Although Winco officially means Washington, Idaho, Nevada, Colorado, and Oregon; the way I see it Winco means "Winning." At 90,0000 square feet, the Henderson Winco has been winning at pricing and selection since they opened on March 4, 2012. In contrast to local supermarket chains including Walmart Neighborhood Market, Albertson's, and Smith's; Winco does not saturate the market. In Las Vegas there are currently only three WinCo's. With that being the case, I don't visit as much as I would like to. I am impressed by the prices. WinCo's strategy is to keep costs down by passing over advertising and not accepting credit cards to avoid the merchant processing fees. Additionally there is no pharmacy which keeps the overhead down. I feel that the lack of advertising makes Winco unique and creates this mystique. Without advertising telling me what to think about the business, my mind has its own marketing about the supermarket. It kind of reminds me of a 1970s supermarket. The exterior and logo remind me of the long defunct Woolco Department Store. It is a clean brightly lit store with what I consider a modernized version of a 1970s store. I say this in a good way. When I enter the store through The Wall of Savings I am greeted with a brightly lit and clean store surrounded by deals. It is the antithesis of a dingy and cluttered discount supermarket. Throughout the store the shopping experience is great. In the heart of the store, the top shelf is roughly equivalent to the top of my head. This alleviates the situation of having to struggle to reach for something on the top shelf. From shopping here, I noticed something missing in action. That is lock up cases. I did not see one lock up case. That includes health and beauty aids. I am impressed with their selection. They carry brands that I have not seen at other local supermarkets. This includes Shasta soda. My Winco tradition has been to pay 50 cents for a can of Shasta soda at the vestibule. My go-to item at Winco has been the Tastee Choice frozen shrimp dinners. They are delicious , filling, and cost around $4. Throughout the outstanding selection permeates through the fresh areas, the bulk candy, bakery, and aisles throughout the store. The one thing that Winco can improve on is the check out process. It is normal to only have a few lanes open at a time. There could be a wait. To the left of the full-serve checkouts there are a few self checkout terminals. Additionally, although I don't mind, customers have to bag their own orders. As stated earlier, to pass down the savings, Winco does not accept credit cards. The way I see it, Winco means "Winning." When it comes to finding a great selection and prices, I win when I shop at Winco. read more

Date of visit: July 11, 2026 When I first saw this store, I thought it was part of Winn-Dixie, and it wasn't until later that I found it it's not related to that other chain at all and is essentially the Western version of Woodman's a chain we have back in the Milwaukee area. Unlike Woodman's, WinCo was calm and not overcrowded, whereas Woodman's is like Black Friday every day. I appreciated that slower pace and the large selection of items across the store. Though some of the deals shown in the aisle as you enter are misleading: I was looking for Raspberry Arizona ice tea, on sale for an amazing 68 cents per can. But that wasn't displayed at all, giving me the impression that they didn't carry the flavor. But later I stumbled across it in the soft drink aisle. Employees were visible but not interacting with the shoppers at all, disappointing as I would have expected the "employee owned" aspect to come through in the customer service. Speaking of service, Jalapen my cashier was very friendly, partially making up for the lack of acknowledgement during the rest of the visit. I was a bit concerned about cleanliness at the store, the conveyor belt at the register was old and either dirty, stained, or both. The dividers to separate customer orders were also gross. While there some good deals to be had, I'm not likely to drive out to WinCo when there are closer and cleaner stores to be found in Vegas. read more

We kept hearing about WinCo and finally decided to check it out. It's huge and well stocked! Lots of items are cheaper than the regular grocery stores. It was very clean and great lighting. It wasn't hard to get help finding items. The check out line wasn't long and moved quickly. Plenty of parking too. It's open 24 hours! We will definitely go back to do more shopping! read more

We recently moved to Green Valley, about five minutes away from Winco. When we lived in Idaho. It's the only place we shopped. A lot of their prices are lower or the same as WM so it only makes sense to shop at WM since they offer pick up or if you shop in store, they bag your groceries. However Winco is my go-to for fresh telera rolls for work sandwiches and bulk calrose rice and their produce and fruits are also cheaper and they have a better variety. Their bakery department is also better quality and a bit cheaper. If you love to make your own poke bowls or poke, they sell frozen, already cubed ahi tuna for under five bucks a package. It's also best to shop here after 6pm as it can be pretty crowded before then. read more

Food... Bakery is great. Most shelved items are not over priced. Stay away from hamburger unless you like large chunks of gristle in it. Also it doesn't taste or smell like real meat. For the most part it's a decent store, just watch out for rude employees like Rhonda. After 8 pm they redirect shoppers to cutting through register isles to enter store...but if you miss the poorly written sign specifying which isles are okay, she'll scream and belittle you instead of common courtesy...saying something instead like I'm sorry, not this isle. Good grief.., retraining stat!!! Ambiance is fine. It's a food store. Could use better signage but at least it doesn't smell weird. read more

