The sales here when they occur are very good. My friends and I enjoy shopping here and the ladies are pretty approachable and friendly. Currently a sale that can't stop one from looking through is their $7 sale on some tops and dresses! Lots of fun to go through here. The selections rotate every season and I feel are always up to trends. Dresses are usually well-made and aren't extremely thin and aren't easy to tear. For example in February there's a lot of spring themed clothes ready and a big selection of red/pink for Valentine's season. They also have heels for sale sometimes and boots, I've never bought shoes from here so I don't know how the quality is. I came in earlier in the day to try on this dress, and loved it. I decided I'll come back to think it over and maybe I'll just purchase online. When I was about to order, it was sold out online but it said there was that one I tried on left at this location. It also happened to be the last one in the 200 mile radius. I rush back to the store in there last 20 minutes and didn't find the dress on the floor. I asked Daisy about it and she helped go around the store to look for it. MY REVIEW IS MAINLY BASED ON WINDSOR OVERALL AND NOT SO MUCH ON THE RETAIL STORE!!! The website says: Eligible dresses may be returned within 14 days from the delivery date.Other eligible products may be returned within 30 days from the delivery date. I ordered jackets on the website which were not final sale so there should have been a 30 day window. I went to the Northridge location to do a return and provided them with the receipts that came in the bag and printed the online receipt. They want you to request a QR code which you have to get by requesting one through the website. The stores can do it without the QR code but they just don't want to take the time to do this so be prepared for you the paying (and returning) customer to be the one doing it. I did what one of the employees there told me to do and saw that only 1 of the 3 items was eligible to be returned since it said the return window for the other 2 ended but it had been less than 2 weeks than when the items were delivered. I understand Windsor has a 14 day return window for dresses (which is one of the shortest windows I have ever seen especially when retail fashion stores are failing today), but this was for jackets. The employee had then given me a phone number to call to request a QR code get emailed to me so then I called, got a customer service employee who seemed annoyed, but they did email me the QR code. I did end up getting a refund but the whole experience has made me not want to ever order on Windsor's website or in the store again simply because it was inconvenient with a bizarre return policy especially considering there seemed to have been an error with why 1 item was eligible to be returned when the other 2 weren't considering they were ordered and delivered at the same time. The clothing itself is poor quality which is why I returned them but the price was right. Pay more to get something made better with a decent return policy and just an overall better experience. read more

The mall closes at 8pm today. This store had their doors closed at 6:45pm. The girls at the register were super rude. They stood there and did not come over when there were customers outside wondering why they were closed early. Finally a girl came over and she didn't open the door. She preceded to try and talk through the glass door. A coworker came over and yelled that they are closing early because they do not have a manager present which was obviously a lie. They were super rude and closing before business hours is bad practice. Their demeanor was very rude. I will never go back to this store. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this place. I worked for the company as a co-manager for 7 years and am fully aware of their policies, but when I tried doing an even exchange with no recipe (tags attached and brand new) but only a bank statement the store manager intervened from the other side of the register and told the associate at the register about how they couldn't do the even exchange like I wasn't in front of them totally disregarding my presence. Horrendous customer service. No employee was present at the fitting rooms, and the unoccupied rooms were completely open so my sister went on in to try on dresses. Mind you, there was no sign either instructing that we had to check in at the front if we wanted to try anything on. Next thing you know, one of the employees, a heavy Hispanic woman with her hair dyed blonde knocks on the door asking how many items she had in there. Upon my sister's response, she rudely snaps "next time you need to tell someone at the front if you need a fitting room." My blood was already boiling and the cherry on top? Esmeralda and Daisy were awesome! I went in last week looking to find a dress for a wedding. I found a few that I liked but wanted to get input after trying them on. Both Esmeralda and Daisy were very nice, helpful and friendly. Esmeralda even went out of her way to locate one of the dresses I liked in a different size at another location and had it placed on hold for me. They have no interest in helping their fellow woman find what they need. I wish I had gotten their names but one was a short haired girl with glasses and the other one was a bigger taller woman. Neither had any customers they were actively helping, they were either in the back listening to their music or mindlessly fiddling with the dresses on display. I have always liked this store and location. Today however I had a different experience. There were a total of 4 people waiting 10 minutes after the mall opened. The associate opened the door without acknowledging the people waiting. She proceeded to close the door. It wasn't until almost 30 minutes later she came to open the door again not acknowledging the customers until someone asked if they were going to open. She very rudely said they open at 12 which is fine, only she could have said that 30 minutes prior. Even putting a sign if she didn't want to deal with talking to customers which in my opinion is part of her job. I have been a loyal Windsor customer for many years. A while back I had an experience with Dominique, the manager. (Long story short my son who has autism was running around the store and she