*RESPONSE TO OWNER'S TWO COMMENTS FURTHER DOWN IN REVIEW* I'm only going to state facts in this review. After having trouble with my rain sensor after my windshield replacement, Jason (the owner) is now refusing to do anything about my rain sensor which isn't functioning at full capacity and wasn't installed correctly (particularly the gel pad for the rain sensor). Ever since the replacement, my rain sensor has a tendency to allow a lot of water to accumulate on the windshield before the wipers activate. This is most likely due to the fact that my rain sensor is filled with air bubbles, and the gel pad (maintains optical clarity for IR sensors), was cut incorrectly, and prevents close to 50% of my rain sensor from "seeing" the rain. To add to that, the air bubbles and cuts are aesthetically unpleasing and are very noticeable, if my car wasn't like that before the replacement then it shouldn't be like that afterwards. (Companies like Safelite even replace the sensors in this situation). I gave Jason a call today expressing my displeasure with the rain sensor job. He was very nasty and kept claiming that "it works." I kept telling him that it was inconsistent and a lot of water had to accumulate at times before it activated, but he didn't care as long as the wipers activated at some point. Again, he was very nasty and asked me if I was an "expert" on rain sensors and windshields. He then continued to argue with me over the phone, and became very defensive, claiming that "he doesn't know how my original rain sensor worked." The phone call ended with him telling me that he has other customers (which were obviously more important than me) and that he's hanging up. So that's the type of company this is. Money grabbers who don't care about customer satisfaction. If the owner of the company is willing to hang up on a customer what does that tell you? I referred one of my friends to this company, and by losing me this company has lost 2 customers and any other referrals. Customer satisfaction goes a long way, but Windshield Wonder, specifically Jason doesn't agree with that. I attached pictures of my rain sensor--You can decide if you would be satisfied with the results. In order to reply/correct Jason's comment below:------------------- I would like to start off by saying that while it is true that my vehicle was worked on 3 times. However, his reasons listed are false. 1st visit- Windshield replacement 2nd visit- Confirmation of faulty rain sensor caused by lack of gel pad 3rd visit- Application of new gel pad (which was installed as pictured, but I was told by the technician would go away with the sun in December) Being that December-March was snowing, cold, and barely sunny, I held off calling about the issue because the sun didn't have enough time to penetrate. I believe I called Jason again in March or April to notify him that the sensor remained the same, but he insisted the sun would make it go way. Now that the weather has gotten nicer and the sun has been blazing, it still remains as pictured so I called again in today, in May. Another false statement from Jason is that I informed him that "[me] and another company both worked on and opened the gel pack pad." I simply told him that I took a closer look at the sensor with a flashlight (my iPhone flashlight--positioned like in the attached photo) to take a better look at the sensor to see what the air bubbles were covering. This is when I noticed that my gel pad was improperly cut, and cut too much for the optical eye, another reason why the sensor looks as pictured. Personally, I believe that Jason's attempt to cover up the aftermath of the installation with a bogus story proves that he acknowledges the installation is poor. Knowing that I had a 1yr warranty, why would I risk altering with the gel pad on my own? Also notice that Jason DID NOT deny his nasty remarks that he made to me over the phone in his comment. Since his story is bogus, and I did not alter the gel pad, his refusal to fix the gel pad means that he doesn't honor his warranty either. SECOND REPLY TO OWNER: Regardless of whether the warranty was 1 year or lifetime, why would I PAY another company to try to "work on the rain sensor gel pad?" I'm obviously making an effort to try to get this problem fixed under warranty, so the bogus story of having it altered by another company doesn't make sense. If hanging up on customers and questioning their expertise is considered "professional," then so be it, why did you not address that point in your original response? Additionally, what proof do you have that I altered the rain sensor gel pad? All you've done is make up the story but failed to back it up with any facts. The sections of the rain sensor that don't have bubbles are originally sealed, NOT resealed, so it wasn't altered with and the story is bogus. Jason just doesn't want to fix it because "it works." I drove in to NJ to visit family for the holidays, and on my way here a piece of gravel or a rock flew off of a truck in front of me and hit my windshield, creating a hairline crack roughly 3 or 4 inches long. I didn't know who to call about this but saw the great reviews for Windshield Wonder on Yelp and decided to give the company a try. Boy, am I ever glad I did!! I had a chip in my windshield that slowly grew and due to the really cold weather two weeks ago, the chip spread to about 2.5 feet...overnight. I originally called Safelight to set up an appointment & get a quote. The price ended up close to $600 which included the windshield, some mobile fee & a disposable fee! I thought they were coming the next day to replace my windshield, but I was wrong - they were coming the next week. This didn't work for me. I came across Windshield Wonders, read some reviews and gave them a call. Jason was able to set up an appointment for me the very next day! He was early, and done within an hour as promised. All these 5-star reviews are not BS. These guys are real deal pros. Their pricing will blow away outfits like Safelite who nickel and dime you with extra charges like glass disposal. And the WW guys come to your house at no extra charge. That's an extra $30 fee from Safelite! Jason and Derrell The Yankee Fan called in advance to let me know they were coming and asked if it was ok to come early! Not like the cable guys who keep you imprisoned all day waiting for them. The job was completed in no time, repairs were made to areas that were done incorrectly by the previous car owner, (they probably went to Safelite...), everything was cleaned up, bill paid, and they were on their way to make another customer happy. I've been driving around with foggy/cloudy headlights for more than a year. I finally brought the car into the dealer and they wanted $350 to polish them. I found Windshield Wonder online and they came that afternoon to my home and polished the headlights for $85 plus tax. I shaved over $250 and have a 2-5 year warranty. The headlights look brand new -- crystal clear. James was the nicest guy. After I input my information, I received a call within a short time with a much more competitive price quote. And I was able to schedule next day repair. Called on Wednesday, 6/10/15 for windshield replacement. Spoke with Jason who was extremely helpful. Given an appointment for Friday, 6/12/15, with window of service between 12 and 4 PM. Jason and Jeff called before coming, arrived at 12:40pm. Windshield completely installed, area cleaned up by 1:25PM. Windshield care and warranty instructions clear and concise. I recently had a rock chip cause a crack in my windshield. Jason was very responsive and advised me how to prevent it from spreading before he could fix it. He came as soon as I was available, was very thorough and fixed it in less than 30 minutes. He offers a lifetime guarantee. Called them on short notice and they were able to fit me in first thing the next morning for a total windshield replacement. They gave a 3 hour window and remained in contact with estimates on arrival time. They came right to where the car was parked and replaced it in a professional manner. When a rock hit my window all I saw was dollar signs!!! But thank god for these guys, most reasonable price without all the extra fees. I called Windshield Wonder to replace my back windshield (I had put gouges in it last winter when I got impatient that my ice scraper wasn't fast enough). And even though I was extremely annoyed at myself, and the gouges didn't affect how the defroster or antenna worked, it was a 2013 car.
