I emailed Homerite and heard back immediately from Kevin who scheduled an appointment to give us an estimate. I had done my research on Homerite before contacting Kevin and felt comfortable knowing he had a slew of good reviews and was part of the BBB. I received multiple quotes from different companies and decided to go with Kevin since he only has a specific crew of people he works with and was able to match the price I got from Andersen. It was a bit pricey, but I believe I got the best quality for the price and it was worth it! Kevin was easy to work, and once I signed the contract, his crew was at my house and installed the door in a day! Homerite's doors are Miliken which may not be as reknown as Andersen or Pella but their product is great! I chose the Miliken fiberglass oak door (there is a light woodgrain texture to it so it looks like a wood door) and I was able to choose different colors for the inside and outside. I opted for tricorn black on the outside and urbane bronze on the inside. Kevin's crew also installed a new satin nickel door knocker and keypad lock to my door. He also made sure the hinges were satin nickel to match. Such attention to detail and for a door, it looks phenomenal! The crew also installed a framesaver jamb that is made of a composite material in order to prevent water damage and rot. We have had the door for over two years now and it really stands out on our block. Black door against red brick looks fantastic. We recently had some slight peeling on the paint on the jamb (the door still looks brand new!) and I emailed Kevin and he came by the next day just to make sure everything was still in order. He dropped off a can of matching paint for me (July 2012) so I could do a touchup on my own--having had the door installed January 2010--that's phenomenal service! I couldn't recommend Homerite enough!

TL;DR: Poor communication throughout the entire process, poor installation that has caused issues…read moreyears later, subcontractors were used without proper oversight, the job site was left messy, and their mistakes became our financial responsibility I wasn't planning on writing a review because I just wanted to move on from our experience with Charm City Roofing, but unfortunately, our roof continues to cause problems years later. We had a new roof installed by Charm City Roofing at the end of 2023 because the company had excellent reviews and they were reasonable cost. We have a pretty simple duplex so we expected the process to be straightforward. Unfortunately, what should have been an easy roofing project turned into a frustrating and ongoing ordeal that we are still dealing with years later. During the installation, the workers left 20+ roofing nails scattered around our property, with at least half of them near our 2 year old daughter's sandbox. They broke a PVC pipe (sewer backflow pipe) that stuck out of the ground near the house that they later had to come back and fix. Additionally, they cut into the wrong side of our attic while installing solar tunnels that also had to be patched up later due to a lack of communication with workers. We planned to finish our attic in the future and were assured by Darius that a roof exhaust fan would provide sufficient airflow and that soffit ventilation would be "overkill." It was communicated with the company that the attic would be finished in the future, and that we did not expect an exhaust fan to automatically turn it into a livable space. Two months later, we discovered that the underside of the attic roof directly above our daughter's bedroom was now covered in mold due to a lack of air flow. After multiple missed appointments (there were approximately 5 total over the course of the entire ordeal, resulting in wasting at least 3 PTO days) and failed attempts to get someone out to inspect the issue, they finally came to look at it. They then told us we actually would need soffit ventilation and that WE would have to pay to fix the problem. While they were fixing their mistake, the owner informed us that the roof had actually been installed by third party contractors. After correcting those issues, several months later our duplex neighbor noticed water leaking into her closet, something she had never experienced before. She hired another roofer, who found that Charm City Roofing had failed to install proper flashing between the two roofs which required additional repairs. Now, more than two years later, we are still discovering new issues. We are currently getting water leakage near our chimney due to large gaps between the plywood and poor sealing, which we will also now need to fix. Once again we continue to be chasing repairs and trying to correct issues that should have been addressed during the original installation. If you read this far, I think you can see why we don't recommend Charm City Roofing.

