    Pork bone stew. Really good.
    Dawn B.

It seems some things have changed at wing chicx. Now they charge 2 dollars to put the sauce on the chicken......... free on the side, $2 to put it on the actual chicken...... the chicken is more expensive than other Korean places, now the $2 is ridiculous. I also found a long hair in our stew. They replaced it with a new stew that looked suspiciously the same. I could look past the hair, but the Nickel and diming cemented the fact I will not go back.

I've been attempting to try this place a couple times. The other evening my friend and I stopped by. Upon entering, we were promptly greeted, seated and given some advice about the chicken and spicy sauce. I had my order to go, I had the chicken wings with spicy sauce and one without for my friend to try. We went to run an errand and then came back, I decided to wait in the car a bit since I didn't think it would be ready......the waitress must have noticed us and brought my order out to me!! That was extremely above and beyond what she had to do, I thanked her and let her know she didn't have to do that and it was very nice. Upon trying the wings, even though mine were soaked in sauce they were still very crunchy and the flavour of the sauce was awesome! The meat was moist and succulent, I have zero complaints and now I need to go back try the deep fried chicken.

Lots o fried chicken! This place is tucked away in a business mall but from what I saw they have the clientele, the food, and the marketing to be a success long term. The chicken is actually quite crispy on the outside and moist in the inside but it is their other dishes that I appreciated more. Their fresh kimchi is made in house and provides good bite and flavor. I'm also a big fan of the seafood pancake. It comes with the traditional dipping sauce which other Korean places lack. The owner definitely understands how to market to his customers, engage with them, and showcase his passion for food and business. He is very hands on running food, processing payments, and getting extra sides upon request. He is the reason I'd go back here when I'm in the south side.

Arguably one of the best Korean Fried Chicken places in the city. When I say arguably, I mean, if somebody else says they've found a better Fried Chicken place I'll argue with them. Family run, and full of tasty fried chicken. Prices are $25 for a fried chicken or $15 for a half a chicken. Well worth it, the chicken comes out with a hot crispy skin and super moist meat. Be warned though it's blisteringly hot. You will get the chicken straight out of the fryer. No waiting in a hot plate area. This is in itself a bit torturous as you know you've got delicious chicken , and just want to take a huge bite of it. Wing Chix also serves a selection of free small Korean appetizers as soon as you sit down. They serve a variety of Korean dishes as well, but I've never had a chance to try them as I always go straight for the chicken. You can get it with the Korean sauce on the chicken, or with it on the side. If it's your first time I'd say get it half and half. Fast quick service, they are a fast/casual restaurant. Why did it get 5 stars? The Best Fried Chicken in the City or at least top 2. Free Parking $35 will get you a whole chicken and a pitcher of beer (bud or coors light)

As with all others - I came here with my usual expectation of a restaurant based on its reviews. Wing Chicx is actually quite a small cosy restaurant with lively bright decors. We ordered the famous fried chicken with sauce and the Potato Pork Bone Stew which came with a bowl of rice alongside a couple of complementary side dishes. The stew was very bland though it looked flavourful. A couple of dashes of salt and the sauce from the fried chicken was added into the stew to make it a tad more flavourful. Still, it wasn't great. The fried chicken was tender and nicely crisp. The sauce was lovely though my partner didn't like it at all. In my humble opinion, the famous fried chicken really isn't anything special or amazing to the extent that would blow me away. Service was really nothing near attentive. We weren't asked how the food was nor had our drinks filled up quickly when it was empty - keeping in mind that the restaurant is really small and had 2 servers with at least 2 tables each to serve. Unfortunately, it was very much below average experience all in all and sadly... I give it a two- star.

Used to come here when it was newly opened. Came back today to try it again with friends. Empty tables during lunch time was surprising. The seafood soup was not actually seafood-based as it was 99% tofu and 1 clam shell ($15). The rest of the orders were not as good either. The only consolation was that we were given twice of very small side dishes upon request - Very disappointed as this restaurant used to serve delicious Korean food.

