The water was running and I had no way to turn it off. A little cursing happened and I went to the basement to turn off the water to the house. After a little bit of a search on 'ye ol' internet I found that our cartridge in our faucet handle went bad. It looked easy enough to do myself so I looked up some videos and found the instructions and got to work. The only hiccup? I needed a new cartridge to replace the broken one. I called Stadium Hardware and spoke to the very friendly Allison who patched me over to plumbing to make sure they had what I needed in stock. Paul helped me out and made sure he had the right item set aside for me. Back to Allison who ran my payment over the phone and I was in my car to pick up the item in minutes. I pulled up to the back and they loaded it in my trunk. Bing bang boom! I was off. And after a bit more cursing, a bit of sweating, and a few false starts our water was back on AND off. FYI -- The store is open to in store shoppers and masks are required. I'm very hardcore about my social distancing due to some vulnerable people in my family so I was really happy to have the curbside pick up option available. Thanks for your help, Stadium!

It took some time to get…read moreexactly the door I wanted, but as soon as they had it they called set a date and time and installed it. The left the work site neater than they found it, and dealt with some tricky issues leftover from the previous owners unskilled labor. This is true proof that skilled labor isn't cheap, but cheap labor is not skilled. I truly could not be happier.

One horrifying chore we needed to do was replace the front stairs. We hated on this idea for so long that the renters finally complained! So, Fendt was the first place I thought of. They are very close, of course. I believe they did Mom's brickwork 20 years ago and that is German-garden style well-done! We hardly ever have to weed or sand it. Very nice. We ended up getting a couple of on-site crafted stairs and support blocks for underneath. They look great! Hey, be sure you wear back support when you do chores like this, OK? :-)

I have found the product selection, the staff and their knowledge (each person may have a speciality over another of course but not everyone can possibly be an expert in all things) and if they are not sure they will always find someone who does know how to help me. I have found this store to be refreshing particularly as a woman as I am oftentimes given the label of "she doesn't know what she's doing". I am actually very handy and impress my male friends more than they'd like to admit. I've been handy since I was a little kid fixing things before my dad got home from work so my mom wouldn't have to deal with holding the flashlight over him for 7+ hours trying to fix something he knew nothing about. I am treated with respect and their employees are not only friendly and proactive without being annoying they assume I do know what I'm asking for even if I may not, I applaud their team and leadership as it creates an environment that I feel excited to be in and confident I will be helped by someone who is capable of helping or honest enough to say they are not an expert in that area but will find someone who is and do some research of their own and listen in so they can learn too! I was floored by this particularly last time I visited the store. Thank you for providing a great experience and knowledge to help me figure out what I need and next steps to tackle my many many home projects. I always find the coolest gifts in here too, there are so many hidden gems. Like a…read morelot of long-standing shops, this place has old pictures on the wall --- only here, you feel like you've walked into them. Our house was missing a few storm windows, and had a few others due for replacement; I ordered up a set from Robertson's. The largest panes wouldn't fit in my little car, so I asked about delivery options; Robertson's doesn't deliver, but will give you a business card for Metro Delivery, which worked out just fine. Prices were on par with Home Depot or Lowe's, but the flexibility, responsiveness, and overall experience were a world better. The windows themselves are nicely made --- I wouldn't go as far as "works of art" as they're fairly low-tech (strips of gasket, mitre-cut aluminum), but reasonable materials and solid workmanship. Definitely my go-to for screens & windows, either normal-ish or very custom.