Buyer Beware: company recently sold in beginning of 2024 to new owners, new staff except installer…read more Not same reputable company it used to be! This has been an absolute nightmare experience. This company has no idea what they are doing and the worst customer service. We are building a 4 season room and ordered 19 Weathermaster windows ($19,000). Series of events / dates: * Dec 8, 2023- contact signed, 1/3 payment ($6000) made. * Jan 8, 2024- windows measured and to be ordered, 2/3 payment ($6000) made. Contract said ~7-9 weeks completion. * Feb 26- received call from company, foreign person, saying measurements wrong and need to come/measure again * Feb 28- new measurements done, told the order form never listed what size/where the picture window is and which was tempered glass, questioned why not noticed before and was told they just saw wrong measurements looking at the order form. Expressed being upset my windows were never ordered and sat there for the last 7 1/2 weeks. * Feb 29- called office spoke to Donna complaining we were told windows would be another 4 weeks since re-measurement. Explained that my 4 season room construction (IE: completing entire inside of the room, ceiling, insulation) cannot be finished or even worked on until the inspector comes + see's the completed window installation that this setback is costing us time/money. Asked to have manager call us. * March 1-manager Alen D- called to tell us cannot do the 2 smaller triangle windows and would have to do 2 custom windows. Change order to be emailed. He said a different manager was on my job before but is no longer with the company and my order was just sitting there. Complained they dropped the ball and asked what they were going to do for us. Said he would speak to his supervisor and get back to us. * March 13: called left VM- said never got change order and Alen never called back. * March 18: called asking what is happening with windows was told they did not know and would call us back tomorrow. * March 29: called Alen- was told the windows are in and was going to call us today, scheduled installation date, will get a discount but still has to speak to his manager and will call back and supposed to email change order. * April 9- partial windows installed, they noticed THAT morning that 2 of the windows were wrong. Complained that why on March 29 when the windows came into their warehouse that no one from their company checks orders to make sure they are correct. Windows were also not padded at all (just loose windows/frame) to get from warehouse to my house (installer Rick was commenting was trying to use his own blankets/clothing to try to cushion our windows during delivery). * April 10-spoke to Rick (installer), he confirmed suspicion that the company sold and are new owners as to why we are getting the run around since January. Called to speak to Alen. Was instructed it would be 2 weeks to rush order 2 incorrect windows and would be TOP PRIORITY to get installed due to the mess up, complained that we never heard back from him before and that he always says he will get back to us and never does. He complained its hard to get a hold of his boss ... but will get back by Friday. * April 12: Alen called said most he can do agreeing with owner is 500-700 discount and will send over the change order. * April 24: called following up where the windows were and that change order was never sent - spoke to Austin - he said he would speak to Alen and call me back in 15 min - never called back. * April 25: Called Austin said he left voicemail w/Alen to call me. Spoke to Alen said the windows are in production still waiting to get and will probably come next week, said 700 discount will be sent over via email adding in details for lifetime warranty/no labor/materials/call fees * May 2: emailed saying we havenot heard yet if windows are in and sent edits for contract to Alen. Told company windows need installed by Monday as leaving out of country. Alen called and said windows came in an hour ago and tentatively lined up Saturday for installation. Alen will call back when confirmed. * May 3. Alen called back said waiting to hear from Rick (installer) but should be on for Saturday and he will send new contract. Rick called later that afternoon and said that it is supposed to rain Sat / Monday and will watch the weather and if clear will install. Explained leaving country on cruise vacation and needs in asap for inspector so we can move forward with finishing our addition. I did not decide on contracting the company for my roofing and siding projects as I found another company with the same materials used and did the job for less then this company quoted. I decided in May 2025 to go with this company for my window project that included 13 double hinged windows and 1 picture window. After signing the contract, I was informed that I would be receiving a contact over the weekend for a foreman to come out and do official window measurements for the ordering of the windows. I was called on Wednesday of the following week by a gentleman only to say " I am 20 minutes out from you." I didnt understand how he decided to just impose and not make contact prior to set up an appointment as I was told was to happen. This was the beginning of red flags. However, we made it work out as I work and was not available for this impromptu measuring. On June 12, 2025 I was phoned to alert of my windows were coming in and to set up installation appointment. I settled