It was my first time here at this well talked about Korean restaurant. My sister in law made resos the same day as she informed me that it gets crazy busy here and I am glad she did. We got there at 5:30pm and the place was already jam packed. They had about 10-12 tables mixed of booths and chair seating. I felt bad for the 2 servers that were running back and forth to the kitchen and tables along with the line up of people who were hoping to get take out. We had 3 adults and 2 kids under 10 yrs old. They were able to offer a high chair for my nephew which was nice as most places had booster seats only. The menu consisted a mix of photos to show newbies what to expect with certain dishes (which I found quite helpful). My sister in law did the ordering as she has been there numerous times. We decided on Korean bbq short ribs, bulgogi udon soup, seafood soontofu stew, wing Chicx fried chicken wings/drumsticks and bulgogi poutine. The dishes also came with 2 sides of rice and some pickled dishes. The bbq ribs came out on a sizzling hot plate and my was it ever delicious. The bulgogi udon soup was not anything special, as I felt like it was just udon noodles in a beef broth. The broth was a bit too salty for my taste. I found the fried chicken to be quite tasty and the skin was very crispy. I don't have fried chicken that often but it was fairly good. The seafood stew had amazing flavors and just the right level of spiciness with a good kick (wait till it cools off a bit before attempting to try it). I loved the mix vegetables and egg with some noodles that were in the broth. The poutine was a little different and I am glad that I tried it but not sure if I would get it again (too many cheese curds for my taste and not enough sauce). All the portions were a good size for the dishes I must say so decent value for what we paid (didn't see the bill as it was a birthday treat).

Came with a group of 4 on a Saturday night. We thought we were being clever by arriving at 5:45 to beat the dinner rush. Well, the restaurant is fairly small and we must have missed the 5:30 rush. Other would be patrons came up to the door and saw the lineup, then drove away. By the time we got seated 35 minutes later, three tables had vacated and there was not much of a wait for the rest of the night. Sorry, I'm not feeling the love for the fried chicken as much as everyone else. It was average fried chicken drenched in sauce that resembled sweet and sour with a little bit of spice. I wasn't a big fan of the seafood/pizza pancake either. A lot of onions, other vegetables and a bit of seafood done in a stir fry. The batter was bland and overpowering along with the onions. Seafood noodles - OK Seafood tofu stew - it looks great when they serve it to you because the soup is still boiling. Other than that I didn't care for it. It is more of a soup than a stew though, unless maybe a Korean stew is a soup? Not sure. It wasn't all bad news. The Korean short ribs were tasty and perfectly grilled. Served with rice, kimchi and bean sprouts, all on the side, the short ribs are the star of the show. A bit pricey at $18 but I would have been satisfied if I only had this dish all to myself.

I have been looking for a Korean BBQ restaurant close to home. In the heart of Elerslie- will be hard to find if not looking for it. Parking is shared with other businesses but not hard to get to. Hours of operation are decent but remember to reserve if wanting to go in the evening or weekend. Very pleasant staff and fast service. Waitress was friendly and provided explanations of dishes. My friend and I tried multiple dishes - mainly the chicken and Meat- although other options available. I have had Korean BBQ in other cities and including Edmonton and the taste of the food amazing. Came out hot and fresh. Pictures don't lie. Place for all to sit and enjoy- family friendly. Take out also available .

I went to Wing Chicx by invitation of a friend of mine. The menu is in Korean with the list of ingredients in English. I'm glad there are some pictures in the menu to have an idea what the dish is about. It is still confusing to know what to order if you are not familiar with the menu, so I just left my friend order for us. We ordered Korean bbq with a bowl of rice. Food was tasty. I went to the washroom to wash my hands but there was no soap. The washroom would really benefit from a facelift. The service was okay, the server didn't come too often to the table so I had to called her twice but maybe that's their way to give more privacy to the patrons. There is parking available but it is shared with the other stores in that mall. You might need to walk a little bit more but should be able to find where to park.

This place is awesome! My boys and I went here and ordered a feast. We had the bbq rib and it was delicious. Spicy and sweet. The spicy chicken was again spectacular and we shared a spicy seafood soup. All the dishes are fantastic. Our waitress Wes very friendly. Clean and lots of happy faces around restaurant. Another family ordered the fried chicken and the way they were devouring it, it must have been amazing. You will not go wrong coming to this hidden gem.

