Beautiful B&B and perfect for couples. Modern, very clean, immaculate, with a beautiful unobstructed view of the city and the river. The B&B is a separate small home that guests have to themselves. The hosts, Rafael and Patty are the nicest most considerate people. Easy to walk to all parts of Astoria. Highly recommend it!

If you are looking for a place to stay in Astoria, look no further - this is it! The Windwater Bed & Breakfast is a peaceful and private retreat with its own entrance and deck, located in an extremely quiet neighborhood with outstanding views. Rafael is an outstanding host - great cook, thoughtful, genuine and knowledgeable about the local area and the history. The home itself is the perfect for getaway for two with a large kitchen and living space complete with lots of natural light from the carefully placed windows that highlight the natural scenery. We were able to watch ships setting out and returning from sea and even had visits from the deer that live in the neighborhood. Every amenity was thoughtfully provided - we wanted for nothing except to stay longer! There are many reasons why we chose to visit Astoria, but the Windwater Bed & Breakfast is the reason that we will return. Thank you Rafael and Patty for sharing your home with us!

Pam and David are the sweetest and most hospitable hosts, and their B&B truly feels like a cozy home. They collect really fun items, and each room has its own character and its own unique homey decor. The location of the inn is close enough to walk anywhere you would want to go out for dinner, drinks, or shopping. The best part of the inn (besides Pam's breakfasts - which always include the BEST fruit bowls) is most definitely their 13 year old chihuahua, Penny. She often makes an appearance after breakfast and steals the heart of everyone she meets. If you aren't able to use a tub with a shower handle (like the kind popular in Europe) to bathe, then I would suggest getting one of their rooms with a shower/tub combination. I loved having a clawfoot tub to soak in (we stayed in the Rose Room this time) each night while I read and drank a cup of tea. There is usually hot water and teabags or instant coffee available at all hours (freshly brewed coffee is available starting at 7am) on the stairway landing and I took full advantage of that amenity!

Clementines has that same charm and history which adds to the experience. The location was ideal in that it was within walking distance of the river front and downtown area, w/in driving distance to areas of interest like, the Astoria Column, the beaches and parks and more importantly all the "Goonie" sights! Clementines itself was great. The innkeeper was very nice and helpful with any questions that we had about what to do or where to go. Our room was...."roomy".....comfortable and full of personality. Clementines also allows pets which is a nice consideration so we were able to bring our puppy along for the trip. The breakfast was simple yet good with a very homey feel sitting around the breakfast table chatting with the other people staying over and with the innkeeper and her help. We would definitely recommend staying here if you ever find yourself in Astoria....you should make reservations first.....and there's no minimum stay, so stay for a night, two nights or more. We were short on time, but you can bet we'll be back to search for One-eyed-Willie's treasure..and when we do we'll be staying at Clementines Bed & Breakfast.

I also sent a text to your innkeeper who responded and said "I'm sorry you feel that way. I'm still at the softball tournament and it's actually my mother in laws bed and breakfast I'm running, she had ran it for 10 years prior to me running it the past year and haven't had any issues. She is out of town till the 17th. I will definitely let her know the situation cause it would be up to her on the credit. I didn't hear back from either of you by the 19th so I contacted you again. My exact words after you re-sent your policy again to me by text were: I read that...But I don't see in all of this wording where it states something about people selling drugs right next to your bed and breakfast. I will make sure that I do many reviews so that anyone else considering booking with you will know that there are people selling drugs on the street next to your bed and breakfast and that it's not safe And also that you don't work with your customers when there's a bad situation Maybe what you can do is take the money and pay it forward to someone in need since you aren't willing to give us any of the money back Consider helping the people in your neighborhood with drug addictions Use the money to do something good since you didn't need it to pay your cleaning lady or your water bill or use it to buy the food. I want people to know that they shouldn't book a stay with you until they check out the area because they will not get their money back if they don't feel safe.

Every corner of every room was quaintly and beautifully decorated. You could clearly see the pride of ownership everywhere you looked. The inn-keeper made us a different fresh breakfast each of our two mornings here. She was very friendly and we enjoyed talking with her while we ate breakfast. She was very helpful in answering our questions and making recommendations for places in town to visit and dine. Astoria is an older, well-established town with period buildings. At no time did we feel unsafe staying here, there were no signs of homelessness in the vicinity; the area around the B&B was no different than any of the many areas of Astoria that we visited. We parked our car right in front of the B&B on both nights, without any problem or issues. We would gladly stay here again!

This is what you get when you visit Grandview B & B. Funky, old, and in those two things - charm. Sharlene is someone who has lived a nice long life and probably has many stories to tell. She is usually the woman who greets you when you arrive. Be patient, as it takes her a bit to get to the front door. Also, if you come down to the lobby area after you have checked in and try to talk to Sharlene, make sure she can see who you are. I watched a few times as guests came down the stairs to call out to her about a question and she can't move her neck as easily to know who she is talking to. :) Be kind and patient with this wonderful lady. We stayed in the Treetops Room which has a balcony where you can look out over the river and see the old Flavel home. And you can even spy the Goonies house in the far off distance. Breakfast is served at 7:30, 8:30 or 9:30 and you get to choose which one works best for you. Bagels, smoked salmon and chocolate muffins! YUM! The sweet chef was wonderfully sweet and we felt very special eating in the closed off room. If you want 1000 thread count sheets or modern amenities, this is not where you will find them. But this place completely changed my perspective - easily the best motel I've stayed at. Really enjoyed our one-night stay here. The room was clean and actually smelled clean and fresh, which immediately made it feel comfortable. The staff were also very nice and welcoming throughout our stay. The only downside is that you can hear pretty much everything going on outside, so if you're a light sleeper I'd definitely recommend bringing ear plugs. Other than that, we had a great experience. At first glance, we really liked the room, but the bathroom window lock was broken, the hotel placed mini turn twist knobs placed behind the window or could be taken off. My only concern is the bathroom window being unlocked and broken faces the motel walkway. The carpet had not been replaced and was old and dirty, looked original from the opening of the motel and did not represent the pictures online. The baseboards were old, separated from the carpet and extremely dirty. The bathroom looked clean until you could see into their corners, of peoples hair and dust, the twin pillow had hair on the pillows and the twin bed /broken/leaned to one side when layed on. My daughter only weighs 110lbs. There is no attendant in the evening, as we had to call the police because someone in the parking lot was playing their music extremely loud after 11pm. Even for one night, $100 is not worth the Atomic motel, I have stayed at cleaner Motel 6's before while traveling. I really wanted to give the Atomic motel a chance because much thought, dedication, and creativity was put into the 50s theme, but the cleanliness is lacking.
