The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Marilou put me at ease by explaining everything that was going to be done by the doctor. The first visit left a good impression, but not a great one. The office staff was kind, respectful, helpful, and transparent. The same applies to the dental team. The receptionist was phenomenal. The dental hygienist, Andy, was incredibly reassuring and executed his skills beautifully and gently. Dr. Morgan eloquently explained my findings and explained the next steps. I don't feel like he pushed an agenda. The only reason I don't give them a 5-star review is that they lack professionalism and organization as a whole. When creating rapport with patients, stick to the vague rapport-building questions relevant to the experience. Good rapport building includes questions, like "What has your past dental experience been like? I've never heard that name before. How do you pronounce it? Is there anything we can do to help you feel more comfortable? How are you today?" Bad rapport building questions that are not relevant to the dental experience, "Do you have children? Do you live alone? Do you have pets?" Especially in 2025, we don't ask people if they have children in places where it's not relevant, because one never knows the struggles or the pain that question can cause. Furthermore, the dental team talks to each other across the room about the patient they are working on, and they don't seem to have their flow of procedures down. They give a little all-over-the-place vibe. It is evident they are attempting to create a good experience for the patient, and I appreciate the effort. I left Kaiser where I had Senior Advantage Plus account which covered the dental. It was a HMO and I did try 3 dentists on their list. Various reasons I did not like the dentists I tried. Most dental offices do not take new patients with a HMO I found. So I signed up for a PPO service through AARP. I choose Windsor Dental Group as a new dentist. It was very refreshing to be treated with such respect and kindness from the time I walked into the office and until I left. They did a very through new patient questionnaire, a very good and professional cleaning and then the dentist came in and did an exam. They did make a referral for a dentist that would do one or two new implants when/if I want to do that. I was so pleased with everyone in this office, and I am so glad this was my choice for my new dentist. I am looking forward to the next several years to stay with this office. I've been seeing another dentist I. Santa Rosa for about 8 year and always felt taken advantage of. Came to Windsor Dental on referral of my daughter and wow!!!! What a stark difference! Everyone here has been fantastic in my two visits so far. No one has attempted to pressure me into paying for additional services or extra cleanings, or any other profit boosting procedures. I've been going to this practice since Dr. Conklin opened it, they have gone through a couple other owners , the Dentist and Andy are great, but their front office is not organized, they ask me to pay when I'm there , I always paid my portion, next thing, I get a bill, I called and said my plan covers the cleaning and X-rays, they said that I could be reimbursed by my insurance company, I don't think so, I've never had to do this in the past! So I call and the gal says, oh you have a credit of $25 well I don't want a credit, I want a refund, and why didn't you send a bill which showed a credit? I'm over it!!! read more

This is by far the worst experience that I have had dealing with a dentist office. They met with me once and it went fine. I scheduled the next appointment and got a reminder text message that confirmed my appointment. They texted me last minute and said they had a last minute opening a few weeks ago and I told them I couldn't do it. I got another text right before my 3:30pm appointment today that they wanted to change it to 3:10pm. I didn't realize that they were trying to change the day as well so I agreed. They called right after and said I didn't have an appointment today at 3:30pm. I copied and pasted the text reminder confirming my appointment and the lady just said she didn't know what happened, but that I can't come in today even though they confirmed the appointment and sent me a reminder text. Are you kidding me?! I took off time off of work and this place has been a nightmare to work with. Don't waste your time dealing with them and them canceling your appointments on you that they set up last minute on you, it's not worth it! read more

I am of the opinion that if you have a good hygienist and follow the advise they give you there won't be too much interaction with the dentist. Andy is absolutely the best hygienist. When my long time dentist retired a few years ago I followed Andy to Windsor Dental Group and I'm sure it was the right decision. He's the best. Unfortunately, the front desk staff is quite rude on the phone when calling to cancel an appointment and then they charge $75 which is a ridiculous amount considering that I've been going to them for over a year. If I'm going to be 100% honest who honestly likes going to the dentist, well I can tell you I feel so much better going here. I treat my teeth like crap and when they talked to me I didn't feel like I was getting lectured about the dental hygiene. My first time going I was so nervous and shaking they explained everything they were going to do and I didn't feel any pain at all that a little Advil couldn't fix. Also I can't thank them enough for always calling to make an appointment they are more on top of it then I ever will be. With so much crap going on in someone's day you forget about calling to make an appointment , well they don't . Everyone is so kind and caring from the receptionist the Dr. everyone. I have been seeing Dr. Conklin for over 5 years now and he is wonderful! My whole family sees him - my grandparents (when they were alive), my parents, and myself. His website talks about gentle treatment (now there's a thought for dentists) - this is true. I have had only one root canal and I can say that it did not hurt ONE BIT. ROOT CANAL - DIDN'T HURT! I know, unbelievable, but true. He has a wonderful, kind staff - the kind of place you go where people remember your name and ask about your family. They're genuinely concerned about you and they take care of you. All of them are gentle and they talk you through your procedures. If you flinch, they stop. I also want to mention that they use state-of-the-art technology. Getting new crowns used to take several painful days while you waiting for your dentist to get the crown back from the crown-making company and in the meantime you had to wear the temporary one. Now, it takes an hour or two for the whole process. It's been great for people like my mother who has a mouthful of old crowns (you know, those fun ones with trace amounts of mercury? Or is it lead? Anyway . . .). I also know that they do cosmetic dentistry but I have never had any need for that, so I cannot review that portion of their service. This is a great place to go, especially if you have a family. Did I mention that they have TVs on the ceiling for you to watch while you're getting your teeth cleaned? What is this TV-on-the-ceiling business?! read more

