Location. Food. Service. Ambiance! All were a great part of the experience we had for a night out.

The Moon and the Restaurant's outdoor sign.

The menu does not offer many vegetarian options, the fondue came to the table cold, the fire was not lit under the pot we had to light it ourself, the main vegetarian pasta was super bland, did not have mushrooms inside as the menu claimed, salt is not kept on the table so had to wait a long time before just flagging down a server who was not ours to bring some. Our server seemed happy enough, he wasn't chatty, did his job nothing exceptional but seemed like a nice enough guy. The restaurant is little and a little cramped. Tables are definitely closer that I would have liked. Having a conversation and strangers on both sides of you are right in the conversation. Loved how later there's a dj and the vibe becomes more dance club in your seat.

Espresso cocktail

Ordered two espresso martinis on the rooftop that tasted like chocolate milk mixed with vodka, which ended up being 40$ with tip, you're not Toronto sweetie. The service was abysmal. As for the ambiance, if you're looking to be surrounded by youths then it's great, the only positive was the rooftop. And also to point out the glasses are spray painted, is the spray paint edible, who knows?

Love the decor and vibe of this place on a Thursday night. Wish I was hungry enough to try the pizza. I had the jumbo shrimp with salsa under the shareable menu. It was very spicy for me, but I'm a wimp when it comes to spicy food. Flavor was great though. I also got the chocolate fondue for two. I tried to eat it all by myself, but failed. It's just melted milk chocolate, nothing out of the ordinary, but I appreciate how much chocolate and sides it came with. Asked the bartender for a recommendation on wine. He poured me a very delicious glass of Malbec. I also had a glass of port wine. Not the greatest I've had, but glad they had it, even though it wasn't on the menu. Drinks are reasonably priced.

We went to Wineology during COVID and this restaurant is clearly making accommodations to serve the community of Kingsville. Not only is there a patio set up on Main Street, but there is a hidden roof top patio around the back of the restaurant. We were lucky enough to get one of the three tables on the roof top. This restaurant does wine flights and allows you to sample different types of varietals from regions around the globe. They say they do 2 oz pours but let me tell you that the bartender was extraordinarily generous with the wine sample pours. I was slightly disappointed being in wine country that there was no local wine tasting option on the menu. For dinner we started with the goat cheese and beet salad and the halloumi salad. Although the portions were quite ample these salads were very generic and nothing special. We then had the spicy shrimp with pineapple and chorizo salsa. The shrimp were cooked perfectly and the sauce had the right balance of creamy, sweet and spicy. We finished the meal off with a gluten free pizza with spinach, tomato sauce and prosciutto. I am normally not a fan of a crispy crust but this gluten free dough had a crispy exterior with a slight chew to its interior. If you're gluten free and like thin crust pizza, then this Resto has the pie for you! Overall, Wineology is definitely a hidden gem hot spot amoung the locals of Kingsville and sets a trendy vibe for a night on the town.

My immediate impression when I walked in was that I was at the old Spago's Trattoria: heavy stone and wood decor, dim lighting, with an enormous pizza oven anchoring the room. I liked it. Between the dim lighting and Ray Charles softly playing, I felt pretty relaxed right away. I sat down at the bar and perused their wines available by the glass, which was quite a lengthy list. I had a glass of California Chardonnay, which I loved, and a glass of Côte du Rhone. The Chardonnay was accurately described by my server, Tina, as smooth yet very full bodied. I was extremely impressed that each wine I ordered had proper corresponding stemware, I haven't seen that in Windsor before. I had oysters, a meat and cheese platter, and a pizza. The oysters were big, briny, well-shucked Malpecs, which is hard not to like. The meat and cheese platter costs $25 but is extremely generous. It had five different cheeses and four different meats, as well as some bread, olives, dried fruit, nuts, as well as some fig jam infused with red wine. None of the cheeses or meats were spectacular on their own, but as something to snack on with wine, it works well. I had Vince's Pizza, which is topped with figs and prosciutto. It was a little dry, it could have done with a little olive oil or drizzle of balsamic, but again as a casual snack, it's tasty. The service was undeniably terrific. Tina seemed to know what she was doing, though she did refer to my Chardonnay as a Napa Chardonnay, which is untrue because it's actually a blend of grapes from three different counties, one of which is Napa. But she was very kind. She went above and beyond by giving me change when she said she saw parking services eyeing my car. I have heard that when it gets busy here, service takes a slight hit. That's always going to be the case to a degree. But, since it wasn't busy at all - I was there shortly after it opened - and my service was spot on, I can't speak to that much. The reserve list of wines by the bottle looked pretty cool as well, wish I had more time or was with a bigger group. Would have loved to try the French Sauvignon Blanc by the bottle. Wineology is certainly imperfect, and there are things to nitpick about the wine list. I dislike the focus on local wine, it's nice to have some local wines but within reason. I understand that they'll sell, though. I also wish they had some more high end glass pours that aren't from Italy. It's a personal preference for me, though, because I've never been an Italian wine fanatic. My final minor gripe would be that I wish they had some more Pinot noir, other than the one from Ontario, available by the glass. This place is a great start for a city like Windsor. A friend told me before that Wineology isn't a place to go if you want to have dinner, it's a spot for wine and snacks. And I think that's really the best way to summarize it.