for June 16, 2025 starting at 8am, if weather permits. I took off of work and had all window blinds/ covering down and furniture moved 2 ft away from windows as instructed; this was a lot of work. On 6/16/25 at approximately 945ish am I received a call from a female whom informed me that the installation had to be cancelled for the date as its raining. My issue with this situation was that the company (humans) knew that it was going to rain in the beginning couple hours of the morning and could have cancelled over the weekend to be considerate of my time and not have me sitting around the house using leave from work unnecessarily; the weather forecast is online. In addition, I had to get the window coverings put back up for security and privacy. The installation occurred on 6/24/25. The company had a crew that came out whom seemed okay. I had to request that they use foot coverings; this should be a requirement and something I did not need to ask. They started upstairs in the bedrooms. They placed covering on the beds. However while working they placed tools and water bottles on my wood furniture, which was a NO NO. I didnt understand the lack of respect for my property. The crew removed old windows that were put in when the house was built 30 years ago. As they installed I noticed the windows had about a 2-3 in gap all around. That was quite alarming if the windows were measured correctly. They sprayed foam as I was explained in the gaps but NEVER pur window flashing up as I was told they would. They put caulk up only. The caulking was very messing and large amounts on my newly replaced siding. Thet also cracked the siding on the rear by the light fixture. By using the ladder and thumping it harshly up against the house; assuming it was too heavy for onw person to move creating the behavior. With that created divets in my composite front bump out with ladder prints from the cross bar type thing attached to the ladder on multiple areas. Also they didnt clean up their mess. I called after they finishes to alert of issues. It took me a couple times and then I got one of the workers that came out. Then the owner. I was not too pleased with the owner as he rushed and overspoke me as ig I dont know what to look for and wasnt very pleasant and condescending. After speaking with the owner he came out tje following Monday. And later that afternoon it rained and water poured from the front bumpout kitchen window. I called owner back on facetime so he could see the activity. The owner came out the nexr day with the crew. He walked around and said the wimdow job looks nice but never addressed my window flashing issue. However the leaking window was due to the seals around the composite bump out beinh pushed and detached; consistent with the ladder pressing on it as stated prior. The crew damaged the window metal frame and caulked it in the living room. It was never corrected or fixed. It was brought to the owners attention as well. The crew resealed the areas. The messy caulk on the back and siding, the crew actually cleaned it up the day of the window installation. The crew left dirty hand prints on my white bedroom dresser and on the walls bear bedroom front window. The crew cut out areas of my window ledge and caulked over it and it was never correctes after bringing it to owners attention. Also all stickers and hand prints were left on windows. This should have been cleaned up. The crew did not clean up their mess as I was promised. Because of my experience with the seemingly condescending attitude and over and quick talking I will not be able to give a rating higher then a 3.

I hired Liberty Windows & Siding for a large exterior renovation project that included siding,…read morewindows, doors, gutters, and a portico. I selected Liberty largely based on representations that the work would be performed by in-house crews rather than subcontractors, and that quality workmanship was a priority. Unfortunately, the project did not meet those expectations. The initial installation resulted in widespread workmanship deficiencies, including improper siding installation, flashing issues, trim defects, and other items later documented by both an independent inspector and a manufacturer representative. As a result, Liberty had to remove and reinstall significant portions of the work. While Liberty ultimately undertook remediation, the process was prolonged, difficult to manage, and required extensive homeowner oversight. Remediation details were not consistently documented in writing, work was at times scheduled or attempted without prior coordination, and key quality-control steps, such as clear verification milestones and final walkthrough procedures, had to be repeatedly requested. Even after remediation, there were disputes regarding scope reductions, credits, and whether the project could be considered complete without a formal walkthrough and customer acceptance. I incurred additional out-of-pocket costs for independent inspections, legal consultation, and missed work time in order to reach an acceptable outcome. In fairness, Liberty did return to address issues and did not walk away from the project. However, the overall experience fell far short of what I would expect for a premium-priced renovation. Homeowners considering Liberty should be prepared to document everything carefully, confirm who will perform the work, and ensure that all remediation and close-out terms are clearly defined in writing before proceeding.
