Mixed in walking taco
Billie K.

I was always a little skeptical because I've tried a couple other meal prep locations, and the taste was just not there. Since it was Devour Indy and you could get four for $20, I thought this was my chance to give them a try. Let's start with the service. The two individuals working when I stopped in Sunday were very friendly and also very helpful. When you walk in, there are a bunch of freezers to your right. The meals are all lined up and easy to see nutritional value through the glass front freezers. Not much to the place. Freezers and some shelves with a few drinks and snacks. But it was very clean. Now, for the important part: taste. I was very impressed with the taste of the walking tacos! Everything tasted fresh. It had a slight kick, which I enjoyed not spicy just a little kick. I would give it a nine out of 10! Nine because the lime was inside the tray, which made it mushy when warming it up . But that will not stop me from ordering this again. I thought it was a good portion and filling.

Missing instructions

Doesn't even provide heating instructions on their labels, microwave is empty. If they can't even get their packaging correct, you really think the macros on the food are accurate? Seems like the quality has gone down, which makes sense considering the Devour Indy got shrunk from 4 to 3 meals. Hopefully they get replaced by a better competitor!

Chicken and dumplings. Biscuit was hard and this is thigh meat but imo not good thigh meat.

Overall I like the meals. Every now and then it's a miss. For example the chicken and dumplings is a hard no for me. I'm not a picky person that's why these work for me but not my husband. There are a couple others that aren't great but you'll have that. I keep going back for the convenience. I avoid the ones high in sodium.

I was here to get a burger at Clancy's and walked by Herculean. I walked through but wanted to bring my wife back before making a purchase. Everything looked like great options. When I brought her back, we looked at the options and decided to buy a variety. I really didn't look at anything closely other than the calories which are prominently posted on the front of the package. When I got to the checkout, I thought they were expensive but they offered that there was a price break at 7. Once I got them home, we have been eating them this week. Every one can be microwaved in 3 minutes and 45 seconds. If you're like me and working at home some days and on videoconferencing back to back, these are a great way to make lunch and get back to work. They've helped me enforce portion control which is always a love/hate thing but they are doing the healthy thing. Where I initially thought these were expensive, they are still cheaper than driving and grabbing lunch somewhere. They are more expensive than microwaving junk but they are significantly healthier so this is a case of getting what you pay for. I'll definitely be repeating. These give me variety and health and are still a fair value.

I was first introduced to Herculean Meal Prep by my gym (Orangetheory Fitness). I love the meals. They aren't salty and the flavor sits inside of the food, meaning it's probably been marinated. The meals range between $8-$9 per meal. They come with all of the nutritional facts on the package. Herculean has been one of the most tasty and healthy meal prep services I've used. They also give great recommendations for adding more flavor to the meals. My fave meals are the chicken teriyaki, turkey chili, sunshine beef, peanut butter chicken, and the steak/egg/potatoes. The staff at Herculean are very knowledgeable, and will give you their personal recommendations. They're usually right. The meals can be frozen for up to one year and they usually come with an expiration date.

Tried the Steak & Potatoes, did the same 3:45 time as stated and the Steak was dry and some pieces were entirely inedible. I don't know if I got a bad batch but would not order this one again.

Comes frozen with a label. Expires in 1 year

Slowest delivery I have ever experienced. I place an order on Thursday and as of the projected delivery is tomorrow.

I just ordered a box of 7 online to give it a try. I live just outside of the city, so I am having them shipped. Do they come frozen and you just reheat? The Herculean website doesn't make that clear.

Yes they are froze heat for 3:30-4:00 min they are great

This is unfortunately not a first class Whole Foods if you have shopped at other WF's in major…read morecities. Many times, for unknown reasons, their shelves are not restocked. I find that I have to go in repeatedly to find items that I regularly purchase. Most of the staff members are helpful if you can find one to ask a question. However, I have to call out the Manager behind the desk who has been particularly "sour" on the few occasions when I have returned items, and I have noticed this same attitude in her own interactions with staff. I think this affects them negatively as it's hard to get a smile from the checkout folks who just mechanically do their jobs (with one long time employee "Go....a" being the exception). There is no sense at all that they enjoy working at this WF. I purchase bread here and it is good, but the area is usually understaffed. Sometimes, there is a 5-6 minute wait to just find someone to slice the bread. Believe me, I'd much rather shop at WF than TJ's, but the staff members at TJ's are quantum leaps better in terms of their consistent friendly customer relations and service. Having said all this, I will say that this WF location's meat counter and produce staff members are the exception....they are very good and helpful. I actually hope that someone in WF corporate will see this review so that they can do something about the institutional issues at this location.

Brilliantly colored fruits greeted me at the door. Clerks were helping people at the meat counter. Fresh breads were out. The hot food bar was fully stocked for lunch. There were six different soups! Valentine roses were on clearance. I did a quick scan for King's Cake for Fat Tuesday, but Mardi Gras did not seem to be on the radar I easily found what I was looking for (except King Cake). I also picked up a few greeting cards. I like their selection of upscale cards. Unfortunately, I forgot to use my Prime code for discount when I checked out. I forget most of the time. Dang. There's plenty of parking in the shared lot.
