Mike has great wings, cooked to perfection with great sides. I only wish he was brick and mortar.

If you're in the mood for some seriously delicious Korean fried chicken, Chicken on Fire is a…read morehidden gem you don't want to miss. This tiny spot does one thing -- and they do it incredibly well. Their menu is simple: crispy, juicy fried chicken paired with rice and a side of tangy, refreshing coleslaw. But don't let the simplicity fool you; each bite is packed with flavor! The chicken is perfectly crispy on the outside while staying tender and juicy on the inside. You can tell they've mastered the art of frying. And with the price being so reasonable, you'll definitely feel like you're getting more than your money's worth. The rice and slaw balance out the heat and richness of the chicken beautifully, making for a well-rounded meal that leaves you craving more. My fave flavors are spicy Medium and sweet and sour! This hole-in-the-wall spot might not have all the bells and whistles, but it has heart, great food, and a welcoming vibe. If you're in the Castro valley area, I highly recommend!

Since we got it to go, I can't speak to the location nor its vibe. The order: Soy Garlic chicken wings -These wings are currently the Standard Bar which other Soy Garlic Korean Fried Chicken Wings are compared to. It has a well seasoned batter that is not too thick, has crunch and flavor even with the soy garlic sauce. The soy garlic sauce is Garlic forward with a nice amount of sweetness. Medium Spicy Chicken Wings -The batter was well seasoned, and the spice takes a second or two to kick in. The spice level of medium is probably as hot as I would enjoy (normal enjoyable max spice level is hot Cheetos). To me, it is soy garlic with a kick up underlying spice. Sweet Potato Fries -A nice toasted sweetness on the outside and a very soft sweet potato inside. Goes great with the sweet and sour dipping sauce. Onion Rings -The batter on these were surprisingly tasty with a nice crunch to them. They weren't soggy and they had a delicious like taste to them (maybe corn batter). If you like onion rings, then these are worth a taste. Rice -Their rice was as perfect as rice can be. I always enjoy eating some rice with my chicken. The rice also came in handy to cool things down when eating the spicier wings.

UNDERNEATH THE SAUCE…read more Rarely do I shop at Southland Mall however I was there two Wednesdays ago when I shopped at Champs Sports and Foot Locker. After shopping, for lunch I decided to eat at Adrienne's Wild Wings. I'm a sucker for wings, but I've never been to Adrienne's Wild Wings before. I asked the cashier what sauce she would recommend. She stated one of the sauces she liked was honey garlic. I ordered 10-piece combo that included ten wings, side order, and dessert. For the side order I choose tater tats while for the dessert I selected cheesecake. The 10-piece combo comes with two sauces. I choose honey butter, which is the dry rub, and honey garlic. I believe sauces should be used for flavoring not hiding. What do I mean by that? I've noticed sometimes sauces mask how dry the meat is. I decided to taste the honey butter first to see how moist the meat is inside. After taking a bite two things came to mind. First I couldn't taste the honey butter. Second the meat was moist. I tried the honey garlic. The cashier said the honey garlic was spicy. However I felt the honey garlic was spicy at all. Yet the honey garlic sauce was very flavorful. What did I like more the honey butter or honey garlic? I say this was toss up as I can taste more of the meat from the honey butter, yet I can enjoy the sauce of the honey garlic. The tater tots were disappointing as they were bland. The cheesecake was light. I don't shop at Southland Mall often. If I go back Southland Mall and become hungry for lunch I can see myself going back to Adrienne's Wild Wings.

When anyone wants wings, I always ask them, "Have you tried fire wings yet?!?!"…read more They have a large array of wings flavors, and even have a nice variety of side dishes. This location has a very large parking lot, but closer spots can fill up quick, especially in the evening. The place has several televisions throughout the space. Once you enter, behind the registers you can see the monitors with menu items. To the left you can see the expansive chicken wing flavor options. I recommend the combos, but if you come to this location on Wednesdays, they have a bone in Wing Special (minimum order qty of 10pieces in a single flavor). **they now advertise a boneless wings specials everyday (used to be Tuesdays only) The Order: 10pc Dragon wings (bone in) -The chicken was perfectly battered and well seasoned. It was tossed in a sweet soy sauce garlic sauce that is thick like pancake syrup. This one is very reminiscent to Korean soy garlic. Although it is labled with spice, I do not find it spicy (and my spice comfort level maxes out with hot Cheetos) 10pc Peking Wings -Another sweet coating , but even more thick and a vibrant deep red (similar to the color modeling duck). They do a fantastic job at coating the chicken with the sauce. It maintains the crunchy batter and is a must try. 10pc Salt & Pepper wings -This one really emphasizes the great batter they use on their wings. A nice crunch without too thick of batter. The salt & pepper seasoning brings home the dish. Perfect pairing with any of their side dishes and a beer or soda. Restroom: Their restroom requires a code to get in. Once inside there is a single deadbolt to lock the door. The restroom is an individual restroom with only one toilet. It is decently clean with only the essentials and a surprising amount instructions on orange labels everywhere (*see photos). I recommend you add Fire Wings to your list of chicken wings spots. Even their Garlic noodles were tasty!

