The patio of Wine Time at dusk is magical! They have created a very intimate space that feels like you're sitting in the courtyard of an estate... not a restaurant. The service was exceptional and there were plenty of options for our vegan friends. I (not vegan) wish there was a more diverse or robust selection of small plates / appetizers, but what we did order was delicious. My only real gripe is their limited hours. I would love if they opened earlier, and were open Sundays!

Drove by and saw the Tap Room sign but realized it was closed. Saw Wine Time directly across the parking lot and decided to check it out with some friends for drinks before dinner. There are about 6-8 tables or seating areas set up outside per Covid regulations. We walked up asking if there was any availability for a party of 3. There were several open tables but were told they were fully booked but they "would check". A few minutes later the host came back and said there was just one table left. We were seated promptly and given a menu, wine list, and beer menu. I ordered a glass of the Foxglove cab which was nice. Covid rules require food items purchased on the same tab as alcohol so we ordered their meat and cheese platter and fresh vegan spring rolls. The spring rolls, two pieces, were delicious. I loved the pistachio dipping sauce. The service was friendly and attentive. We had a great time there with good food and great company.

New wine tasting venue has opened in Chico. Great wine selection. Also has a terrific menu of small plate foods.

Had the chance to revisit Crush recently while passing through Chico. It really held up. We made a…read morereservation so we could be sure to get in this time. We were promptly seated, and given a great spot near the wall-sized indoor fountain which was nice. We started with cocktails and appetizers, and they all came out quickly. We started with bread, which was excellent. We moved on to the grilled artichokes, which were also pretty special. The jalapeno aioli added to the smokiness of the grilled artichokes. We loved them. The bib salad was also a treat - nice chop, and the lardons were perfectly cooked little flavor bombs that stood up nicely to the blue cheese. We had the lobseter ravioli, and the single-layer crispy lasagne for our meals. The lobster ravioli was delicious, and the freshly made sundried tomatoes added a little extra structure to balance the plate. The single layer lasagne was really interesting. Wasn't sure what to expect, and the server said it was a little controversial, so I tried it. It came out as a large sheet - fresh spinach pasta sheets, layered with a delicious bolognese sauce, and topped with pesto and bechamel. Unconventional? Yes. Delicious? YES! I'm so glad I was feeling experimental - it was an innovative dish. Overall, we loved it. Service was very solid - attentive, without being intrusive. Perfect evening! Previous review: Dropped in here just to check it out. We came early on Thursday, and it was jumping! Got a seat at the Kitchen bar to have a few apps, and a cocktail, and had a fantastic snack and talked with some great folks in the kitchen. Pizza is fantastic wood -oven style, and the service was great. Wish I had photos - but I'll save those for the next time i visit and do a more thorough tour of the menu.

In the past we came for Happy Hour as their appetizers, pizzas, and small plates are delicious. Yesterday we decided Crush was the place for our 14-year anniversary, and it exceeded expectations. The food was delicious as always (I had the Allen Prime Rib and my wife had the Short Rib Stroganoff). But what took it over the top was our server - Ethan. He was friendly, warm, personable, attentive, and on top of everything. Being at a great restaurant with great food is only a GOOD experience if your server is disengaged, but when your server is awesome, it elevates everything. My wife and I ended the evening highly satisfied and grateful. Thank you Crush (and Ethan) for such a great anniversary night.

An absolute gem in Chico. Third dinner in Chico and was hands down the best!…read more They stars of the evening was the cocktail list and the service. Food was also very good but didn't stand out quite as much. We came in on a Tuesday night in large part because Crush was closed which was our first choice for the third dinner in Chico. We had already eaten as 5th St Steakhouse and the Sierra Nevada Taproom on earlier nights and I would only pick Sierra Nevada over this place because it's such an institution if you've never been there before. Otherwise this is my current top pic in Chico. Our server was really great. Checked in often and accommodating to ask about minor modifications to cocktails (mostly light syrup requests). When I see a restaurant cocktail menu I usually see 1-2 things that sound good but they have a great cocktail list where half sounded great. Started off with a Passionfruit Porto Sour and they accommodated a request for 1/2 simple syrup on it. It was good. My dinner mate got a Pomegranate Ginger Martini which was good enough to order a second later. We also were able to squeeze in a couple of happy hour apps. The Roman artichokes and shrimp gambas were good and easy to share. They also start you off with a little biscuit amuse bouche with compound butter but it was a miss. Very dense and not super flavorful or right out of the oven. The compound butter wasn't good enough to salvage it either. That bite was probably the worse of the night which is a positive. I got eh ribeye with salsa verde, broccolini and fingering potatoes which was good. They were a little heavy handed for my taste with the salsa verde but was ok because it was thick enough to scape partially off and it wasn't too salty and tasty. Just too much covering the steak. The steak itself was ok and already cut into strips but not a standout. The steak at 5th Street was better cut and cooked piece of meat. The broccolini was fine as well but the best thing on the plate was the fingerling potatoes and I'm not a potatoes person. They were partially smashed and cooked well enough to have some crispy outside. Dinner mate had the grilled petite tender which was a filet with a nice fruit glaze and they liked it but I didn't try. I ordered a second cocktail in the form of a coffee Negroni which I had never had before and was eager to try but was told they ran out because they pre-batch it. I got an east side instead off menu and it was solid. We followed up with a chocolate martini and a penicillin (1/2 honey) which was a nice end. Friendly attentive service, great drinks and solid food. We ate on a nice outdoor patio which was nice in the warm weather but there were a lot of flies and the table tops have ridges which made the cocktails on there dicey. Overall strongly recommend!

