I will say that she's very patient and kind. The only feedback I could offer to her is to allow more of us to do more hands-on stuff in the beginning of the class. I do understand that she's teaching us how to use the instruments in the kitchen, but the point of the classes is to be interactive, and many of us spent 30 minutes in being in the class just watching which was essentially a waste of time because my philosophy is that you should be doing instead of watching. Now in terms of the chicken, the cooking process was long. It took around 1 1/2 hours to make the dinner which was all right, but most of us were hungry by the end. I will say the class was worth it for the French pastry. We made profiteroles which was super fun and a lot of us really loved it. The dinner was not very filling though and the class did not have enough chairs for us to sit down when we were going to eat our food. Many of the participants in the class were elderly in this required them to be standing up for 3 to 4 hours, which was very intense even for me. All in all, it's a very good concept, but I will say that they need to be more prepared to handle a large class volume, and they need to allow us to do more hands-on stuff instead of us watching, especially since we're paying money to learn how to cook!

Ok then, took my stock # to Lowe's, who were very friendly, and bought my two Koehler sinks there at 40% lower price. I'm tired that crappy, rude customer service gets blamed on staffing COVID issues. Done spending my money here.

Ferguson took no responsibility for the products they sold us. Our representative didn't return our calls and the store manager was difficult to contact. We were eventually told to contact Blanco. Blanco did not respond to our attempts to contact them by email and phone. When calling the customer is put on hold and after a long wait the phone disconnects. The sinks were expensive and we have wasted a great deal of time and aggravation to try and resolve the issue. The only option we are left with now is to contact an attorney and take it to court.

Bottom line: I do not recommend KSI and do not plan to hire them ever again. Read on for more…read moredetails. The design process was relatively easy - I sent the designer photographs of the bathroom, dimensions that I provided, and a Pinterest inspo page that I created to reflect our design taste. From these, she created a project proposal with estimate. My husband and I appreciated the level of service early in the process compared to other companies we contacted, felt comfortable with our quote, and decided to move forward with KSI. After this, there was a brief visit to our home by the designer and contractor to confirm measurements. A visit to the KSI showroom finalized our cabinetry, flooring, and counter selections. You will not be able to buy lighting or plumping fixtures from KSI and you will be sent elsewhere. If you want a high level of service with your designer, that will not happen with KSI - They do not accompany you on these trips or provide input. The designer was responsive throughout the process, but I do feel like she was overly busy sometimes and I did feel like her attention to detail was sometimes lacking. While the design process was relatively easy - Maybe a 3 star process - The actual renovation was 1 star and absolutely the reason that we will never use KSI again. The project was originally estimated to take 3-4 weeks... Actual time: 2.5 months. The workers consistently showed up late in the day - mostly after 4pm - if at all, and made it clear that we were their last priority. When confronted about the delays, which were absolutely due to short work hours and no show days, the contractor became defensive and extremely difficult to communicate with thereafter with long stretches of no responses to questions and ludicrous excuses. It was extremely distressing because other work that was being done on our home needed to be delayed multiple times, while we waited for the bathroom to be finished. We had to have some return visits for very subpar work, mostly related to improper wall preparation and painting, but overall, the workmanship was fine. Even after the work has been done almost a month, we are still waiting for the designer to make her final visit where final billing will be given. She says that the delay is because they are waiting on a gift basket. Really?! This must be some gift basket! I cannot wait to be truly done with KSI. This was a trial run for other projects we want done, including large projects of kitchen and master bathroom remodel, and I would love to say that KSI will miss our business but I am not sure that they even care or will notice.

I found a countertop and asked questions about veining because the countertops that I picked out had veins. First off the guy came to measure the countertops and they were cut two short and they gave us a hard time about that and then to tell me that I could have my contractor fill in the holes. Second I decided to use the countertops as back splashes and again asked the question about the veins matching. They told me they would match. Not the case at all. When they came to install for a second time the veins do not match the backsplashes after I was told they would. They claimed they never said this which is not true and told me that I had buyers remorse. For a $10,000 job they are doing sloppy work and do not care about the customers. I had asked about a discount because now I have to live with ugly countertops that do not match and will only receive a 5% discount which is nothing. The owner does not care about his customers and only cares about his money. Buyers beware of this place. Also when you walk into the shop the staff look miserable as they never have smiles on their faces, it's like they can't be bothered to get up to help you. Buyers beware of this place.