I have been a patient here for a couple of years now and I have decided to leave for various reasons. Fist off I have a partial upper that has gaps between the gum and the top of the false tooth that make the partial come loose if I bite on any kind of solid food. I asked them to fix it but all they did was tighten the denture to the point it was hurting my tooth. Also on several occasions I have found that having any kind of a balance has a tendency to increase on its own. I had a $110.00 balance from a couple months ago that turned into $310.00. My late wife asked me several times about the balances fluctuating like that but I just figured it was a miss on our part. Now I have a broken tooth that needs emergency care and Martha let me know that the only way she will let me be seen is if I fork down $310 and she was very rude the last 2 times I have talked to her simply because I have a small balance?. If we were talking about a $1000.00 that would be different. Another thing I just realized from past invoices is this practice is very, very expensive! I wanted to keep my business local to Windsor and support the local guy but never again. I think if the 3 people who have written good reviews actually look at whats being charged for services they might have a different outlook. It's too bad because Dr Conklin is actually a pretty nice guy. read more

I have been going to Dr. Conklin for many years and have never had a problem. I love Denise, my hygienist . I like Dr. Conklin as well and have found him to be conservative in his treatment. I always appreciated that fact. I am now retired and have not had dental insurance for the last couple of years. Not a problem with my healthy teeth. There is a new partner who took me aback. When asked to check a tooth for a minor cosmetic issue he tried to push me into a cosmetic procedure that would cost $4500! That is why I only gave 3 stars. read more

My son recommended this practice to me, and i'd have no problem recommending it to anyone else. They try hard and succeed at all they do and overlook no detail. Getting an appointment is easy; reminders make it easy to remember to keep the appointment; the wait is brief in the well stocked waiting room; and both the hygienists and Dr. Seely are friendly and good at what they do. Dr Seely and his staff have no integrity when dealing with patients especially when it comes to financial concerns. After quoting me an "estimate" of $12.50, I was sent a bill for $829.00 and told that the "estimate" is just that. The real reason the bill was so high is because the person who gave me the estimate read my insurance information incorrectly in regards to whether my benefits start on January 1 or July 1. After multiple phone conversations and being told that it is illegal for them to give me any kind of a discount, they finally conceded to giving me a $200 discount on the bill (legalities notwithstanding), despite the fact that the entire bill was the fault of the staff who misread the insurance information and misquoted my estimate. Furthermore, after multiple phone calls and requests to have Dr. Seely call me/my husband personally and multiple excuses for why he did not call back (too busy with patients, doesn't handle finances, out of the office today), needless to say, this dental practice just lost two patients as well as the people who referred us here. Refusing to discuss an issue with an upset customer (or outright lying on the part of the receptionist, promising the doctor would call, then calling back and making excuses for why he won't) shows a lack of understanding of basic customer service skills and a lack of dignity and integrity. With dental services being a dime a dozen, even the "small local guys", patient satisfaction and customer service are integral to running a business and this business clearly lacks those qualities. read more

Just before moving away from Windsor, I had all my kids' teeth cleaned (we had been going to Dr. Conklin for 10 years and got our teeth cleaned every 6 months). One of my kids needed some work done - I wasn't sure what because nobody ever went over what work needed to be done with myself or my husband (he is a teenager) - they just scheduled the appointments and my daughter took him. After we moved away, I received a bill for over $1000. This was not for my portion of the work done, this was because they maxed out his insurance for the year and did work even over that amount without even letting us know. I called and spoke to his wife and asked why they did that without even letting us know and all she did was apologize - but make it clear we would need to pay. On another occasion, about 2 years ago, my husband went in with a tooth ache and Dr. Conklin opened up a tooth, did a partial root canal and referred him to the specialist to complete it, which was done. Not 3 days later, it turns out that he had opened up and done the root canal on the WRONG TOOTH! This would mean we would end up paying out of pocket for the root canal to be done on the correct tooth as the first one would max out the insurance for the year. When Dr. Conklin was notified and we asked for a discount of some sort formally in a letter, he denied even one cent of a discount for his mistake and told us we could take it to the dental board if we didn't agree with his decision - My husband doesn't even recall him even taking an x-ray of the tooth, he just tapped them and thought he had the right one. Why we didn't leave after that is beyond me (we loved the hygenist)...but my husband never went back. Lastly, after going there for 10 years, you would think if he passed by you in the hallway while on your way to the hygenist's chair he would say "hi".....NOPE! Just walks right by like he doesn't even know you. I have heard this from friends I referred to him as well.....if you ask me - find a better dentist...it's unfortunate because the hygenists and dental assistant at his office are the only reason I stayed all those years - they are amazing.