We had the set menu for NYE. We had a party of 4 couples and three of the couples ordered the cheese and charcuterie platters. They all came out very different in sizes and the amount of meats and cheeses. The one couple didn't get raspberry jam or dried fruit or prosciutto. The main course, the filets with goat cheese, were all cold. We suggest that they should heat the plates or make sure the food is warm.

Wine flights? Mind. Blown. Whether you're a novice or know more about wine than you're willing to admit to your doctor this place allows you to dabble with a variety of wines around the world without breaking your wallet. Ambiance was trendy/swanky hence the crowd of #girlsnightout parties with some intimate date night couples trickled in between. One star missing simply because I didn't get to try any main meals.

Waitress asked if I had any allergies, I said no but my friend joining me soon was gluten free. My friend still had to specifically request the gluten free menu when she got there, after looking at the regular menu & not finding any markings of what food was gluten free. It would have been nice if the waitress had just brought it right away. I had the lunch size Gnocchi Carbonara, which was delicious! I did have the suggested wine pairing, which was very good with my food. And what a great idea to offer some lunch sized portions of some of the dishes (ends at 3pm). My friend had the gluten free grilled mahi mahi sandwich & side of Asian slaw, which she enjoyed. They weren't super busy & we sat quite awhile to chat. Really enjoyed it & will definitely go back. Looking forward to trying some of the other menu items!

But I found it odd that the bar didn't have any chairs. Our server (I think his name was Darren, or something like that?) was very good. He explained about the bin numbers next to the entree descriptions and was just generally kind and helpful. Several people ordered salads, and they looked very good. I had the Parmesan crusted chicken from their Life Balance section. I enjoyed it very much. I don't usually like warm tomatoes, but the ones in this dish were really good. Honestly, I'm surprised that this was a lower calorie dish, as it certainly was plentiful, filling and satisfying.

There are animals to pet, wide open views, and it's right on their property but designed in a way that still feels like a public space. I wanted to keep loving this place. I really did. But the energy has completely shifted. I've been here multiple times now, and every single experience with the owners has left me feeling tense and unwelcome. The final straw came after a couple of situations that made it clear this place is no longer what it used to be. One time, my son climbed onto a tractor that was left completely open. No signs. No fencing. And the keys were literally in the ignition. I was already walking over to get him down when the owner came out and screamed at me. No grace, no calm explanation, just full-volume yelling in front of everyone. I was mortified. It shook me up for the rest of the day. Another time, we were just a few minutes early and waiting by the entrance, not bothering anyone, just sitting in the car. Again, she came out yelling, like we had broken some rule by showing up early. And then, the husband. I watched him get belligerent with another guest. He was mocking him loudly and making a scene in front of other people. It was really uncomfortable to witness. No matter what the situation was, that is not how you treat paying customers. I don't know what happened here. Maybe as the place got more popular, the stress got to them. But somewhere along the way, they seem to have lost the heart for hospitality. I never write reviews like this, but I'm sharing it because this place has so much potential. It used to feel like a happy little secret. Now it just feels heavy. To the owners, I truly hope you hear this for what it is. You've built something beautiful. People want to come here and enjoy what you've created. But you cannot treat guests like this and expect them to keep coming back. I hope one day the warmth returns. I really do. But until that happens, I won't be back.

I get it, same longitude and wines should grow similar and all that jazz, but Michigan wines outside of the sweeter styles really never taste right to me. Well whatever they are doing here is nothing short of scientifically brilliant. Probably some of the best MItten Vino I have ever had and that assessement is from traveling all around the state and trying different areas. The Frontenac, Petite Pearl, Marquette were my favorites by far. But my five stars isn't for the wine, it's for the sheer joy this place brings me. Absolutely beautiful campus with sheep and goats and a big white furball of a dog who looks so adorable but is trained to kill any possible threat to his wards. The large barn event space and indoor seating is nothing short of gorgeous and of course sitting outside is just pure joy. I will add more pics as I come across them.

I'm more of a dry-wine person, and honestly I probably only enjoy about 5% of the menu, but I will say the prices are great and the menu is huge. There's truly something for everyone, just maybe not for the dry crowd. I do appreciate that they offer snacks for purchase and the wine club is actually a great deal. Service: This is where it slipped for me. I've been to other St. Julian locations and had genuinely great experiences, so I know the bar is higher. Here, the service was just ok. The staff didn't seem very engaged and gave off more "going through the motions" than "happy to have you here." It felt like regulars got the warm treatment, while everyone else was kind of an afterthought, which was a bummer. Ambiance: It's always packed, which says something, but the space itself feels cold and a little warehouse-y. I really wish this location had that cozy, homey winery vibe the others do. The energy is busy but not welcoming, and the location doesn't help much either. If I could give one suggestion to the team, it'd be to soften the space and the experience a bit, warmer lighting, more interaction, something that makes people want to linger instead of just drink and leave. I know this place can be great, it just doesn't quite get there yet.
