Had to give an updated review on my favorite vision center! Started coming here in 2017 and am still so happy to have found this business. The staff and Doctors continue to be friendly as ever and very accommodating. I have gotten both frames and contact lenses here. The contacts were out of pocket but reasonably priced and the turn around to get the lenses following the exam was quick quick quick. There is a great selection of frames and Paige has helped me pick the right ones to compliment my face every time. I had to bring my 5 year old to my recent appointment and Paige kept him occupied while I met with the Doctor. She changed the TV to cartoons and I heard her engaging my child in conversation too. This made me feel so much more comfortable during my visit. Doctor Lee explained everything to me in detail and answered any questions I had regarding my eye exam. She also gave recommendations around general eye care and suggested follow ups for the next 2 years (my insurance covers exams every 2 years). I am still extremely happy and satisfied with my trusty vision center. I continue to highly recommend this location to anyone looking for quality eye care! read more

I was looking through the list of local vision offices that accepts my health insurance, and that is how I found this place. Since it seemed pretty highly rated from the many ratings and reviews that I checked, as well as it being within only around a mile from where I live, I decided to try this place out. The office is quite small and it is somewhat cramped in my opinion. There is one main room, while the other rooms consist of two exam rooms, an extra room where someone evaluates glasses, and a bathroom I believe. The small space is not ideal and it seems a bit too condensed in my opinion, but the limited space also clearly shows all the possible frames that they offer. Even though this is a small office, they offer many frames that range in price, appearance, and design. For a very small space, there is a lot of variety and selections within the small space. When I arrived there for my first appointment after not having an eye exam in several years, the front staff communicated quickly and clearly with me. I did not bring my ID, nor my insurance card, but they still allowed me to go through with my eye exam appointment, and they still provided me with the opportunity to select new glasses based on what my insurance covers, along with the choice of looking at all the other out of pocket options. Though I did wait nearly a half an hour for my exam, it made sense because they were busy the day I arrived. As I was waiting, families were trying on new glasses, a couple was waiting for their own exam, and there were parents with their children looking at the glasses. The workers at the front desk was not extremely friendly, but in terms of service, they were decent. They were clear, direct, and informative, which is what I needed after not being at an eye office for a while. What I really liked about my experience is that there was freedom. I was given as much time and space as I needed to closely look at and try on all the frames they provided, both insurance covered and otherwise. They did not rush me or showed any signs of impatience, so even when it got crowded, it felt interestingly calm because I was given my own space to explore even within the many patients that were there to have their eyes evaluated and choose their new glasses. It's very clear that this office is a family office. I saw many people come here with their family or friends, and the staff all seemed very close with one another as well. It's a tightly connected community office, but not really an expansive or varied one, given their limited space. However, when I was choosing my new glasses, they were very helpful in explaining to me the value of lens thickness, frame size, and overall cost comparison. There were also opportunities for discounts as well, so they were very informative when it came down to assisting me in narrowing down all the glasses I possibly want by explaining how to differentiate between what I wanted versus what I needed. They were very focused and considerate in making sure I obtained glasses that I needed for my prescription, and were accomodating to my preferences. For the rather small and cramped space of this office, they do a lot and work very actively with what they have. read more

Very friendly staff with caring doctors! The place is small but they have a nice selection of glasses to choose from.

They are good, but their prices are inflated! The frame I chose retailed at $108 and could be found cheaper elsewhere BUT was charged $210 after a 30% discount from my health insurance (listed at $300 by them)! I am not sure about the rest of the charges since there isn't any price list posted. Truly amazing that this "Hidden Gem" of a place is located right in my neighborhood. Staff is extremely professional and friendly. They have a wide selection of frames and they take many of the countless "Eyeglass Plans" offered by all those City Unions. Was referred to Windsor Park Vision Center by a friend/colleague. I've been coming here for a few years now. Md takes time to properly assess and check you. They answer all questions and concerns. They have both designer and regular glasses and shades there. Staff is friendly and office is clean. It's a neighborhood place where multiple family members go. Several people in my family are also patients. read more

I came in here because I needed a last minute DMV vision test and waited less than 10 minutes to be seen and the doctor was extremely friendly! The vision test took literally less than 5 minutes and I was in and out of there so fast. The staff was very friendly, clean office, and great location. read more

