Hotdogs and chips
Herman X.

TL:DR - Sit by windows for a good view. Typical street food but more expensive. Try to sit by the windows. You get a nice table with some maps, pins, and designs on it. The back of chairs also has an image of a plane on it. As you look out the window, every so often you can see a plane take off or land. The food seems like typical food like hotdogs soda chips. Except the price is not typical. Got 3 hotdogs, 3 bags of chips, and two sodas for $23.

Behold the $6 hot-dog. Six. Dollars. WTAF.
Michael M.

Horrible value for money. Nothing is freshly prepared - the kitchen is simply a place to unpack pre-made items from gawd-knows-where. You practically need a PhD to decypher the comically sophisticated 'upgrade' price structure (really? are chips THAT complicated??). And then you pay such a high price for the mediocrity that you're guaranteed to leave feeling ripped off. It's all basically lined up to disappoint, which is so out-of-sync with the great museum this cafe serves. Oh, and the service? Abysmal: indifferent and shamelessly unapologetic. When I reported multiple mistakes with an order to the manager in charge, I was offered with a bland (illogical) explanation, made to feel like I was 'interrupting,' given a replacement plastic-shrink-wrapped sandwich, and sent on my way without a single utterance of "sorry about that." Fail, fail, and fail.

Do-it-yourself loaded baked potato
Andy B.

At first, this seems like an appropriately themed cafeteria with aviation stuff on the walls and tables, and that's about where the fun ends. Otherwise, welcome back to middle school, complete with dirty tables, sticky floors, and pre-packaged and reheated frozen delights. I paid six bucks for a do-it-yourself loaded baked potato with little tubs of sour cream, shredded cheese, and bacon. The bacon and cheese were a bit icy (just pulled out of the fridge) and the potato itself was lukewarm. The net result after combining all the ingredients was a cold potato. The buffalo wings were barely warm, the pulled pork sandwich was unevenly heated (microwaved), the coleslaw was very bland (get better slaw at KFC), and the pita was soggy and gross on the bottom with a big hunk of plastic wrap stuck to it. I saw a "chef" wheel in a large pallet of sealed plastic bowls of salad that you would find in the grocery store. You're basically paying fresh-food prices for vending machine/frozen food. The employees working here feel dead inside, especially in contrast to the friendliness and positive attitudes the employees at the rest of the museum have. I wonder if it's a rotation thing and the cafe is the crap job everyone hates to do when it's their turn. Food: 2 Service: 2 Value: 1 Ambiance: 2 Penalty: -1 - foreign object in food TL;DR: Eat somewhere else, support the museum by buying something at the gift shop instead

My $10 lunch! Really?!
Melody P.

Not sure why my coworkers told me it's good here. It really doesn't make any sense at all! I came here for lunch and ordered a turkey sandwich. It was so bad and it's actually worse than the sandwich I can make, dry, soggy, unflavorful. I felt the best in this meal was actually that small bag of chips! Not to mention, it's very pricy! As far as service goes, it's self-service. You order your meal and find a table you want to sit. I appreciated the staff keeping the dining area clean. Sorry! I would not come back!

Husband got the cheeseburger, i got the buffalo wings and overall it was decent.
Mizie M.

Overall, it was decent. It's sort of cafeteria food style, but it wasn't as bad as we were expecting based on the reviews. When we came here, it's free museum day so I can assume there had been a lot of visitors today and the cafe is pretty clean! Husband had the cheeseburger which he said was not too flavorful, but come on, it's not Red Robin here! He liked it, but there's nothing exciting about it. I got the hot wings and it wasn't short of what regular buffalo wings usually are. The cafe is what it is; functional, but of course there could be room for improvement. I also like the open seating and open condiments area. So overall, give the place a chance! We wouldn't rule out eating here again if there's another visit to the Museum.

The B-52 Bomber chili dog. Knife and fork will be needed!
Michele A.