I shop at Albertsons, but I decided to checkout WinCo. Everyone in my family have officially severed ties with Smith's due to their price gouging on their groceries and they now shop at WinCo and sometimes Trader Joe's. They suggested that I start shopping here and it's been on my list of grocery stores to visit for a couple of years since I left Smith's myself. The Albertsons I'm a regular at is currently under a massive head-to-toe renovation, and walking out of there one day, I was like, you know what, let's take a shot at WinCo and see what goes from there. They are open 24 hours! After COVID, many grocery stores in town stopped operating 24/7 permanently, but WinCo did not do that. So, say if I want to do a midnight grocery shopping run at random, I will come here. An important thing to remember is that they only take cash and debit cards. No credit cards of any kind will be accepted. Another important thing to remember is that they have no baggers here, you must bag your groceries on your own (tip: bring your reusable bags from home!). Located just off Stephanie and the 215, they are incredibly easy to access. I was recently diagnosed with a vitamin D deficiency (I would be more than happy to get more sun in, but it's just too hot and too windy to sit outside these days), so my first visit to WinCo consisted of buying foods and drinks that are rich in vitamins, such as orange juice and fish. I also recently bought a new blender and wanted to make my own mango smoothie, so I picked up some frozen mango chunks, a small bottle of milk, and a bottle of mango nectar. Oh yeah, and I saw a pallet of moon pies, which I've never had before, so I got a box of those too. ;) The checkout lines here are very unique than other grocery stores I've been to. They have two lanes where you bag your items; lane A and lane B. This is to speed up the lines a bit because they can get really long, really quickly, especially during peak hours of the day. I considered WinCo being my temporary grocery store while Albertsons is being renovated, but now I feel like I can never go back to Albertsons after shopping at WinCo. It's about a 2 mile drive from my house, but it's totally worth it. read more

For over 8 years I go to this Winco, many team members are like friends, they don't change, which is great and says a lot about company. Overall great experience over all this years. So this review is for that 1 particular time when I got few molded vegetables and rotten meat (yep, opened package and smell of that still lingers in my memories). In case anyone likes to buy chuck bone in for soups- don't buy it. Fruits and veggies, same thing, check before you get home. Got a package of cucumbers and they were moldy, bell peppers were wilted and moldy inside. Hope my next review will be 5 stars. I'm surprised I've never done a review for WinCo. This place was a refuge for me during the pandemic and I've been coming in since it opened. I'll admit that I don't come here a lot anymore, not because this isn't a good place to shop but because I like to use a particular credit card when I buy anything (points, baby!) and WinCo doesn't take credit. I like the pricing here but it's fairly comparable to other grocery stores. There are a lot of items to choose from, including brands you might not see a lot of any more. I didn't used to be a huge fan of the produce but when I came in this last time, there was a lot more variety and the freshness quality was higher. I love the bulk items. The meat section also seems to have more variety and harder to find cuts of meat. The bakery section is pretty darn good now too. I like the way the aisles are set up, I find this place easy to navigate. It's also pretty clean, with employees cleaning and stocking regularly. read more

WinCo isn't my favorite place to shop. There's a strange odor when you walk in ...not overwhelming, but noticeable. The store is massive, which makes it hard for me to find what I need. That's more my personal preference, though. That said, the value here is excellent. Prices are lower than any other grocery store I've been to in Vegas. While some items reflect the lower cost in terms of quality, overall it's a great place to stretch your dollar. They also carry some surprising brands and unique products you wouldn't find at typical supermarkets. There's a lovely woman who works late evenings , usually around 10 or 11 PM. We once realized we share the same birthday, and she's always warm and kind. On a recent visit, I saw a group of teens causing a scene at the checkout. Security stepped in quickly, which made me feel safer. I later learned they were refusing to return stolen Kool-Aid and were yelling and cursing at her. Despite being clearly shaken, she handled it with calm and professionalism. I spoke with her briefly to offer support and tried to make her laugh before I left. She absolutely deserves a raise for dealing with that kind of behavior so gracefully. Bathrooms are generally clean, and I appreciate the variety of unusual items they stock. All in all, while WinCo isn't my usual stop, I'll keep coming by now and then after work...especially knowing the staff and security are solid. read more

We were in the area with some time to kill so we thought we could get some shopping done. We hadn't been in Winco since shortly after it first opened years ago. No problem getting a good spot in the parking lot on a Tuesday at 10 AM. The store was pretty empty at that hour. The store is HUGE with lots of selections for each of the items we were looking for. The aisles were clean with lots of people working keeping the shelves full. And the employees were very helpful in telling us where to find the items we were looking for. The only relative negative was finding out at the cashier that they only take debit cards or cash - no credit cards. read more

