Tater logs and onion rings February 2021
    Amy K.

Been a while since we've been to villas but had to go to wing it. We don't eat meat but always go for the sides. Even with new owners same quality we've always loved. Got tater logs and onion rings. Both fresh and hot when we picked up and tasty as always. I did think the logs coating has a gotten a bit spicier but not bad. Overall we will continue to buy all our sides from wing it!! Ps since there are new owners, I hope they consider adding a meatless wing to the menu!!

Was on vacation in the Villas and had a hankering for some quality wings. Came across Wing It and sounded like they'd be a slam dunk. Nice small take-out spot. No space for eating in. The smell on the inside gave me such great hope along with the many positive reviews. They had plenty of ventilation as the smoke on the inside from the grills could get heavy without them. The girl at the front counter was kind, patient, and helpful explaining some things to me. Really good service! As far as the food goes, taste it all completely relative as you all know. I found my wings to be a bit over fried which helped with a crunchy skin but a little dry on the inside. Some people like their wings extra crispy like that though. Sauce was buffalo hot which is supposed to be the spiciest they had. Good sauce, spicy for the average person, but very mild if you have any spicy tolerance. I'd honestly recommend they grill their wings! The ribs tasted like your backyard grilled wings. I'd personally like them a little more fall off the bone from a slower cook, but that grill gave them a reallt nice flavor. The house bbq sauce was very good too and I think I saw you can buy it by the bottle and bring that bottle back to be refilled like you would with a growler at a brewery. Pretty good spot to hit up. I'd like to try some of the other menu items if we are back in the area.

Great chicken fingers, including the sauces. Well definitely be back next time for the amazing looking potato logs.

Soooooooo good. I love the house sauce but it is a little pricey for a dozen wings. $10 is a little much but they are worth it.

So naturally, I got the Brisket Platter which came with two sides. I was a little disappointed that they were out of baked beans but no big deal. The Brisket along with the two sides was very satisfying. Very good amounts of food and such a tender brisket! Interestingly, this place serves breakfast all day long. So my friend ordered the French Toast for dinner. I tried some and it was very well made! I really liked the syrup and the vanilla icing that came with it. Everything here was on point. The food, service, portions, and pricing. I have absolutely no complaints and wholeheartedly recommend Grillin N Chillin

The brisket was AMAZING!!!! The depth of flavor from the smokiness or the tender brisket to the bbq sauce on top - it was soooo good! The pulled pork was lean (my picky eating daughter ate it all)!! The chicken in the Soprano was super crispy and flavorful. The hot honey chicken was hot, but great! Next time, we'd ask for the sauce on the side so we could take the spice, but that's the only thing we'd change. So glad to have a place like this in north cape May! Highly recommend giving this place a go!!!!!

The food is always made very quickly to boot, I place the order on the phone and it's always been ready within 15 minutes. I would highly recommend any of their BBQ platters. They come in pretty big portions that allow for 2 sides on top of that. I also really like their Loaded Cheese Fries with Pulled Pork. Everything on their menu is delicious and has huge servings, you will always be satisfied after every meal from them. The only criticism I have of the place is that I wish they didn't close so early. They close their doors at 7PM which is prime dinnertime. I think they would make a lot more money if they stayed open for 2 hours later. I did have to skip them a few times I wanted their food because it was 7:30 and they were already closed. Having their menu online would help greatly too But other than that, it's an awesome place.

The bartender catered to the locals and had her little chitchat going. Do you restaurant owners not realize that there are people coming in and out of town at all times and on various days and we may work in service industries and maybe even the restaurants/hospitality industry I ordered whatever the burger is with the Gorgonzola cheese and it wasn't bad but it wasn't great. Between the burger the bun the tomato and the onion was hard to get your mouth around but it wasn't really worth it to stretch your mouth that far. You had a choice of fries or salad and I chose the fries. In all honesty I've been in Cape May for a week now and have eaten out nearly every day and had some outstanding fries and I would swear these were yesterday's fries if not yesterday's fries from somebody else's plate. I asked the bartender if these were the normal presentation of the fries she said "oh yes they're hand cut fries" my question would be hand cut when and fried when? They were overdone and mushy. . And after exchange the bartender adopted a pissy attitude. Here's my thing to the managers/owners of this establishment: I have worked in various forms in hospitality and customer service. I'm also an older person, consumer, frequent visitor of restaurants and bars. Take this however you will. It's a Tuesday afternoon... The servers and the service and the food should be exactly the fucking same as it is on Friday and Saturday night. Feel free to contact me if I said anything out of line. PS I'm an interim innkeeper in Cape May and I will definitely be steering people away from your restaurant even though I've had decent experiences in the past. There's too much competition out there for too few dollars. Smarten up

The beer selection is always impressive, with plenty of options to satisfy just about every taste. Service can be hit or miss depending on when you visit and who's working, but that's often the case at busy shore destinations. My family stops here on almost every trip to our home on the Cape May Bay, so we've experienced it at its best and busiest. The atmosphere is exactly what you'd expect from a popular shore restaurant. And yes, if you know about the bathroom situation, you know--it really deserves a permanent fix rather than another temporary patch. The menu offers something for everyone. The pizzas are consistently good, the bar food delivers exactly what you'd expect, and there are several signature dishes that are always reliable and full of flavor. When the restaurant gets crowded, you'll definitely notice it in both the service and the overall vibe, but that's just part of the shore experience. Overall, I'd recommend giving it a try. Go in with realistic expectations during peak times, and chances are you'll have a great meal. We almost always do, and I think you will too.

Everything was simply perfect, including Vicki, our veteran and down to earth waiter. When we are unsure of things, she provided expert guidance with kindness and wisdom. The mussels appetizer are an experience not to be missed - save the bread for lapping up its saucy juice. My wife loved the pork chop - its huge and she took half home for lunch. I devoured the blackened fish of the day over bok choy. Both simply were outstanding. If/when again in Cape May again, we'd certainly come back. With a reservation!

The atmosphere is classic dive bar--casual and laid-back--but the place could definitely use a thorough cleaning and a fresh coat of paint. We recently tried to eat here over the Fourth of July holiday. In hindsight, we knew it was a long shot, but we were hoping for the best. The quoted 75-minute wait wasn't surprising, so we decided to leave and dine elsewhere. Between the holiday crowds and people lingering to watch the beautiful sunset, getting a table was nearly impossible. The biggest frustration isn't the wait itself--it's that there are no reservations and no system to encourage table turnover. We watched several tables sit with empty plates while guests stayed to enjoy the sunset, even as others waited to eat. We came for dinner, not to watch the sunset...again. Yes, it's a dive bar, so some of these quirks come with the territory. Still, many of the issues are fixable. A reservation or waitlist management system, better table turnover during peak hours, and some general upkeep would go a long way toward creating a more enjoyable experience for everyone. We've visited when it's nearly empty and when it's packed, and these same issues seem to exist regardless of the crowd. With a few improvements, this could be a much more consistently enjoyable place for families and visitors alike.
