We came in on an unseasonably chilly May morning nursing a bit of a hangover. Krankies was delightfully warm with plenty of seating. I got the Hangover Cure biscuit, which had eggs, fried chicken, bacon, cheese, and gravy on the side. I also got a hot latte and then topped it off with a cinnamon roll. My partner got the sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit with an iced latte. The lattes: go with a flavored one if you grab a coffee here. Their plain latte was not that good but their vanilla latte was very good. Biscuits: WOW! The Hangover Cure is hefty with plenty of biscuit to go around - I had some to take home with me. It was absolutely everything I needed after a night of imbibing with friends. My partner also enjoyed his biscuit. Cinnamon roll: very good! They had a variety of baked goods to choose from. Definitely worth the add. All in all, I think we spent $40, which feels reasonable for the amount and quality of food we received. Definitely worth a stop in if you happen to be in the area.

The high wooden bookshelves and designated reading tables give it literary cachet, but The Remedy leans more cozy than stuffy. There's plenty of seating inside and out, and this would be as good a place for a group as it would be for partaking solo. Part coffeeshop and part bar, The Remedy also offers baked goods, flatbreads and charcuterie alongside its coffees, teas, and cocktails. I passed on the food (it seemed overpriced), but the coffee left no room for complaint. I went with a marshmallow iced latte. It was prepared quickly, and it made for a smooth sip: not too sweet and no acidity. Winston-Salem has no shortage of places to grab a drink of the caffeinated or alcoholic varieties, but it's hard to beat the atmosphere that The Remedy has to offer.

I felt like I interrupted the gentlemen's conversation by trying to order and they were not very friendly. The veggie quiche was over $7 and kind of small. I was still hungry. It was good though. I'll add that I did not try the coffee (which apparently is a staple) There are so many OTHER breakfast and coffee spots in the city... I'll just say that.

Did a quick yelp search, and found Camino wasn't too far from where we were. We walked over and found it clustered in a nice area with several restaurants we've visited in the past. There was a short line, and only one person taking/making orders behind the counter. I couldn't figure out what the other two were doing, but he was able to keep the line moving fairly fast. We ordered a slice of quiche and a Danish to share. We asked for the quiche to have to have there, and the Danish to go, so asked to have it heated. They said they couldn't heat any food, but pointed us in to the microwave in the dining area which was a bit odd to me. Otherwise, the food was tasty. They've got a good bit of a seating inside with a laid back, relaxed feel. They've got some art on the walls, assuming from local artists for sale. They also have a small patio out front on the sidewalk. We did need to use the bathroom before leaving, which are locked, and you need to ask the staff for code to use them, which isn't something we're used to.

Lucky for me the kind lady behind the counter packed up each of my selection without judgement. I went with the ham and bougie mustard croissant (absolute perfection) and grabbed a few extra treats to take home for the kids. I was especially excited about the ginger sandwich cookie and the pull-apart bread... but unfortunately, the small humans devoured everything before I even had a chance to sneak a bite. Lesson learned: next time I'm coming back, claiming a cozy corner seat, and enjoying every last crumb solo. Totally worth it.

The specialty cakes looked amazing. I was here for the croissant though! There is no parking as such at the location just street parking which I found easily. Walked up to the bakery and stood in line which can take a second as people take awhile to choose from the array of goodies. I got the raspberry key lime croissant which I assume is a seasonal offering. Anyway had my name written all over it ! Plus I got a cappuccino. I went and grabbed a seat outside as it was a nice sunny afternoon. They bought my coffee out which was nice. The croissant was perfectly balanced , raspberry sweetness meshed well with the tart key lime and the crispy outside of the croissant. Inside they layers become softer as it mixes with the curd and raspberry . A must try if you enjoy these flavors. I savored every bite . The coffee was perfectly made with the pretty design:) A fabulous afternoon treat as I usually working at that time! Great place, great space inside and outside. Honestly only thing I'd maybe say was maybe the staff could smile . Bobby boys has this pastry thing down pat though .

My friend ordered the breakfast burrito, it was huge! For a side she had the sweet potato tots. She let me steal a bite of both and yum! I opted for the Hot Honey Chicken with Pimento Benedict and wow! I was nervous the pimento cheese would be overpowering, but it wasn't at all! It was a nice, creamy complement to the spicy crispy chicken. The hollandaise cut through some of the richness for a pleasant mellower. Prices are reasonable and our waitress was great! This is a solid restaurant with much to offer in the brunch/breakfast area - an area that has become popular and chic, and it almost always means much will be expensive, usual very expensive considering the less than costly menu ingredients that drive food choices here, and other such brunch spots. Brunch is seen as more than just a meal for some folks who are all into what is trendy, and restaurant are aware of this and prices are raised due to the "experience" element! I have tried several items here including their version of Huevos Rancheros (not a fan of how they make it, pulled pork is a party foul), the Eggs Benedict (decent but over priced for sure, $17 with bacon added), and several Omelette choices, can reach $15. This is obviously a popular spot in downtown Winston, but I find it generally overpriced, loud, and the service is inconsistent. I like a good adventure, but somethings simply are not worth the cost! Note that the prices for individual items are written, very lightly with no $ sign to the right of the item. This is done intentionally to make the customer pay less attention to what they spending. Many restaurants are using some form of this approach!
