This store is huge. Even though I asked for an obscure bottle of Moscato (which the website said they had but I couldn't find in the Moscato section) the employee I asked immediately directed me to the Kosher section where it was (yay!). There are rows and rows of wine, beer, and liquor. It wasn't quite as big as some of the warehouse type stores I'm used to in the Baltimore area, but those stores don't carry either of the wines I was looking for. My husband and I walked out with 7 bottles of wine for around $100. If we lived nearby, we would've definitely paid more attention to the cheese section, which looked quite good. Another thing we would take advantage of if we lived in the area was the chill machine... I can't believe I've never seen one of those before, but I imagine it's extremely helpful if your bringing a bottle somewhere and need it quickly chilled. My son and daughter-in-law just moved to Marlton from Atlanta. Was shopping on-line for a house warming gift for them. Received excellent assistance and service from Christine, the manager, who arranged the purchase over the phone for my son to pick up later. She even conferenced in her "wine guy" to make sure the order was correct and then "dressed up" the gift as it was for a special occasion. I went into this store to look for a very specific beer and a very specific whisky. They don't carry the beer (which is fine) and they were out of the whisky (it was said to be due in again on Friday). I didn't have a problem with the fact that I didn't get to leave with any of my targeted picks, but I was a little disappointed in the service. I was in there for about five minutes slowly searching the whisky and beer aisles looking for what I wanted and no one came to offer help (or even seemed to be walking around the store checking on anything). I finally went to the front to ask for help and the guy I encountered frankly wasn't all that helpful. He had to make a phone call to a guy twice to find out if they had what I wanted. I also noted that while he was helping me, he picked up a piece of trash from the floor (win!) but left the spray bottle of cleaner that was right next to the trash right on the floor where it was (fail!). Now, with all of this being said (I left without what I wanted/couldn't find any great help), it was really a pretty nice store. I can see why a lot of people gave the store a four or a five and I wouldn't hesitate to stop back in again. They had a lot of nice displays up front with signage that described the wines there as well as some ratings to help guide the selection. The store was huge and because of it's size, they seemed likely to have a good selection. I thought the beer selection was fairly large but I didn't see anything that was really unique. I also noted some seasonal beers that get released around Halloween or before that might be reaching the end of their shelf life by this point in December -- it's hard to say because I don't go to this store all the time, but it gave me pause because those beers have been long gone from my local beer stores. I would love to go back when I have more time to check out all of the wines -- given the name of the store, it's not surprising that this seems to be their big draw. I think today's main issue was a service issue, but judging by what others have to say, this doesn't seem to consistently be the case. read more

Can't express how much I love this store. From all the wine to the great craft selection. Shelves are always full and the staff is always helpful. My husband and I are also thrilled to see a return of the beer emails. We've had time to talk to the new beer manager and we're excited to see some of the ideas he has come to fruition. I have friends who live close to this store and they told me it was worth a trip. I usually shop at Total Wine. Staff was very friendly. I guess I'm spoiled from shopping at Total Wine because the selection of wine, liquor and beer couldn't even come close to TW's selection. The prices were definitely higher than TW's as well. They were happy to look up many of the items that I usually buy at TW but didn't have most of them even though they told me they have the same distributor. The few that they did have were much higher than TW for the same exact item. If you're paying cash and need a receipt, make sure to ask for one. They don't give one and don't even offer you one. Kind of odd. I had to become a member of their "club" in order receive the sale or "club" price on a few items. Wasn't impressed and won't ever go back. Don't waste your time. Of the 10,000 or so liquor stores in South Jersey, this one has the best wine selection, especially if you're looking for old school and/or so-called "natural" wines from Europe. They carry a number of wines, for example, imported by Louis/Dressner, who is probably one of the best importers of that kind of wine. I make it a point to stop here pretty much every time I'm running errands in South Jersey. My advice, though, is that if you're looking for something particular, check their website first. From my experience, about half of the wines that I've purchased here are listed cheaper on their website, but they'll honor web price in the store if you ask. read more

I generally buy single malts and small batch bourbons and while the selection is better than most liquor stores in the area, the prices are on the high side. You'll pay $5.00 more per bottle at Wineworks for Highland Park 12, Woodford Reserve or Macallan 12 as compared with TotalWine on Rt. 38 near the Cherry Hill Mall. If you're shopping for a popular whisky, you're better off going to one of the Canal's or Total Wine, but if you're looking for that rarer bottle, like Connemara Peated Malt, you might want to give Wine Works a try. read more

