Random lane closures on Broad made it a pain to get there. It is surrounded by rundown strip malls, and the access and parking are pretty bumpy. It's hard to get in: there are locked doors with buzzers, and it is not real clear which door you should use. There is a pickup door, very clearly marked, but the regular entrance is just a little portico, the entrance to the vets, so press one of the buzzers. Inside, it's a standard veterans hall. Dark, bar the main attraction, with tables, pool tables too, quiet in the afternoon. The wings part was pretty busy, with dine in and carry out customers. And I knew that, and I knew wings take a while, so I was prepared to wait. Service was excellent, friendly, helpful, from several people during my stay. And the food was excellent. I was going to get onion rings, but they said on Wednesdays they don't have room in the fryer for those. I was a little disappointed because I figured they probably have great onion rings. Oh well. So I got the pretzel bites. A fairly small order for seven dollars, but the best pretzel bites I've ever had, I think because they were deep-fried. (They're smaller than onion rings.)