Given this is the only dining option without having to leave the place, my fiancé and I decided to try it. We both ordered the B-52 Bomber chili dogs. The bun is instantly soggy from the weight of what tasted like cheap canned chili, making it impossible to pick it up and eat traditionally like how a hot dog would be eaten. We had to knife and fork our chili dogs. The dog itself tastes like a cheap hot dog and is nothing special. Probably best to bring your own snacks or fine elsewhere. There's a Buffalo Wild Wings 4 miles away!

Cold, dry bread.
A. C.

I ordered the chicken sandwich "special". What a bunch of crap. The chucked was room temp and rubbery like a Kong. I took it back to the counter and was given a bunch of attitude. They finally offered me another choice. I ordered the roast beef sandwich. Yuk! The bread was dry as if it were made two days ago. The lettuce was wilted and limp. The bread was cold as if it came right out of the fridge. Plan your day before coming here so you can eat elsewhere. They couldn't care less. I do. I paid for a $9.00 pile of crap. Never again.

I ordered a Matcha latte with no flavor. I saw that they had an einspanner Matcha and a banana matcha which I'm eager to try. I didn't want anything too sweet so I went with the traditional latte and didn't know if it was going to come sweetened or not. It turned out to be absolutely delicious and very lightly sweetened, which was perfect and exactly what I look for in a Matcha. It was earthy and delicious. I saw that they also served lots of Boba toppings, but I came so early that they weren't serving them yet so I would love to come back and try their Boba. We were curious in their Asian-inspired selection of rice krispys, including a pandan rice krispy. It was a fun treat, that had a strong smell of pandan and a slightly weaker taste but still delicious hint of pandan that added a subtle, fragrant, sweetness. Would love to try some of their food dishes in the future!

Aiiiite, some things to note about this place when dining in for some delicious Vietnamese food:…read more 1. Cash Only - When you first come in, there are signs posted around the restaurant with the cash only sign. If you don't have any, Bank of America is only a few minutes away by walking. 2. Parking - Around the busy plaza, there's 2 free lots. One on the side (gets super packed since it's shared by multiple businesses) and there's a back lot (park with caution in the evening). 3. Limited Menu - This place specializes in a few Viet dishes. So don't be surprised if it doesn't have the typical pho / broken rice / banh mi options. Instead, specialty of this place is more on the egg and rice noodle soup, the sizzling beef platter or the beef stew. 4. Limited Take Out - Depending on how busy this place gets, most of the time, there will be no option to do take out/ to go orders. Best to dine in if you want to eat here. 5. Food - I tried all the food options here and top 2 favorites are the Bo Ne (sizzling steak plate) and the hu tieu mi ñam vang (dry version with a bowl of soup on the side). Both are solid and always so yummy and consistent. 6. Service - Hit or miss... if you really need something during the busy lunch hour, it's best to either wave your arms crazily in the air for attention or simply walk up to the register and tell the staff what you need. When settling the bill, just head to the register and let the cashier know what table you're sitting at. Overall, solid place to eat (with the hole in the wall kind of vibes) but just know there are some small quirks to it ahead of time so you won't be unpleasantly surprised.

Not a bad idea to call ahead of time, but no reservations needed or possible. We went on a Saturday night and my boyfriend spontaneously ordered some meat and veggie with injera...it was absolutely delicious! We weren't really sure what to expect, however, because they didn't have any menus. They did have a sick Eritrean music video lineup though. The lighting was reddish and the place had a nice ambiance with local Eritreans drinking beer in the back outside the restaurant. If you like a little adventure, you will not be disappointed by Momona (misspelled on Yelp). It's also the only Eritrean restaurant in Seattle, according to its staff.

The owner was quite happy to explain the dishes and was just a delight to chat with. She made the visit to Momona my favorite stop on the Plate of Nations list. My second visit was anything but impressive. Flies buzzing in numbers, they had to be fended off while dining, service had to be prompted numerous times to action to perform basic common tasks, couldn't answer any questions, serving dishes were dirty, the restaurant appeared to be very poorly kept both inside and out. The server didnt know how to ring me up: i was charged 2 additional times on my credit card & ultimately had to pay cash (now I have to come back to the restaurant to resolve their billing mistake).