Ambiance was lively as the restaurant was busy. Restaurant was clean including the restrooms. There was plenty of free parking on the plaza. My only complaint is the price of the dumplings. We love kbbq but it's very expensive here in Edmonton, and there are only two in the city. It's located in an inconspicuous (weird if you ask me) spot, in a neighbourhood in front of a school. Parking wasn't that difficult to get. Upon arriving we waited 10 minutes for our reservation and we got seated. The vibe and atmosphere of this place is very family-run-authentic. The meats are served buffet style and you grab your own drinks from the soda fountain. Sides of lettuce, salad (my personal fave- amazing vinaigrette to cut the meat), kimchi, bean sprouts, etc. There were also a few variety of fried items. My favorite was the shrimp chips. They also have fried rice but no white rice. Which leads me to my next point-- Service: AMAZING!! One of the older ladies saw my boyfriend and I mixing our fried rice and kimchi to make kimchi fried rice. She asked if we wanted some sesame oil and seaweed to put into our fried rice to make it more bokkeum-bap!! She came back with a bottle of sesame oil and mixed it in for us. The only downsides: They put a piece of parchment paper over the grill which kind of absorbs all the juice. The selection of meat is very limited as well. For 2 people not including our alcohol, it came to about $75 for AYCE. Not too bad considering it's the only other kbbq place in town. Will definitely be regulars!

The space inside was nice and much bigger than it looked outside. There were a few diners when we got there, but still plenty of seating. We were seated, given the menus, and water (including a jug for the table, which I appreciated). The server told us that when we're ready to order to press the button on the side of the table. I love when restaurants do that. I ordered the Hanip to drink, which is a seasonal tea beverage, a non alcoholic type cocktail. I got the Japchae, which is a bowl of Japchae (glass noodles), beef bulgogi, spinach, carrots, onions with a shitake soy dressing. My friend got a coke and the Donkas, a breaded pork cutlet with a cabbage slaw. It also came with ketchup and bbq sauce on the side. Our food came out very fast; I don't think we waited more than 8 minutes, but our drinks hadn't arrived and the server said they'd be on the way. With our meals they brought out a small side of vegetables that included kimchi, bean spouts, radish (may have been daikon) with this delicious sauce, and mashed potatoes, plus a side of steamed rice. I'm not sure if the veggies and rice were for my meal or my friend's or for the table, but we both enjoyed it. I really liked the radish dish. Our meals were also delicious. My friend's pork cutlet was massive and she said it was really good. I loved the Japchae, it was savoury and comforting. I had been debating about ordering one of the full vegetable dishes like the eggplant or cucumber salad, but the serving sizes are decent and I wasn't hungry. The downside was they forgot about our drinks. I kept waiting and finally partway through our meal I pressed the button and asked about our drinks, and they had completely forgotten. The server (a different one from before) apologized. My friend's coke came out right after that and my drink took a few minutes to make. I do understand things get missed (I've worked in restaurants before), but it also wasn't very busy. So I can't give Hanjan 5-stars because of this but it was still a really meal. Both my friend and I said we'd go back again.

The tomatoes and scallions added a nice freshness and slight acidity to the overall dish. Lastly the bulgogi was just *chef's kiss*. I don't really know how else to explain it other than the Bulgogi Fries were a well-balanced dish. We were scooping every single missed vegetable in the sauce after we demolished the fries. The Padak (Soy Garlic) fried chicken was so tasty. Whenever I get wings, my go-to is pretty much anything soy garlic, or anything included garlic. The fried chicken skin was the best part. Great texture, crunchy, crispy, wonderful flavor. It was a great blend of savory, umami, and garlic. And the green onions on top was a great addition. Portion size for both things we ordered was perfect for the two of us. Also, don't even get me started on the banchans. Great kimchi, radish kimchi was so refreshing, and that mashed potato side? Terrific. We asked for more banchan when we were done. Lastly, we came back the very next day to try the desserts. At first, I wanted to pick one dessert to share between me and my boyfriend but it was so difficult to choose one. So we got both lol. We ordered the Injeolmie Waffle, Honey Butter Bread, and tried some of my cousin's Strawberry Bingsu. The Injeolmi Waffle itself was delicious, sweet but not too sweet. The ice cream added that sweetness and the almonds on top were nice. And the Honey Butter Bread? Wow. The milk bread and the fresh whipped cream were fluffy, light, and not too sweet. I would go back again in a heartbeat. If I was in the neighborhood, I would be a regular. And when I give a place 5 stars, 5 stars to me means: take my money and I might dangerously spend too much of my paycheck here. Which is what I did, but no regrets. I will not stop talking about this place. 10's all across the board for me! Love you Hanjan.