I was curious if they had couches here, as I'm currently shopping around for a large comfy sectional. This isn't the store for that, but they do have a few smaller couches. I was most drawn to their collection of large area rugs at decent prices and floor length mirrors. Keeping this place in my back pocket for those items. That being said, I can still find lower priced rugs and mirrors elsewhere online. The rest of the store feels a little cluttered and chaotic. There are overhead signs to guide you which is helpful, but it felt a bit like you'd have to hunt for items on shelves as everything was packed close together. This could be fun though when you have more time and want to search for the perfect piece! I don't get the impression that this would be my go to or one stop shop if I had specific home goods I wanted or needed, but an option for browsing and being surprised by something fun.

Minus 1 star for taking all damn Summer and part of the Fall. 2) Initial demo of bathroom tile on second floor shook loose a connection in the copper piping in the floor, flooding first floor and basement. Took months to get everything cleaned-up to near-original condition, required constant hounding to get their attention. Minus 1/2 star for the poor attention to a problem they created. 3) They asked for a progress payment when only 1 milestone associated with the payment was finished, a walk-through with a subcontractor. Minus 1/2 star for requesting money for nothing. 4) Remodel included repair to water-damaged ceiling in laundry room. The work was not on the original schedule, kept asking when the work would be done, they responded with, "What work?". Had to break out the contract and quote them back their scope-of-work. The project manager's response? "Wow, I didn't realize that, sorry". Paraphrasing. Minus 1/2 star for Read Your Own Damn Contract. 5) Had a gas fireplace insert installed. Three times. Installed before the wall behind was insulated and finished so it was removed for that, then re-framed and re-installed in the wrong place, had to be re-re-framed and re-re-installed. Minus 1/2 star making something simple so complicated. 6) Had portable storage pod in driveway. Had some landscaping scheduled for after the original finish date which required the pod to be gone. Project manager "guaranteed" work would be done before landscapers started, which wasn't true. Had to schlub everything back into the house where it sat piled-up and in-the-way for a month, then had to get another pod and put it all back. Minus 1/2 star for that bogus guarantee. 7) When the project was almost 60 days overdue, it took a negative post on their Facebook page to get some additional resources and oversite from the owners. Minus 1/2 star for making me complain. 8) We kept having morning meetings, sometimes changes were discussed. I'd come home to find work was done without the changes. We kept having meeting, I kept bringing up the same issues, time and time again. Minus 1/2 star for not taking notes. 9) It's the 4th of July, were on vacation in Chicago, our neighbors call and say there are 2 unmarked cargo vans at our house - is everything OK?. I call the project manager, who says there are no workers at the house, so I call the police and start scrambling - what is the best way to ruin our vacation so I can get back home fast? But - Oops! It's some painters, they're in the house, false alarm. Minus 1/2 star. 10) Had a hardwood floor put into an office space room. On a Monday, the project manager e-mailed me to say the wood would be delivered that day and installed on Wednesday. I get it, it's called "acclimating". I get home that night and the floor is down. Then it sat there for maybe a month before it being top-coated. Minus 1/2 star for what was the rush to ruin the wood? 11) The bathroom remodel is at "plumbing final inspection has passed". My wife takes a bath in her long-awaited, life-long-dream of a soaking tub. I hear it raining in the house. Something came loose, water is poring through a light fixture into the room below. The next day, the project manager - who I haven't seen in a month - comes in, doesn't say a word to me. Not, "Hey sorry this happened, glad your wife didn't get electrocuted, we'll get this fixed...", none of that. Not a word. I ask for Meadowlark to come up with a plan in writing to put GFI's on the circuits that could get flooded if this happens again. Their response displays a genuine lack of concern for my family's safety. Minus 1 star for making me so angry that I post a video of the water pouring through my ceiling to their Facebook page. 12) Lots of other issues I didn't even cover (e.g., the "4-star" painters). In their defense everything looks pretty good, finally. So plus 2 stars for that. So, unless my math is poor, that means 5 stars minus 6 stars plus 2 star = 1 star.
