    Beautiful Victorian house
    Nick N.

It's all about the Benji! My wife and I stayed for a few nights here and had a great time. The hosts are incredibly nice and do everything they can to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The stuffed French Toast was better than I've had at any restaurant and the eggs Benedict was amazing! They even worked around a gluten allergy without issue. They gave us lots of information about the town and where to go for hiking, biking, food & drinks. Our room at the Inn was very comfortable and spacious. We slept great, the shower was always hot, and the views from nearly every window in the house are beautiful. Highly recommend.

This is not your typical bed and breakfast. The property is completely independent so you're the only guest onsite. The home is beautiful, modern, well appointed, extremely clean and so comfortable. It has tall ceilings and large windows with breathtaking views of Astoria and the Columbia River. There is a fully equipped kitchen with an island, minus the oven. The upstairs area is a comfy sitting area which hubby used for reading. The perfect place you wanted to call home when you're away from home. Rafael was the perfect host. He greeted us upon arrival and showed us around the property. Every morning he prepared delicious hot breakfast and coffee for us. The refrigerator was fully stocked with water, juice and beer. There was even sparkling wine if you wanted to make mimosas in the morning. The bathroom had a towel rack that can warm/dry your towels before and after shower, which I absolutely loved. Who doesn't like a warm towel after shower? It's a 5-star bed and breakfast because every little detail was put into this place and I can't wait to come back and stay with Rafael the next time I'm in Astoria!

Pam and David are the sweetest and most hospitable hosts, and their B&B truly feels like a cozy home. They collect really fun items, and each room has its own character and its own unique homey decor. The location of the inn is close enough to walk anywhere you would want to go out for dinner, drinks, or shopping. The best part of the inn (besides Pam's breakfasts - which always include the BEST fruit bowls) is most definitely their 13 year old chihuahua, Penny. She often makes an appearance after breakfast and steals the heart of everyone she meets. If you aren't able to use a tub with a shower handle (like the kind popular in Europe) to bathe, then I would suggest getting one of their rooms with a shower/tub combination. I loved having a clawfoot tub to soak in (we stayed in the Rose Room this time) each night while I read and drank a cup of tea. There is usually hot water and teabags or instant coffee available at all hours (freshly brewed coffee is available starting at 7am) on the stairway landing and I took full advantage of that amenity!

The location was ideal in that it was within walking distance of the river front and downtown area, w/in driving distance to areas of interest like, the Astoria Column, the beaches and parks and more importantly all the "Goonie" sights! Clementines itself was great. The innkeeper was very nice and helpful with any questions that we had about what to do or where to go. Our room was...."roomy".....comfortable and full of personality. Clementines also allows pets which is a nice consideration so we were able to bring our puppy along for the trip. The breakfast was simple yet good with a very homey feel sitting around the breakfast table chatting with the other people staying over and with the innkeeper and her help. We would definitely recommend staying here if you ever find yourself in Astoria....you should make reservations first.....and there's no minimum stay, so stay for a night, two nights or more. We were short on time, but you can bet we'll be back to search for One-eyed-Willie's treasure..and when we do we'll be staying at Clementines Bed & Breakfast.

It is very accessible from Portland and the drive there is beautiful, and when you arrive at your destination you immediately feel at peace. Brian and Linda do a great job of making you feel welcome. We brought our own snacks and had a picnic in the gazebo and enjoyed the view of the river, which is so wide at that point that it almost gives the visual of being at the ocean as ships rolled by. We stayed in the Hummingbird Room which has a very comfortable bed and a wonderful view out of the window. The rates are very affordable and include breakfast - Brian is a great cook and they offer several meal options. We added the firewood package and were so glad we did, as I type this I wish I could be back there next to the fire while looking at the river. She was very helpful in answering our questions and making recommendations for places in town to visit and dine. Astoria is an older, well-established town with period buildings. At no time did we feel unsafe staying here, there were no signs of homelessness in the vicinity; the area around the B&B was no different than any of the many areas of Astoria that we visited. We parked our car right in front of the B&B on both nights, without any problem or issues. We would gladly stay here again!

She is usually the woman who greets you when you arrive. Be patient, as it takes her a bit to get to the front door. Also, if you come down to the lobby area after you have checked in and try to talk to Sharlene, make sure she can see who you are. I watched a few times as guests came down the stairs to call out to her about a question and she can't move her neck as easily to know who she is talking to. :) Be kind and patient with this wonderful lady.
