Unfortunately, last weekend I managed to severely damage my windshield on my BMW 650I. The crack was larger than 6 inches and I knew from a prior experience several years ago that it would need to be replaced, not repaired. Most insurance policies cover minor repairs to windshields without having to pay your deductible, but this was well beyond that point and I figured I was in for a bill upwards of $1300 for a new unit from the stealership. Well, I was about right with my estimation and just the OEM windshield from the dealership runs $1200 in addition to the cost of installation.... It was definitely time to search for an alternative! After a fairly lengthy conversation with Jason (the owner) at windshield wonder I decided this was the place for my replacement. I was quoted $480 for the part including installation. Jason promised a lifetime warranty against air leaks, water leaks, and stress cracks (cracks originating from the perimeter of the windshield with no signs of impact). He was sure to ensure the rain sensor and condensation sensor pads were reinstalled properly on the new glass. They were able to come and do the repair the same day! the new glass was installed in under an hour (in my office parking lot, how convenient) and looks great. We needed our windshield repaired sooner rather than later because were were about to head out for a road trip and called around to see who could help us. A few places said they could do it but not for a day or two. This is my second time calling Jason to repair a windshield chip. The first time I think he came the next day. He was professional and courteous and did a good job. The second time was today. I called around 8:15am and he came around 10:15am. He was once again professional and courteous. I would definitely recommend him to anyone in the area. One thing you should know. Depending on the chip. You may see a little something after it is fixed. It will definitely be a lot better than it was, but this isn't magic. Made an appointment with Jason on 10/19 for 10/20 arrival between 12 noon and 4 pm. Waited until 3:35 and called Jason to check status. He told me his technician called numerous times (not true) and "you weren't there". When I told him that I was home all afternoon, he told me his technician went home to Lake Hopatcong and that I would have to wait another 4 hours the next day because "he wouldn't adjust the next day's schedule and piss off another customer"(?). He then hung up on me, followed by a text stating "It's not our fault if you don't answer your phone". The point of the technician's phone call was to let me know that he was on his way (SEE SUPPORTING REVIEW OF PATTY P.), not to ask if I was home. A professional would still show up at the house, where he would have found both me and my wife present and waiting. When I checked my phone, I found one call. Missing the call was my fault, but unless the customer cancels, the appointment stands. He would have been within his rights to charge me a fee if I wasn't home when he arrived. These guys came to my house to replace my rear windshield same day within the hours they promised and were out before 1 hour. They also vacuumed my car and got most of the glass up...I do have to revacuum because of the little slivers but it was good they got the majority. The guy came to my house the next morning after I got the crack in my windshield and he managed to fix it up even though it was questionable at first because he thought he might have to put in a new windshield with how the crack was but he did a great job and patched it up and he guaranteed it will stay in place.