TL;DR: Look no further than Volcano Island for some BOMB KFC!…read more Customer Service - 5/5* My husband found this place thanks to Reddit recs for best KFC places in the Easy bay. We came here with his siblings for a Saturday lunch (5 of us in total) and Eli immediately greeted us and gave us the full rundown of the menu and the story of how his mom and him came to own this place. We decided to actually just eat outside to be able to enjoy the food right away. Once Eli saw we were going to eat there, he was super accommodating and brought us a ton of napkins, salads, extra pickled daikon, and even some drinks! He even brought his mom Esther out to chat with us and it was so wholesome to hear their story! Food - 5/5* AMAZING. We ordered the Volcano Island (spicy) chicken, the Mama Seoul's signature chicken, and some pickled radish. We actually preferred the Mama Seoul's signature (his mom's recipe) over the Volcano island (the original store's recipe that they kept since it was a fan favorite), but they were both super crunchy, juicy, and flavorful. We were also lucky enough to try some of their salad. We learned that the radish and salad dressing were all Esther's own recipes and they paired really well with the chicken. The radish had such amazing crunch and freshness, and the salad dressing was light and tangy. We loved it so much, we actually bought a pint of the salad dressing to take home! All in all, Eli and Esther made us feel like we were eating dinner at their house. Looking forward to coming back again from Fremont (with friends!) and trying more of their KFC flavors and all the other dishes they have to offer.

The good was this chicken was the best I had in a while. It was crunchy and juicy, done just right. The salad was a nice touch, I love it when it's a good sesame dressing, reminds me of a cafe I use to get salads from. Now the customer service was amazing, I got my food fast, Eli came out to check in my a few times, we had a quick chat about the food, business, life. Gave me some cards to sign up to get exclusive information and discounts in the future. It seems like they have a lot of regulars, because mama was talking to everyone too, awesome family vibes. The spot is a cute little mom and pop style place, in and out with a self ordering kiosk. There's outdoor seating with tons of shade so it was a beautiful day to relax and enjoy the food. Now to the "bad...". When I first came here I was hoping a quick and easy meal that I can have and go about my day. This place is so good, it's been on my mind since I left. I stay up at night wondering how good the other items are and when will I ever get to try it. I live over 45 minutes away and was hoping the food would be average so I wouldn't have to make a trip out to eat it but it was amazing. Now I need more reasons to come out to Hayward...

The frustration in driving in a circle. The ambiance of the restaurant is basically a Hong Kong Cafe style. There are two areas catering small parties to big parties. The lighting is terrible though, the florescent lighting is just not for me. The food here is pretty good. They have a huge selection. Hayward doesn't have a lot of Asian catering restaurants that are cheap eats. Yeah, they opened a new banquet, but not a lot of fast, cheap foods. 1. Pork Congee with Thousand Year Old Egg - Typically very flavorful. I like to come grab a bowl when I'm not feeling well to cook. 2. Honey Walnut Shrimp - How can you go wrong? Such a western staple. 3. Pork Chow Fun - Large portion, reasonably priced, tasty enough. 4. Salt & Pepper Fish Fillet - Surprisingly one of my favorite things on the menu. Sharable portions, enough for maybe 2-4 people. 5. Salt & Pepper Prawns - Typically I would say standard, but I don't believe I enjoyed the prawns as much. 6. Mongolian Beef - Standard, soft, best with rice. 7. Salt & Pepper Pork Chops - I could live without this. 8. Combo Pan Fried Noodles - I love me a crispy noodle with gravy I can pour over because it leaves a good texture. 9. Chicken Fried Rice - Standard, sharable 10. Beef Brisket Noodle Soup - Tasty, boyfriend's favorite. Hate that adding wonton is literally $1 per piece and it's so tiny. 11. HK Milk Tea - Reasonable, but not very flavorful.. 12.
