satisfying and tasty. I am a huge east indian cuisine fan, and Wings' Phuket Curry Bowl is outstanding and always consistent, as are all the other items we have tried (do yourself a favour and try the chocolate chip cookie. Seriously, it is heaven!) The management team is great as well, always coming over to your table to ask how you are when they recognize you. Is there a ZERO star??? The manager, Sherman, is the most rude person I've ever dealt with in customer service. I am a nurse now, but worked as a waitress for years prior to that. I know how customers are supposed to be treated. HE clearly skipped that week of training. I ordered the Bula Figi wings which say 1 pepper for hotness and are supposed to be dry. They were WAY too hot and were saucy and had chili pepper seeds all over them. My daughter had ordered the Calgary Bacon something wings which were rated 2 peppers in heat. Hers were nowhere near as hot as mine. I told the waitress and she apologized and asked if I wanted to try something different and I said yes. She took my overly hot wings away. The manager came over and asked what was wrong with the wings so I told him. And I said that I wondered if the cooks gave me the wrongs wings. The manager said no they were the right ones but sometimes they get the hotness wrong. Sometimes they're not hot enough and sometimes they're too hot. So he went away and I got my new wings which were mild. Then I got my bill and they had charged me for the bad wings that they took away plus the new wings. Only they did give me the reduced Wednesday special price. I asked to speak to the manager regarding this. He came over and asked what was the problem. I told him I didn't see why I was being charged for wings that were bad plus they were taken away. He said it was my fault because I chose poorly from the menu. I said, no, the menu needs to be changed because those wings were clearly not a 1 pepper hotness AND they were supposed to be dry, not saucy. And my daughters wings were supposed to be hotter and they didn't even come close. He cut me off and said, "fine, have it your way" and walked away. He came over about a minute or so later to the customers in the booth in front of us and looked straight at me and said, "congratulations! " in a very rude and sarcastic tone. I assured him that I would not be returning and I would tell all my friends about how I was treated. Because of my experience with customers, I know how hard it can be so I rarely ever complain and always tip well. It took a lot for me to even complain to the waitress about the wings. And for me to be taking my precious time to write bad reviews and email the company, really says something about how poorly I was treated. This man, Sherman, does not belong in customer service! The waitress, who was new by the way, was very courteous and apologetic, was more skilled than her so-called manager. WINGS Vernon - Nice looking place - Chicken Wings Near Me - Vernon, British Columbia

I feel awful having to be the first to say "Why!?!?!" Wings opened three days ago, like anyone else, I was excited to try a new restaurant in town. I was hoping for a new hotspot to drink local beer and eat amazing wings but the wings are mediocre, absolutely nothing special about them, we even had a couple that barely had any meat on them. Big, tasty and juicy would be the last words I would use to describe them. My friend and I each had burger and the quality of the burger was terrible, a frozen cardboard patty that didn't even taste like beef, it was grey and very unappetizing. We even sent back French fries because they were so soggy and when we got a fresh order they were just hot and soggy. Another 30 seconds in the fryer would have helped. This place is right next door to a place that makes wicked burgers and uses fresh ingredients. Everything on this menu is frozen, canned and full of preservatives. Out of all the restaurants you could choose to open, WHY would you choose one that has terrible food at every location throughout B.C?
