If it weren't for John P., I wouldn't order this 4x per week to the office for the last 2 years,…read morebut he's such a good representative for CT I just want to chat with him every day. I'd gamble that I am the number 1 most frequent purchaser at this location. Not like "oh I order it a lot" but actually the number 1 purchaser, so here is my honest to goodness assessment of this establishment: 1.) Without a doubt the best customer service experience you've ever had. They ALWAYS respond, with a person and they ALWAYS solve any (rare) issue. If you still use DoorDash or UberEats then I must assume that you are into masochism and enjoy the miserable, awful experience with them. 2.) Everything is good. Given my reign as "#1 CT'er of Castleton Location", I've had at least 20 different menu items. I've had each of them more than once. If this review gets enough love, I'll release my coveted "Power Rankings" of the menu items, but for the sake of this review, I'll tell you that you can't go wrong with any of their pizza options or anything with chicken. The common denominator here is THEIR UNBELIEVABLE, CONSISTENTLY POURED cups of ranch dressing. I've only had two better cups of ranch in my life, but those are more like exotic treats than a daily driver ranch. Anyway, order everything. 3.) Their drivers are WAY happier, WAY more helpful, and WAY more focused on delivering food with a smile on their face. They give the company a good boots on the ground presence and represent the company well. The enthusiastic "Enjoy your fooooood!" that Wayyuan gives with EVERY delivery makes you feel like a kid on Christmas. Guaranteed to make you smile. Matthew, Mark and John are like "The Gospel" of food delivery (Sorry, never had a Luke)...much like the Good Book, John stands out. I'd like to take this time and this platform to bring something to attention. JOHN P. IS THE GREATEST DELIVERY DRIVER IN THE MIDWEST, MAYBE IN THE ENTIRE UNITES STATES OF AMERICA. I've written to the DDAOA (Delivery Drivers Association of America...think The Oscars for drivers) and they've assured me he's going to win the Award this year. All in all, I love this place.

My meeting was scheduled for 12 not 12:30, totally unacceptable. I had to cancel my meeting and reschedule. Total Takeout's delivery charges are high compared to other services.. ie: Grub Hub, Door Dash. With taxes, delivery fee and automatic gratuity a $14.29 salad (which is $2 higher than what the restaurant charges!) ended up being $22.80. I have no problem tipping my delivery person and will be generous, unless it's an automatic tip plus a separate delivery fee. $0 delivery fee with Door Dash and small (if any) with Grub Hub. To upcharge the food AND add a delivery fee seems a bit excessive. I ordered the same type salad ($13.50)from Grub Hub, they had a $10 promotional discount, added a dessert ($3.50) and my total with tax and tip - $13.01

All of the food arrived room temperature. One of the entrees we ordered was the "Real Cheesy Burger," which, surprisingly did not come with one single bit of cheese. The patty was also burnt, which is a shame because, under the char, the seasoning tasted like it was decent. The fries were well seasoned, but they were room temperature and a bit stale because of it. In general, I feel we got less-than-drive-thru quality for the price of a modest sit down dinner.

Turns out the entire heated patio is first come, first served, and we were seated almost immediately. It was one of those windy Indiana afternoons where the cold finds every gap in your jacket. I fully expected to spend lunch shivering. Somehow, the heated patio felt warmer than the restaurant itself. Between the TVs, football on every screen, and the patio heaters, we had zero complaints. Now let's talk about the famous pepperoni-stuffed breadsticks. They're a must. And order your own nacho cheese. Seriously. Don't expect anyone to share. I could eat a shoe dipped in their cheese and probably enjoy every bite. The breadsticks always arrive piping hot, stuffed with gooey mozzarella, and if we're judging on a cheese-pull scale...I'm giving them a solid 7/10 on the stretch meter. As for our server, Zach...what a true gem. He's one of those people I'd honestly be surprised to hear anyone say they didn't like. Funny, quick with the jokes, and somehow kept up with the chaos without missing a beat. He also made sure my lemon drop martinis never had a chance to get lonely. Since I wasn't driving, he happily assisted me in...staying hydrated. The place was busy enough that we couldn't stand around chatting long, but he's the kind of person you'd genuinely enjoy running into again. We've been here twice now, and both visits have been consistently great. Whether you're stopping in to catch the game, escape the cold on the heated patio, or simply satisfy a craving for those ridiculously good breadsticks, Ale Emporium continues to be one of our favorite spots.