I was in the store on Sat, May 21, 2016 for a group wine tasting and had a great time. I saw what I thought was a good deal on some sake online. Great! I placed an order. The short version: They sold me something they did not have. They sent me something I did not order. They wasted a lot of my time, and did nothing to make up for it. The best thing I can say about them is that they gave me my money back. I will never buy from them again. Why would you? They sent the wrong (cheaper, of course) stuff, although the order form was crystal clear as to what I had ordered and what I should have been receiving. Then they said they would send the stuff I had ordered "as soon as we get confirmation of the return shipment from UPS". Then they said, Not until we receive the package. Charlie and his team have assembled probably the best assortment of wine in south Jersey. However two major issues are as follows: 1. The shelf talkers that describe the wine on the shelf are MORE OFTEN THAN NOT different than the wine on the shelf. By way of example the shelf talker describes the 2012 Pinot Noir yet low and behold the 2013 is on the shelf. Shame shame. 2. You must check that you get the club member discount when you check out. The cashiers ask if you are a club member yet the cash registers do not speak English. Come on Charlie these are easy fixes. The shelf talkers being wrong is really a cardinal sin. read more

I am a repeat customer of Wine Works and really think this is the best liquor/beer/wine stop one can make. They even have a nice selection of cigars from what my friends that frequent the joint say, but I don't smoke them so I don't know. With that said it is a one stop shop for all "partying" needs. The customer service there was wonderful and the deal for 4 tastings of wine, for day, for life, for $10......That almost sounds criminal, but I'll take it. I am a repeat customer of Wine Works in Marlton, but after today I don't think I will be coming back. I stopped there to pick up all the things that I needed for a party that I'm having this weekend. I purchased a cooler case of Landshark beer for $25.99 which I was fine with. I stop at a different liquor store on my way home to get the rest of what I needed and saw the same thing advertised for $14.99. We then call back over to Wine Works to explain the situation and ask if they can either price match or return our purchase since we would have to drive all the way back when we live about a half hour away. The manager we talked to was extremely rude and tried to make it like we were doing something wrong when we were only trying to see if there was anything that they could do. The manager, Dan Carroll, then continues to be rude and after we tell him that we will be returning it he hangs up on us. When we arrive back at their store, we are completely calm when returning the beer. He then continues to be extremely rude and offended and talks about us to his co-worker while we are standing right there. Then he goes off about the fact that there's no way it could be that price after we show him a picture of the other stores set up of the cooler cases. After going to this store many times in the past, after this poor experience I will not be returning. read more

This store has some good and bad points. The good is that it has a great selection of wines, some esoteric hard to get ones from California, for example, Erna Schein, White Rocks, and many more. They also have a tasting machine where you insert your wine card ( a one time charge of $5) and get up to 4 tastes of different wines. Of course, the wines selected are always the lower priced ones. Sometimes, they let the bottles run out and don't let you know so you get just air when you put your card in and it counts as a taste. The store is large and beautiful. The really bad part is that contrary to other reviewers the prices are on the high side unless you prepurchase the wine via their internet site or they are (rarely) advertized in the store at a "club price." I have gone in and made a point about it and if you get a manager or owner they are very nice about giving me the lower price, but it is not convenient. Canals Bottlestop, a close competitor, which has been around for while has better prices and and a great selection.. It is not nearly as attractive a store but all you have to do is sign up for free for their wine club and you get the low prices just by giving your name to the cashier. As far as prices are concerned, they are fairly compatible but you have to prepay for the wine at Wine Works first before coming into the store and at Canals you can browse and then buy whatever you want at the low price. For example, Wine Works sells Freeman Pinot on the shelf for $48 while you get it at Canals for $37. Wine Works internet price is $43. Rombauer Chardonnay is $28 at Canals and shelf price $32 at Wine Works unless you pay for it at their internet site first or talk to a manager. Don't get me wrong, its a very nice store and located a couple stores down from the best supermarket in the area so its convenient. Until they allow me to just give my name and automatically get their internet prices I will continue to shop at Canals. unless Wine works has something I can only get there. read more

I love this place. I sometimes stop here on my way home from work or will even go out of my way to come here. The employees there are usually so helpful. I love the wine tasting area! I bought a card for only $10 to use for life for the self-serve wine tasting machines. If you run out of credits on your card, an employee there will quickly charge up your card. It is such a great way to discover new wines and buy decent bottles of wine for others as gifts. Everything is so neatly organized and fully stocked. I recommend this place to everyone I talk to! I stopped in to get 2 bottles of wine as a gift, spending $32.00. I usually come here because it is convenient for when I shop at Kohls or Shop Rite. After I brought my purchase to my car, I realized I should have gotten a small box to wrap them in. So I re-entered the store and selected a box among their wall of empty boxes...probably 200 or more there. As I was leaving, a young girl stopped me and said "we really need these boxes for our customers for the holidays". I said, you know I just bought 2 bottles of wine and decided I needed a box."She said, "oh I know you did, but we need to save these to use for customers who buy more.". I was taken aback and was shocked at what I considered poor customer service. So I don't get a free discarded box because I only bought 2 bottles on this visit? Wineworks...u better teach your cashiers to have more respect for customers. It was not like I walked off the street and was taking a box, or even was taking several. I have ordered from them a few times online and overall I would recommend them- they have fairly good customer service- respond to emails etc. Condition of wines could be somewhat better but overall again they are good to deal with- got a recent shipment and all bottles( red and white) were quite cold- not sure they should have been shipped out in very cold weather- I had to put them in wine storage temp and couldn't leave them out once they were shipped. overall a good selection and good pricing. read more

