I have been seeing Dr. Austin Griffith, DDS, since August 2025, when I developed a dental emergency. Over the years I have had some really bad dental experiences, and unfortunately, and to my detriment, I have developed "dental phobia". Leaving me without an established dentist when I really needed one. Getting credible recommendations from friends was my first criteria for finding a dentist. I called a few, and not surprisingly I could not get an immediate appointment. Researching online, I found the offices of Andrew McCormick DDS & Austin Griffith DDS, were voted Voted Best Dentist in Santa Rosa by Readers of Bohemian Magazine. I gave them a call, and I was pleasantly surprised to get an appointment the very next day. They have been gracious and accommodating ever since then. On my first visit, Dr. Griffith spent an inordinate amount of time going over my history, and current dental issue. He listened to my concerns including my fears, he was compassionate, kind, and knowledgeable. And as an added plus, he had a great sense of humor! If you are looking for an experienced dentist who takes the time to listen to you, has good communication skills, is thoughtful, and gentle, Dr. Griffith fits the bill. My wife got the Mother of All emergency root canals on a Friday, and Dr Mac not only took us as unknown walk-ins, he gave us his HOME phone for any emergency issues over the weekend and actually called US on Sunday to make sure things were OK! As someone with anxiety around the dentist, Dr McCormick and his staff took the time to ensure I was comfortable and it helps that as a patient you are included and informed about your chart, X-rays and treatments. You feel taken care of and that they really do care about your oral health. You leave feeling empowered to maintain that at home. When I came in I had deep pockets measuring from 4-7 and after my gum treatments in just 4 months they range from 1-3. This is the gentlist dentist I have ever seen. He fixed my broken front tooth and my husband said he can't find where it was repaired. My husband was impressed with the staff, the office, and the work. He said it was obvious that the guy was an artist. I was a dental hygienist (not for Dr. McCormick) so I know. He uses specialized equipment when he removes silver fillings so you don't breath in the fumes..The staff is very friendly. My husband and I both have had great care, the work is excellent, and the office staff is friendly and attentive. I'm very dental care phobic, and dr. Had a terrible toothache in early May and could not find a Dentist. My Dentist has a recording saying they will be closed for the Month of May. It took 4 days to find a dentist that was opened. I called Andrew McCormick office and said if it was a emergency you could call him on his cell phone. I called him and he called me back Monday morning and set up a appt. for 2:00 PM that day. I had a infected tooth that needed to be pulled but first he gave me antibiotics to take for a week and pain killers and scheduled to pull the tooth in a week and do a bridge. After the tooth pulling and bridge, there was more pain that the pain killers didn't help so I called his office and he personally talked with me and I told him that Bayer Extra Strength asprin worked better and he told me I could take them. The pain and swelling went down in a week and now no pain and the eye tooth looks great so I can smile. He takes many precautions because of the Corona Virus. Also, gave me a good price for the bridge, since my dental insurance didn't cover that. read more

Ever since I was a young kid, I've had chronic gum problems. While my prior dentists were unable to correct this problem, Dr. McCormick, fortunately, was able to correct the correct this problem. After a few sessions with Dr. McCormick and his dental hygienists, sessions in which they performed laser treatment on my gums and detailed a plan to improve my oral health (switching mouthwashes from Listerine to Closys, etc., purchasing a smaller toothbrush head), the health of my gums drastically improved. Dr. McCormick's office has the most advanced dental equipment and the most hospitable a well-informed staff. If you're unhappy with your current dentist, I highly recommend switching to Dr. McCormick. I made the switch in 2007 and have been very happy with my decision. read more
