Let me ask you a favor. We need more people to shop at this place... I go in here and it's quiet…read more Not sure if I should worry for their future, as I really like them. I'm pretty much a beginner when it comes to eye glasses. They helped me pick a frame and got me a pair of reading glasses and a pair of progressives according to my prescription. Price was fair. Service was friendly. The place is cute and convenient. Got my glasses quickly. Here's where they really shine: I hated the progressives. Freaking HATED them. They told me I had... I think it was 60 days to return them if I wasn't happy. In that time, my dad was hospitalized for 3 weeks, wound up dying... we had the funeral, mourning... and by the time I was back on the road and trying to wear these damned glasses again, my 60 days were GONE. I bit the bullet though, went back and just asked them to change out the lenses for standard long distance lenses using the same frames. I knew I was going to pay... didn't even ask for a favor. I returned today to have the new lenses swapped out with my frames... it took about 5 minutes (I didn't realize I'd be able to wait for them and have it done so quickly), they're perfect now, and there was NO CHARGE. Freaking HUMAN BEINGS in this store, I tell you. Bravo!

It's always a good sign when you call and can get a hold of a live person over the phone. That was the first draw in. When our appointment came up, we were greeted by friendly staff. The store is bright and inviting, but smaller than the last eyeglass supply store (a larger chain) we'd gone to. The selection of eyeglasses are limited to pricier designer frames, but upon inquiring, I was told that they have affordable (read: frames covered by insurance) available upon request, it just hasn't been put up on display yet. Plus, it was nice to see there were some refreshments and a clean bathroom available while we waited. Most importantly, this store was CLEAN-- there ample hand-sani at the ready, plus signs they clean their display frames between customers. Once the initial paperwork was done, the rest of our service was expedient. We were taken to a room for pre-testing, and then soon after met with the doctor. He answered all our questions, and never pressured us into buying lenses/frames. While this is a smaller store, the doctor has another office in NJ where he can check his inventory should there be something specific you want. Hope this location does well, it's good to have options other than large chain optical stores.

The gentleman who answered the phone was so pleasant and accommodating, he told me to come in at 12:00pm. Once I arrived with my 2 year old in tow, the staff was so helpful in providing toys and coloring books to keep her occupied while I filled out paperwork. Dr Arthur Chen was wonderful! I had come in with some pain in my right eye, and he did all the necessary tests to ensure nothing was wrong (and calm my nerves) - it ended up being dry eyes, so he sent me out with a script. I would absolutely recommend Bayside Eye Care to anyone who needs an eye exam. Dr. Chen has excellent bedside manner, and is extremely thorough.

This place is a disaster! Believe the reviews, scammers. They give a discount if you right a good…read morereview. Trust me, I did it once before. I had such a bad experience here for my recent eye exam. Not sure if it was the car salesman at the front, or the Eye doctor's fault. I basically needed cvs readers, but I wanted progressive lenses. I have insurance with full coverage. I was charged almost $700. I knew something was wrong. I checked my insurance when I got home and all of it was wrong. I had to bring in proof for the salesman to come correct. The guy said my bad, and refunded me $300. He knew just what he was doing, I gave him my insurance card. When the glasses came in, it was the wrong prescription. Couldn't see at all. So I then had to come in for another exam to correct the mistake. With a different eye doctor. I was crystal clear with both eye doctors. They are readers over my contacts. Over a month later, glasses came back with a line on them, not progressives. So they were sent back again. When they finally came in, 3 months after original appt, the prescription was off. I couldn't see up close, I had to pull back to see. Which is the reason I came in to start with. I left with the glasses, bc who can deal with this incompetency for a 4th time. Here I paid $400 out of pocket for glasses I can't use. He never adjusted the price for the wrong prescription lenses he sold me from the start. Meanwhile I shouldn't have paid more then my copay for this whole ordeal. Yet they try and make you feel like they are giving you a deal with their SPIEL! Spin the wheel for a discount, after I extort you. Place is a joke!

I have mixed feelings about this spot. I got an eye exam in late 2021. Most people I interacted…read morewith through this multi-visit experience seemed not particularly excited to be there. There's a male energy here, which is fine but clearly dominant. I was impressed that everything was digital; the exam was quick. The doc seemed nice enough, though the visit was so short that I didn't really feel like it was a deep conversation or relationship. Because of covid-19, they're not using drops for the exam, so a $19 copay for a digital version of that part of the test was offered to me. I declined and felt no pressure. No one offered to help me with my frames, which I was a little surprised by. I also never got a call to pick-up my glasses. When I did pick-up my glasses, there was obviously something wrong with them. I was told I would just need to drop in to get help and also to wait a week to see if my eyes adjusted. I knew there was something wrong with the glasses - not just my getting used to them. Luckily, I didn't have to wait too long for someone to help me. After confirming the prescription was correct, the guy took my glasses back and said he had to bend the frames slightly, and sure enough, that helped. Note that their 100 day policy starts on the day you bought the glasses, not when you picked them up.

My prescription was exactly the same as from my first exam. I put a down-payment on contacts and ordered inexpensive glasses. The total was $760.00. Two weeks later no contacts, and instead of ordering contacts they only ordered glasses. I asked about the contact lenses. They had not ordered them nor had they any recollection of my having ordered them. Wanted to charge me again for contacts and or give me a prescription to get them somewhere else. My down-payment was $380.00 for what was supposed to be contacts and readers with a inexpensive frame. I refused the glasses without the contacts that were my primary reason for going to this optometrist. After a long and unproductive conversation I am giving them a negative review.