Windsor Park Vision is a hidden gem!! Paige and the staff is warm and welcoming yet knowledgeable and professional but above all else, they are honest and actually care about their clients!! Don't let their unimposing exterior fool you, Windsor Park Vision is full service eye care- they have an on-site doctor and are fully stocked with a wide range of frames to choose from (and if by chance they don't have the frames you want, they can order it and have it delivered asap). But trust me-YOU WILL FIND SOMETHING!! They work with many insurance plans including many Civil Service angency plans. I paid $36 for my daughter's designer frames AND bc she was leaving for college in a couple of days, they put in a rush order and she got her glasses THE NEXT DAY!!!! For her last pair of glasses, I paid over $400 at Cohen's Optical and had to wait more than a week. I wish I had known about WPV sooner because I live literally a block away from them and must've walked past them a thousand times. (They're in Hollis Court, across the street from KeyFood and CVS.) I am so glad my insurance, EyeMed, listed them as a provider in my area, so my husband and I went to check them out. Otherwise, I would still be overpaying for glasses and my daughter would not have her glasses with her at school. Windsor Park Vision, you guys are good, honest people!!! Me and my two little ones are super satisfied with the service we received today from the receptionists to Dr. Chen. It was their first time visiting an eye doctor. We were 20 min early, waiting in the front. Receptionist switched Disney Chanel for my kids. I didn't even ask. That was so thoughtful of her. My 5 years old was so nervous. I don't understand why anyone would give this place a poor review. It is actually the only eye care center that treated me like a human. When I called for an appointment I was greeted very professionally. They even used the proper pronouns such as "Sir", I don't usually expect that today. Knowing that all the appointments were filled, they very politely gave me an option to be the last patient for the day. I took it and didn't have to wait long to see the eye doctor. Dr. Levy was my optometrist for this appointment. He was extremely thorough and patient with me. He clearly explained his procedures before performing them to ensure there were no surprises. He knows exactly what he is doing. The staff was very helpful and guiding when I was trying to select a frame. They took their time with me well past closing hours, I didn't feel the least bit rushed. The selection was so nice, I ended up getting 3 pairs. Maybe I'll wear them all at the same time and see what happens :-) While I was waiting to see the optometrist, I had a very pleasant conversation with Carl, the owner. I complemented him on his staff's professionalism. He smiled because he explained that he wouldn't expect anything less from his staff. He takes his business very seriously and makes his customers his number one priority. There is no customer service center because it simply isn't necessary. This is why I prefer frequenting private businesses over chain stores. Carl and the staff addressed all of my questions and gave me a nice deal! This will be my new eye care center. Avoid! Fairly speaking, The eyes exam provided there were detail and impressive. However, when I got a pair of glasses that within the insurance covered limit for my kid. They upgraded the lens without asking me and I end up need to pay extra for that. Later when I inquired the insurance company. For basic lens, we should not need to pay anything! Second, I canceled a contact lens exam appointment there three weeks ago and two days before my appointment date. As of today, my insurance coverage is now showing my lens/contact lens have been used on my appointment date which I had never been to!!!! Dishonest billing is totally unacceptable!! It's been over three weeks and even I called, they are still holding up my lens eligibility on the system! Ridiculous! Will never go back!! read more

Today I had my annual vision exam at Windsor Park Vision Center. This is a great neighborhood office with an eye doctor and a staff of helpers. From the minute I walked in I was treated like an old friend and respected customer. The eye exam was very thorough, and I felt the doctor was listening to me and making good suggestions to deal with my vision issues and needs. My prescription was adjusted to deal with changing distance vision. All this was done in a quiet and comfortable environment. Outside in the retail section of the very small office, I was assisted in picking out a nice pair of frames from the selection. In this day of shrinking insurance coverage, my options for frames and lenses were well explained. Buying complex Rx glasses is not cheap, but I felt I received a reasonable price for my frames and Rx lenses. I opted for high quality lenses and optional coatings. My glasses will be ready in 7-10 days. As in prior years, the whole process was quick, efficient and friendly. I strongly recommend Windsor Park Vision Center for your eye needs. read more

I had to find a new ophthalmologist after switching insurance plans, and this office was the closest to where I live. Easy street parking half a block in, and I was seen immediately. After my routine eye exam, the ladies at the front desk were more than happy to assist me with finding a new pair of frames that would complement my face shape. They carry a pretty solid designer collection, and the one I ended up selecting was 100% covered. Will return next year! read more

It was the worst customer experience I had!!! The manager became very nasty when I called back to cancel my order the next day after I went. I told her I apologized that I changed my mind and wanted a refund. She was very nasty with me even though they didn't submit the order to their supplier yet. And when I asked her if I can get my order a few weeks later, she told me no and that she doesn't want to do any business with me. I was furious, and reported her to VSP which is my coverage company. Don't get your glasses here because they have bad work ethics!!! They have no manners to the customers, especially if you change your mind. They are the worst optical store. read more

Dr Levy is competent and compassionate. The lady selling the frames and lenses is a bit too in your face and pushy, but it's tolerable. The frame options that I could see were very middle of the road, I guess typical for a place like this. For better frames you should go to a specialty frame shop. read more

I have lived in the Bayside area for many years and noticed the Windsor Park Vision Center often enough, but never visited them until this week--and I must heartily agree with all the positive reviews I've read since my visit. When I arrived, I was graciously welcomed by their warm and very friendly staff, and was seen by the doctor right at the appointed time. I was given a thorough eye exam, had all my questions answered, and never felt less than like a valued customer. When I returned the next day for some follow-up questions, I was similarly welcomed and treated very well. As such, I was motivated to add my comments to this forum. First of all, they did an examination on me which supposedly said I only got weaker in my left eye when both eyes are actually bothering me. Then, after I brought in frames from an outside source, they tried to gouge me for over $250 worth of extra agendas such as no glare and other needs. Worst experience ever. read more
