However, the living room looks horrible! The baseboards aren't evenly cut - adjoining pieces are too high/low and some stick out further than others. Also, in some instances, the wood starts tight to walls then spread out as it goes along. In addition, Erick cut half-moon holes in two of the baseboards to adjust for transitions. When I noticed and verbalized that I was not happy with this and needed a straight line across the baseboards, Eric said it had to be done this way. I did not know any better until learning later that transitions are placed against baseboards and not underneath. I was the only one home at the time the work was being done. Upon discussing my dissatisfaction with Erick, he refused to make this right without being paid the same fee as the original for returning. I stated a willingness to purchase new wood and requested that Erick correct his work; and he maintained refusal unless being compensated fully. We're disappointed by the improper installation and sloppy work; and Erick taking advantage of me (middle-aged female). We now have to find another individual/company to redo the work, which means more money and time. What a nightmare!!!

The supervisor called me back and set an appointment. After waiting for 2 hours after the appointment time, I called them back. Turns out, they had tried ringing my doorbell - the same thing I was having the issue with not working - and they left. After I called the main office, the supervisor (Gerardo) called me back. He tried to reschedule me for a week later! After some dialogue he agreed to come back later that day. When I reminded him of everything that else we had talked about that needed to be installed, he told me that they didn't do Nest thermostats. Why didn't he tell me that in the first place?!? I never would have made the original appointment had I known that. Just an awful, awful experience.

UWC's web site is unusually helpful in researching your options, whether you go with UWC or not. In addition, there's a you tube video with Mike beating up various brands of shutters and showing how easily some brands fall apart. With that information, I got a few bids on painted wood shutters. Every bid company, including UWC, showed up on time and was nice (except one weirdo who got a yelp review that's as special as she was). For my project, I found these painted wood shutters to be similar in quality to Hunter Douglas, but 2/3 the cost. Great communications. Once we decided to go with UWC, we were told how long it would be and got an email verifying our order with pictures (easier to visualize). Everything went smoothly; I can't say flawless, but I can say smooth. Half up front and half when the guy came and installed them.

I contacted Roger Torres on to inquire about a unit from them…read more He asked me about the issue I was having with my actual unit, and he convinced me that the unit I have was good and with a TXV valve the issue would be fixed. He came over my rental property and the unit I had was cooling down at 74 degrees before they came, when they left, and then the house went all over 82 degrees. I called him to let him know about this issue and now he wanted to sell me a new unit. I told the unit I have was under warranty and I didn't need a new unit. I asked him to please come back and fix it because it is a rental house and the tenant has children and the unit now was at 82 degrees. He didn't want to come back but finally he came back around 8 pm They were filling the unit with freon that apparently was the issue, I think they didn't put back the freon the unit had before they changed the TXV valve. The tank of freon they had ran out and he asked to his parter to bring the other tank of freon, but the guy said he didn't bring the other tank. So, they didn't finish the work, but they were supposed to come back to check the unit another day. He told me that we need to wait around two days to see how the unit react. Today I called him informing that the unit is not turning off, I asked to please come and put the rest of the freon, but he refused to do it. I paid him $480.00 to change the TXV valve and he didn't want to come back he doesn't want to respond for his work. I told him that saw when they were shaking the tank because was empty and asked his partner for the other freon tank and the partner said that he didn't bring it. They supposed to come back and check the unit, pressure, and work and add the freon, but he didn't want to come. He doesn't respond for his work, and they just took my money. He doesn't warranty his work; he just took my money and left the work unfinished. Very dishonest guy. He is nice until he takes your money after that he doesn't respond for his work. This company is a complete rip off.
