Fiorella's the Original has a no-frills type ambiance. It just screams old-school and I think that vibe just enhanced my overall experience. I came in here just about five o'clock and asked the young lady behind the counter if the veal was hand sounded or just a frozen patty. The girl was not sure, but asked another woman who assured me they were hand pounded and were not just a patty preformed from scraps. The price was more than fair and the ordering process is pretty straightforward. You place your order and they give you a number. Your food is brought to you pretty quickly. I found the veal parmigiana to be pretty tasty, as was the caesar salad that I had with it. All in all, I can see why this place has survived for decades and I will also say that the neighborhood is a far better place for the existence of Fiorella's the Original. I would definitely recommend here and give it five stars.

The Caesar dressing like sauce was too heavy and not great. The crab claws by themselves probably would have been good. And the cocktail sauce - came from a jar or something. I certainly don't say that lightly because I eat soft shell crabs from the start of the season right up to the end. We were so full that there would be no need to eat dinner.
