He makes his own crowns and works on teeth which have been worked on previously repaired and now need care or replacing. He is friendly and his staff is also. Dr. Yee is the Crown Whisperer! BEST DENTIST I have EVER had (I'm 55). He is caring, professional, gentle, wicked smart, a tech genius who obviously loves his craft. He pays serious attention to every little detail, I was VERY well taken care of by everyone. I am SO happy to have found him. SIX stars, not 5. Really. I recently moved to the area, and I don't look forward to choosing a new dentist. It's not like you can shop and decide, you sort of have to go in and take your chances? OMG, not so with Wine Country Smiles! Everyone there is exceptional, not kidding. You can tell they took their time finding just the right people for staff. We live next door but they really do treat us like we're neighbors. I've never had anyone in a dentist's office take the time to get to know us like they ALL did (not even one person somewhere else has ever, not like this). I've always thought it was strange to sit down in "the chair" and have your dentist go to work...while you can't really talk? Dr. Yee sat and got to know me, I mean, we were talking kids in college, all sorts of things before he started. In just a month or so my wife & I have been back maybe 6 times? Initial exams (required by California), then cleanings, and then some work. I had cracked a molar and was having food get stuck, was worried it might decay... I got in to have a crown (none as an adult until now). I had headphones on (they supplied them with Pandora) so I maybe missed something Dr. Yee said, but I got the Novocain shot and literally didn't know it happened until I realized I was getting numb. He told me later (because he answered every question and explained everything) that he uses a custom process with several steps to minimize the pain his patients feel. There's a topical numbing applied, a step to prevent the shot's preservative from causing pain, and a computer-controlled machine that pushes the shot's plunger (he told me a person pushes too fast and THAT causes pain). But I'm telling you, it WORKS. I did not know I was getting the shot (and I HATE that part more than anything; needle in the jaw? No thanks!) The crown is designed with a 3D laser scan in your mouth (basically a stick with a red light on it). He moves it around and it maps your teeth. I personally am a fan of tech, and I loved all the explanations and details. He showed me the sort of animated view on his computer screen before the crown was made, and actual before & after pictures too. The crown is milled from a blank in his lab (he showed me) and 90 minutes later he was putting it in my mouth. Nice. I was worried how tight it would be, I have close teeth and floss gets stuck & breaks/shreds a lot. The crown is spot-on, absolutely perfect. I don't know its not my own tooth for how it fits. Space for floss is exactly right, nothing extra. Like I said, the Crown Whisperer. This man is an extremely talented craftsman, nothing less. Dr Yee doesn't know it yet, but that's it, I've seen enough. I won't go to another dentist for any reason. If I move, I'm gonna come back. Right now my teeth are cleaned and fixed, I LOVE it. I had the most wonderful experience at this office. Everyone is super super nice. I had a really good cleaning with Karen so my teeth feel nice n clean. At the time i had my fillings appointment Dr Yee explained what they were going to do so there would not be any surprises but since i have had bad experiences before since i was a child the one that make me feel the most comfortable was his assistant Diane, she saw how scared i was during the procedure and she put her hand on my shoulder letting me know everything was fine, offered music so i would relax ( i had never listened to music at n dental office before n it makes a huge difference) and it went so smooth. I read Dr Yee's reviews on Yelp, and thought he might be a good choice for a new dentist. My experience in trying to make a first appointment changed my mind. Before I would even be able to see him, I was told that I would be required to have 18 x-rays of my teeth , though I have no problems with my teeth or gums. Every year thereafter, I would be again required to have 8 more x-rays. Radiation is cumulative. The ADA since 2012 now does not recommend regular x-rays unless there are clinical findings or symptoms where an x-ray might be useful in diagnosis or treatment. When I suggested a meeting and clinical exam with Dr Yee before having x-rays, I was told by the 2 women I talked to-- a receptionist and the office manager that I would not be allowed an appointment because it was his 'policy' for all patients to have the X-rays or he would not see them. The office manager then told me to 'have a nice day!' WOW. No thanks! read more