called security, gave us the wrong corporate number but we contacted corporate and they handled it in a very professional manner) Fast forward to 2019, Still a loyal customer and this time everytime I go into the store I'm greeted by sweet girls who work here. Sometimes some stores make you feel like you're just some random person and don't care but this store has definitely learned to value their customers. I haven't had an unpleasant experience since. Shopping for a prom dress is an activity that is rarely undertaken by adult men of my generation. In fact it is actively an activity avoided by most guys; and many of whom would relegate it into that realm of taboo subjects not up for discussion. Of those of us that do find ourselves in a dress shop with a soon-to-be-adult teenager shopping for a prom dress, I'd speculate that the vast majority are parents, like me. My most recent experience began on a Sunday in March, the task being to "help" my daughter find a dress for her senior prom. By the time we arrived at Windsor Fashions (in Northridge) we had already been to both the LA Fashion District and the Glendale Galleria without any success at all. A friend suggested Windsor and after finding them on Yelp and perusing their website for awhile, we decided to go check them out.. My daughter approved of the styles and I approved of their prices, and although I was tempted to buy online, experience has shown that the "size" that dresses claim to be has very little to do with the size that they actually are--so off to their brick and mortar store we went! The Northridge Windsor store is inside the Northridge Fashion Center mall. Like any mall parking is available, but navigating to an empty parking space can be a daunting task--dodging the clueless as they backup without a backward glance. Once inside we found a directory map and soon found ourselves in front of a typical looking mid-size mall apparel shop. Upon entering the shop displays of accessories were surrounded by round racks of seperates, some being topped off with glittery high heels--most in the $20-30 price range. The back half of the store is almost comically overpopulated by dresses, lots of dresses. We soon discovered that despite the appearance that many possibilities were just waiting to be found from amongst the maze of overstuffed racks--the actual number of dresses in a size that would fit my daughter was LESS THAN FIVE! Even after enlisting the help individually from two employees; we were only able to find five small-sized dresses (actually 3 were size "small", the others were size "0"). Unfortunately, none were very flattering and after two hours or so we left empty-handed and heavy hearted.. Looking back on the experience, the level of customer service was on par with you would expect at a Target--but not because the staff was rude or unhelpful. It is a staffing issue. Having only two employees on the floor during a Sunday afternoon at the mall (one on register the other;doing everything else) will ultimately will lose them far more in lost sales than can ever be saved off their payroll. Later that night, I spent a little more time on their website-- I came away with the suspicion that the general indifference to the needs of their customers may be just a part of the Windsor corporate culture. It may just be a coincidence that they don't seem to stock items that are designed to fit all of their customers; if you are too small or too big--you are out of luck at Windsor. In my experience they are an average store that caters to average people-nothing particularly special about them at all-overall rating = 2.5 stars. read more

Windsor, to me, always meant prom dresses. My perception was expanded, however, when I needed something super cute and super sexy to wear during my birthday weekend in Vegas, and I stumbled upon the Windsor in the Northridge Mall. I was really surprised with their selection... I saw good quality, in-fashion dresses for formal, dressy, and casual events with a diverse selection. The prices weren't too crazy either! I got two fly-ass dresses - one for $30, one for $20! The employees were really helpful... especially one girl! She was outstandingly nice and helpful! I love that, because that's pretty rare in retail stores in a mall. My one gripe though is as a girl with curves, I have to say I was pretty disappointed they only have sizes small and medium. Literally. There were dresses I would have gotten in a more comfortable large, but there wasn't that option! Hey, curvy girls need love too! First of all we applaud the store ..company for the safety precautions they had in place. 1- face mask requirement 2- staff wearing gloves, 3- socially distancing markings. Awesome....now my wife went looking for a dress for a wedding we are attending, the staff were great, they were attentive to our request and they had answers to our questions, and no pressure, honset sincere responses. Now the dress we purchased was an emerald green Special occasion dress fit great, we asked if we could have the dress held for a day and they did...the sales person I believe was Jenny ..great attitude, helpful. We came back the next day and Bree was another awesome associate. We had a slight problem. With the dress and Bree took the time.to try and find or order us a new one, but...there wasn't one close enough and none available online. So the hook on the back the loop was undone. Bree suggest a shop to see if they could fix it , so we wod not be stuck with the dress if we took it with the discount offered. Well it was fixae and we bought the dress.. yea!! Windsor, oh Windsor. You used to be such a big and magical store. Really only magical because of your plethora of fancy occasion dresses in the back, but the other stuff was ok, too; some cute skirts and less-fancy dresses, every once in a while I could find something I liked. Overpriced, but sometimes my mom takes me shopping. Yes, still. I'm 28, Windsor, but broke. But now you've moved into a location that's a fraction of your former space. The rows and rows of fancy sparkly satiny floofy strappy lacy beaded tulle dresses have been reduced to a few racks that look like an afterthought. The other merchandise is crowded together like it's afraid of losing more of the herd. The sale racks, as always, suck. Oh Windsor, the fun we used to have on rare occasions!