When checking out make sure you double check the price scanner. On MULTIPLE occasions, items frequently scan above what heir shelf price indicates. I am certain Wineworks makes a fortune from overcharging heir customers. I am local and frequent the establishment. It may be only a few dollars at a time but it adds up and is a fortune in principle alone. Oh, and when corrected, certain managers are less then friendly. This was my first time in the store, and have mixed opinions. It was alright, the selection was probably the best Ive seen, and the prices didnt vary too much from the other local stores. The only real problem I had with the place was the sound track, and the fat guy sitting at the middle desk. The sound track isnt a big problem, you can drown it out, and you dont have to deal with it much if you arent there for a while, but its annoying none the less. The main problem I had with the store was the portly gentleman (and I use the term loosely) sitting at the desk in the middle of the store. I asked him if he could help me find a beer, and he got very flustered and started saying something over the phone. I couldnt really understand him, but somebody else came up and assisted me. Clearly he was not the beer guy, but when it came time for me to find my wine, I asked him again. This time he didnt use the phone, but he mumbled something to me that I couldnt understand, and pointed towards the entrance. I walked in that direction, and couldnt find the bottle I was looking for. When I went back to him he mumbled at another employee and he took me to a different area of the store, where I found the bottle. Although they have a large variety of wine and beer, their customer service is the worst I have ever experienced. When I have shopped there, I have never been asked if I needed assistance or recommendations for my purchases. The staff is rude and does not take the initiative to assist their patrons. Recently I was looking for a product and when I asked the wine manager... who I had to wait for him to look up from his phone.. I was rudely advised that he was the wine guy and didn't know. Disappointing exp today. Bought a small $3.99 champagne and 6 pack beer $9.99. There was an American Indian I believe who was at the cash counter. She billed both the champagne and the beer and charged us $28 change. The amount did not sound right so I asked her what is the price of each. Without checking and hesitating she said champagne (3.99) is 10.99 and Beer is 14 change and the total is 28. I insisted her to check the price again apparently she charged for a 4 pk champagne. By the time she already swiped my card and I was charged. She had to call her Manager and he corrected the price and made another payment. After all this she did not apologize she did ask sorry for what happened she was so rude and she is not fit to be at the counter. She just asked to sign the receipt and thats it. This is not the the way to treat the customer. She was wrong for ringing incorrect item, she was wrong proving that what she rang is correct she did not apologize for what happened. I've long been a fan of the Bottlestop in Marlton because of just one reason, the wine manager Charlie. I went there last week and was told that Charlie was on vacation, and getting help from anyone else turned into a bit of a project. I decided to check out the new store in town, WineWorks which is in the shopping center where the Shoprite is located. What a difference. A well lit, beautifully maintained and friendly staffed liquor store that this area really needed. A marked difference from the store I've been used to, where the dingy atmosphere and controlled disorganization are only outweighed by Charlie's presence. At wineworks I was helped by one of the owners and a gentleman named Vladi. But even if they weren't around everything is labeled, priced and described, much too easy to shop. Pricing is competitive, with some items being higher and some being lower than Bottlestop, and selection is awesome. A little disappointed in their dessert wines selection, but that's something they can work on. One visit to this place and I'm hooked. Sorry Charlie, there's a better tuna around read more

When I walked in a few days ago I went right over to the owner/manager? who was standing right in the front of the store (he was older, tall, and had white hair-not sure his name), but I started to ask him a question and he cut me off right as I began to speak and was so rude!! He was very short with me like I was inconveniencing him by asking a simple 3 second question and said "you have to ask her your question" and pointed to the female cashier. I did not appreciate his attitude, tone, and how he treated me as a customer that planned on purchasing items from his store. The cashier was very nice and helpful, but based off of how he spoke to me I decided he will not receive my business!! As a manager/owner there is a way you should know how to speak to your customers, especially having a nicer tone and simply saying "I am sorry I am unable to assist you right now, but the cashier over there will be able to help you." If he is unable to know the basics of being a manager/owner than maybe he should change his career. This was my first and LAST time in the store. read more