I have been going to Dr. Lyle for over 13 years and would never go to any other Dentist. I had to go to an office my HMO Ins sent to me and cancelled it, because I wanted to continue with Dr. Yee for the simple reason he is the best as a Dentist and honest person. He will work with you and I either paid cash or Care Credit if I had to have major work. I trust him so much because, he will never tell you something has to be done or sell you something you don't need. He is honest and a very caring person and a terrific Dentist. He makes sure you are comfortable and I have never felt pain when he worked on my teeth, from root canals, to simple fillings if needed. I was terrified of going to a Dentist, but not with my visits to his office. Even when he gives you an injection to numb, you don't feel the needle. Going to Dr. Yee, is a pleasant experience. I don't think many people feel going to a Dentist is a pleasant experience, but you will see. Read all the 5 stars, don't just take my word. Diana his asst. is also very kind and pleasant and makes sure you are comfortable and they work well together. Debra and Lisa his office staff are also very nice. His office is very clean and since Covid I have been there since the beginning and was not nervous about it, because they take all the necessary steps for a very safe atmosphere. I was in the chair for three hours twice for major work and had no hesitation about it. I am elderly and covid was a high risk for me, but I didn't think twice about being in the office or around the staff or Dr. Yee and Diane. I hadn't been to the dentist in several years due to lack of insurance and was experiencing quite a bit of pain. After recently getting dental insurance again, I was worried I needed too much done or I'd be judged. My experience was the complete opposite! The staff was very friendly and Dr. Yee was kind and gentle. He looked at the area that was causing me pain, quickly found the issue and offered to do the work right then and there. Unfortunately I didn't allow that much time off work (thinking it would be a run of the mill exam and I'd have to schedule work another day, my mistake) so we rescheduled for the following week. I had the luck to find this dental office recently. I have a healthy dental phobia created by past bad experiences so searching for a new dentist is troubling to say the least. My first impression of the office was with the receptionist who is one of the most pleasant and caring persons I have had the opportunity to come in contact with. She took the time to LISTEN to my fears and helped me through the appointment process. The appointment with Dr Yee was just as pleasant. He LISTENS and tries to make the experience as pain free as possible, all the while asking for my input so as to keep it that way. The hygienist ROCKS. The support staff is caring and compassionate. I was referred to Dr. Lyle Yee by a family friend that works in the dental industry and really knows his stuff, so to speak. I was thoroughly impressed from start to finish. I'm a college student and I work in customer service, so I know good service and I'm often subjected to poor services as a result people's tendency to assume I'm incompetent because of my young age...that was certainly not the case at this dental office. All of my prior experiences at hospitals and dental offices do not compare to the quality service I received at Wine Country Smiles. On top of being incredibly fast and minimally invasive, Dr. Lyle Yee was so kind and mindful of my comfort throughout the appointment--and even let me listen to Pandora with headphones he gave me to muffle the sounds of the tools that were making me uneasy. His work was excellent quality, and he walked me through everything he was doing, showed me pictures of my tooth through each step of the procedure, and not to mention, he gave me a voucher for a free smoothie at the Juice shack down the street! Not only was Dr. Yee wonderful but so was the rest of his staff! Both, Alicia at the front desk and Diane, the dental assistant, were an absolute delight. They both made me very comfortable throughout the entire process and Diane even held my hand when she noticed I was getting a little nervous while Dr. Yee was giving me a shot--How sweet is that?! After two appointments I was so comfortable and I felt like I've known these people forever. The anxiety I usually feel when visiting the dentist was completely gone. Lyle takes the time to explain and show everything with color photos of your teeth. He performed a filling replacement and there was NO pain at all. They use state of the art equipment. I have been going to Dr. Lyle Yee for years and no insurance. Now I have Insurance through my HMO, but not with him. Guess what, when I need work done on my teeth, I will skip the insurance and pay cash through Care Credit in installments just so Dr. Yee and no other Dentist works on my teeth or performs surgery on my mouth. I only trust Dr. Yee, his experience, caring, knowledge and gentleness. He has a great staff, because he is a caring person and his staff are caring also. Diane his assistant is very good and gentle. Rene and Teri, his hygentist are very good. I do go once a year to get my cleaning at the office my HMO sends me too and use my Insurance then. They are OK, but no one beats Wine Country Smiles. I have been OK so far with the teeth, because of Dr. Yee. I have not been there lately, but that is where I will go when work needs to be done regardless of no Ins. Do yourself a big favor when you need a great Dentist and staff and make an appointment. You will never be afraid to go to the Dentist again and your smile will be great. read more

Probably not the least expensive, but all the most current tools to minimize pain and ease of visits.