Otherwise it is a large restaurant, pretty non descript in nature but clean and orderly. I like that after you are seated, and you get your menus you ring a doorbell at your table when you are ready. I like this. The servers are not running around ragged. Great menu - lots of selections. We ordered a lot of different items - Gamja Tang - Spicy, hearty pork bone soup with potatoes, green onions, hot peppers, and ground sesame seeds. Galbi - Beef short ribs soaked in a sweet soy marinade and grilled. Cheese Buldak - Korean Fire Chicken, tender chicken coated in a spicy gochujang sauce with rice cakes, potatoes, and mozzarella cheese melted on top, and soy garlic fried chicken. It also came with some steamed rice and banchan which is small appetizers of pickeled vegs. Everything was delicous but my favourite was the gamja tang. Delicous! Despite our freezing we also splurged on the mango bingsu - shaved ice dessert topped with fresh mangoes, ice cream, and condensed milk. Delicous but we walked out like popsicles. I will have to come back in summer :)

The pork in the soup is one of the best I've had from all the Gam Ja Tangs in Edmonton - nice cuts, good flavour, and perfect cookedness. The vegetables have been really fresh and cooked well. One thing to note is that the soup isn't very spicy. Overall, I'd give them 8.8/10

It's definitely a cozy spot better equipped to serve smaller groups than larger parties. The menu is pretty straightforward with just enough variety so that everyone would probably find something they'd be interested in. I ordered a Bulgogi (stir-fried marinated beef) that came with rice and some banchan, then I also got a separate appetizer of Mandu (fried chicken dumplings). All the food was as expected and I can't really complain about anything. The bulgogi was cooked to perfection, the mandu was crispy and soft as a fried dumpling should be. The portions are large and is just the right amount for a meal if you eat like me, or a meal and some leftovers if you eat less. I wasn't in a rush and enjoyed my meal, they checked how I was doing a few times but never felt pushy. Super friendly and very prompt service. I'd try some other things next time I went. Go with a small group of 4 and try a few different dishes that you can share is my advice.

My order was ready within the time frame given by the restaurant. The lady who helped me greeted me immediately when I walked into the restaurant, and was quick to assist me. The Sweet Soy Chicken Bites had a light, crisp batter and the sauce was tasty and not too thick. The Cheese Corn dog was huge and had the perfect cheese to batter ratio. I recommend this restaurant if you enjoy Korean street food.

It is a fast food joint, so don't expect much for atmosphere or comfortablity. And the chick behind the counter wasn't really helpful or friendly. She reminded me of someone that is disgruntled in life and needs to be doing something else. That being said, food was great. Nice selection of street food. We grabbed a selection of things - ramen, bulgogi bibimbab, sausage mozza corn dog, sweet butter fries, tuna mayo kimbab, and garlic soy chicken bites as well as two bubble teas. Food came out extemely fast. It was hot and tasted fresh. My family enjoyed their ramen. I really liked the bulgogi bibimbab. Good portion size, and a good ratio of meat to veggies. Beef was well seasoned. my kid had the spicy pork cutlet ramen and I sampled the broth. It was really spicy and delicous. Chicken bites were good but not outstandish. Birthday kid wolfed down the fries and corn dog. If you like these things, you really need to come here. The Kimbab was fresh but I was hoping for a bit more flavours in it. The bubble tea was fine but a bit sweet for my liking. However, if you need a quick bite to eat and are in the area, choose this over any fast food establishment. About the same in price point, and way better flavours and freshness. This would also make a good take out for a picnic.