Apparently this is one of the better restaurants in Chico. It is a bit upscale with both indoor and…read moreoutdoor patio seating. I found the interior to be somewhat dark and gloomy. The carpet in particular is somewhat outdated and very dreary. We were seated right away with an evening reservation. Our server was the most delightful, helpful as well as professional person. She definitely made for an enjoyable experience. The menu is nicely broad with some very good and interesting selections. For an appetizer I selected the Alsatian Tarte Flambe. With the description of a "tarte" plus "puffed pastry" I was somewhat surprised when what looked like a flatbread arrived. Although somewhat true to the description I expected something like a cup shaped pastry. It was delicious enough so no complaints over the ingredients and flavor. If anything it tasted a bit top heavy with vinegar, yet still enjoyable. I washed it down with a Schramsberg Prosecco which was a perfect accompaniment. For an entree I choose the Grilled 6oz Petit Tender (medium rare) with asparagus and scalloped potatoes topped by a red wine and berry sauce. It was excellent, flavorful with the meat very tender. I was very pleased. It was an abundant portion so I was quite full after consuming it. My dining companion had the grilled meatloaf with ground filet mignon and pork sausage. It is baked and then grilled. I tried some and it is EPIC. It has to be one of the best meatloaf preparation I ever tasted. Bravo on this dish! We shared a bottle of Tempranillo to accompany it which was perfect. For dessert we shared a nice and refreshing mint chocolate chip ice cream which was generously comped as we were there for a special occasion. Thank you! I would definitely return and try other dishes, although the meatloaf is a must standout. Overall a very good experience.

Not only is their wine and champagne fantastic (organic-sulphate free!), it's also ideal for the kind of quaint and intimate gathering I was desiring. And my charcuterie spread was of the chain, fantastic. It covered a whole dining table. My favorite was enjoying my apricot and cream filled cake from nearby Upper Crust Bakery. Their server was on point. She kept everyone's champagne glasses full, which was crucial on this hot summer's evening. I wish I could party like this every weekend. They have absolutely NAILED their Pana Cotta. Normally, I wouldn't be a huge fan of pana cottas as it has come across to gelatin-y in the past, but I get it every time. The service is amazing. It is clear they are aiming to offer an elevated experience. That being said, it is on the longer side of a meal, and I find it much more enjoyable when I accept the leisurely pace and order an appetizer. When I do order an appetizer, the meal seems perfectly paced. Without it, it could seem a bit slow. I've loved the zucchini blossoms, calamari, and Caesar salad. (I do really like the burrata ones as well, but it's just so easy to make on your own from Trader Joes at a much lower premium.) I also love that they offer complementary focaccia, which used to be made in house. I don't believe it is now, but it is still very good. My fave dishes to get are anything with their droolworthy polenta like their chicken or veal saltimbocca (I prefer the chicken) for dinner or their chicken marsala for lunch. The chicken marsala probably is my absolute favorite, which means I HAVE to come here for their lunch sometimes, which are only Thursday and Friday. Really lovely atmosphere. I have and love to sit on their porch but no longer do because of the traffic noise. Chico designed Bruce with the traffic light right there and it's so bad - basically a raceway for meatheads in their loud trucks and motorcycles when the light turns green. Mosquitos absolutely become a problem so while I love that they sometimes put up the garage style doors/windows when the weather is nice to create a lovely indoor/outdoor experience, if you're a mosquito magnet like me, that is not the time for you to come in without mosquito protection. (One time was so bad that even though they closed it, I left with - I kid you not, I counted - no less that 18 mosquito bites on my calf.
