I've been meaning to review Wine County HVAC and Rudy's work, since they finished up our project last winter. We had a 40-year-old furnace and a 30-year-old central air conditioning system that was really on its last legs. We had been advised not to use our furnace any further. Called Rudy, who came on the job just around the time of the fires in October of last year, which made all HVAC contractors crazy busy. He helped us sort through a complicated and time consuming permitting issue by steadily chipping away at it. It was enough to make less brave contractors throw up their hands, but not Rudy! Once the permit was issued, he and his team handled the situation with energy and zeal, especially after we had been waiting for months for the paperwork. His price was extremely competitive, and his finished work topnotch. This is not to mention his personable style of doing business. As far as we're concerned, he 'saved our bacon' and the performance of our equipment has been flawless. It is my humble opinion that you won't go wrong with Rudy and Wine County HVAC. I would not recommend this business for your HAVC needs. I had to report them to the state board for failure to complete a job that was under warranty. They did not finish the work they started and left a AC fan motor that was not the right size as a temporary fix. I have email snd text correspondence and they abandoned this job. read more

Over a year ago I asked Rudy for an estimate to replace our old water heater and AC with heat pumps, keeping our fairly recent gas furnace as backup for cold days. Rudy explained options and came up with a smart plan that allowed us to use most of our fairly recent hot air system. This was much more cost effective than any of the other estimates. Rudy did the work fast, was always on time and the install went very smoothly. A year later I can say with confidence that everything works beautifully. We stayed comfortably warm and cool and the new system is well matched to our solar system. This saved us a lot of money with the current prices for natural gas. My very old heating ducts needed replacement. I called four companies and went with Rudy of Wine County HVAC because he recommended I replace the ducts under the house rather than get "splits" which would have cost a lot more. He was 100% right. Great advice, so glad I listened to him! Responded quickly to the emails I sent. The space under the house was quite tight and difficult in some areas but he was able to work through it. My heater is 23 years old; he did a tune up on it and didn't push me to get a new one. It currently works great and the house is warm for the first time in years. He earned my trust. We needed to replace all of the heating ductwork under the house. We reached out to a few local HVAC companies for quotes. Rudy was efficient and extremely responsive and reasonably priced. I actually had to keep calling another local HVAC company to get their quote. We decided to go with Wine County HVAC and are so glad we did. Not only that, but he had the universal fan for my very old furnace/hvac system out in his truck!! I am a project manager/maintenance supervisor for a property management company operating in Sonoma, we have a lot of buildings and some of them our really old, semi historic with old systems. I talked to four companies and Rudy's bid was the lowest by a little bit but, his customer service and attitude was much the best. We purchased a new A/C unit from him and he added duct work upstairs. Rudy and his crew were super nice and knew what they were doing - they and worked around our other construction/painting crews. Called Rudy because I saw good reviews. He charged me $800 to hang an AC unit on the wall in my Napa home and connect it to the compressor. He did no wiring except to take over existing wiring dedicated to lights and outlets. He upgraded the voltage to the outlets and ceiling light and blew out anything plugged in as well as the bulbs. He charged nothing to "undo" his error and did not correct the wiring or pay for the blown out items. Hire good old Rudy at your own risk. It was a total waste of money for me. read more
