The left patio door does not glide smoothly and is difficult to open and close. The left hand door screen arrived damaged. The only electrical outlet in the back yard they installed is not working. I give US Energy 2 stars for the job they have done thus far, but since John has become unresponsive and non-communitive for the last 6 months that is all that is warranted. If they want a better review all John has to do is follow up and do what he promised to do.

After the crew left, I noticed drywall damage, sealant contacting finished surfaces, debris inside and out, a damaged sprinkler head where materials were staged, and cigarette butts in the yard. Some items were addressed later; others required additional time and expense. The patio door also required adjustment and still does not open and close cleanly. I was told the next step may involve shaving material off the door -- an example of how fixes can escalate once installation is complete. My primary concern for the bedroom patio door was security and sound. Based on that, I was advised to go with triple pane. Living with the result, sound performance has not met my expectations. Laminated glass, which was not discussed during sales, is generally considered superior for both sound and security. After raising concerns, I learned the manufacturer does not publish specific sound performance ratings for its door assemblies. The recommendation appears to have been based on industry convention rather than product-specific testing. When I revisited the issue, the recommendation was affirmed and third-party solutions were suggested. When performance isn't clearly tested or measured, it becomes difficult to know whether the product was the best fit -- or whether the outcome simply falls short. I found D&J Iron Doors online and noticed they had beautiful Iron doors . I stop by and showed them pictures which they had me to email the pics and measurements up of my old door. They had a new door that I liked in stock. They sent me a turnkey quote that included everything involved with the install including trim and paint. It started raining so they weren't able to finish the same day but they made sure the new door was installed and sealed up from the elements. The new door was about 2 inches narrower than the existing so it involved extra framing. The installers came back the next day with wider than normal trim to adjust for the narrower door. They went above and beyond to make everything perfect. I highly recommend Johnny @ D&J Builders Surplus Iron Doors and their installers! The new door is way better made. It took weeks to set up a service call to repair the repair. As the day aproached a dear friend died. We tried several times a day to reach someone to reschedule - no luck. Left lots of messages. They called in the middle of the funeral wanting to know why no one was home. The service tech patched on place on the door - the most obvious one and didn't repair the other places. More weeks to set up another service call. Sure enough an other person milestone ended up on the day. So, the wife stayed home and missed the event. No one showed up. No one called to say they couldn't make it. Just left her there all day when she really wanted to be at the event. There is literally nothing that would let us recommend this company.