This week, I went but their prices went up sky high in a single week. The price of bulk goods are so high, it is no longer attractive to come here, better go to the other supermarkets. tell me how this makes sense I purchased a 14.99 flower pot at grocery outlet, I returned the flower pot and picked up a 24.99 flower pot instead of giving me the cash back they applied the 14.99 to the 24.99 flower pot so I only have to give an additional $10.83. I to return the 24.99 flower pot as the color was off and not what I needed and they only give me back $10.83 saying that's what I paid for the 24.99 flower pot the said he was the manager and that he called the owner and she agreed how is this right? The only 24 hour grocery store these days. The convenience is wonderful. One of 3 places I can find my favorite ice cream sandwiches out of San Francisco and Huckleberry ice cream. Great Bulk prices for many items and the least expensive monk-fruit sweetener! Prices are much better than Smiths, Albertsons or Walmart super centers. The deli is good. Isles are normally pretty clear till the overnight crew then pallets everywhere but they don't block any of the products. The fresh produce is excellent. Seasonal items are pretty cool as well. Please bring your own bags to make it easier to bag your items. The plastic bags are a pain. read more

The only 24 hour retail store in Henderson is the illustrious Winco Foods. Honestly, single biggest selling point of Winco is that they are 24 hours. When Walmart decided to end their 24 hour store schedule, Winco became the last bastio. Of 24 hour retailing. Yes, of course this is Las Vegas, and all the casinos are open 24 hours but that's irrelevant. When is 3am and I'm bored and don't want to hit up the usual Dennys or ihop debate with my kids, we go to Winco. Their bulk foods area is a throwback and fun to shop in. The fact that we bag our own groceries adds a bit of fun activity. Also they carry Shasta kiwi strawberry soda. Sure it's chemically man made syrup that contains ZERO fruit juice, but it's an admitted guilty pleasure. The huge wall of values is usually closed after 10 because of restocking. The employees all seem like they work hard. One really annoying thing about shopping there late night is the damn store phone blasts its ringer LOUD through the store PA. And they usually don't answer until like 7-8 rings. It's literally ear blowing. Winco beats all other grocery stores in town between the hours of 11pm and 6am. simply because it's 24 hours. Once Walmart closes at 11, it's either 7/11 or Winco for grocery needs. Yikes. It's a very large store, but other than late night, I'd stick to Walmart. read more

Rosalyn is one of my favorite cashiers! She is super nice & friendly. She always recognizes me & says "hi" to me when she see's me in line. She always asks me how I am & how things are going. She remembers things that I have told her on my last visit like one time I told her I was going home (out of state) to visit my Mom. Next time I saw her she remember my trip & asked me how it went & how my Mom was doing. So sweet! There is another female cashier who is very nice & friendly too and always chats with me while she is checking my groceries out. I forgot her name. I love that their water refill is the cheapest of what I have found in town. 35 cents for 1 gallon & the water tastes great. I love their jalapeño & cheese bagels. Some items I find cheaper compared to Walmart. As with any other grocery store I hate when I'm there & they're stocking the shelves because it's a pain to get down the aisles. I love their bins of candy, nuts & other stuff you can control the portion sizes. They have great produce & fruit selections. I had one of their frozen pizza brand which was good & their French bread pizzas. My friend who I got them for likes them too! I don't like their hamburger meat so therefore I don't buy their meats. I cooked up some hamburger from there one night & it was full of something? Maybe fat? Was a bunch of white chunky stuff...gross! My favorite time to shop there is early AM after work (7:45-8am) & late, late @ nights as it's less crowded. They have the best price on their brand of soda water & sell it in 12 packs. My go to place for soda water! I do noticed that after holiday sales their discounted prices are horrible, they barely take any money off of them. read more

I called to talk to someone in the bulk food department. I was transferred and the phone rang and rang and rang. We were driving so I had time. The phone ring tones changed and sounded like it rerouted back to operator. Also sounded like we were put on hold several times. The person who finally answered (Henderson store) just answered "hello" So I said I was trying to reach the bulk department. She said what do you want. So I said, this must be the bilk department then. I was checking to see if you had (a certain type of candy). She said what kind do you want. I repeated the candy again. She started bring even ruder so my husband explained that we were looking for 5 pound bags etc. I have to say she was coarse, rude and ignorant. She does not represent this company in a very good way. Summerlin has much better service so we went there. read more

It seems some people only go to Yelp to complain. I go to this store about twice weekly. It's clean, very well stocked, prices are typically lower than competitors, sometimes much lower and they illustrate that with signage. Ice cream is consistently less expensive here, Blue Bunny is $3.99 at this writing. They have a good selection of meat and chicken. The staff is friendly and helpful whenever you ask. I'm a happy customer. I'd rather shop here than Smiths or Wal-Mart. read more

Prices are great but not much else. For an employee owned store, one would think all aspects would be top notch. WRONG I've never seen such a group of lazy employees or maybe it's a terrible manager. The parking lot 1/2 the time is an obstacle course. Now granted that is due to their lazy customers not having the fitness level to walk the extra 20 feet to put their cart back.......but, how hard is it to have a few peeps outside doing round the clock cart retrieval. Sometimes at night there isn't a shopping cart in the store cause no one went outside to gather there entire fleet in the parking lot. Just finished my monthly visit to WinCo and I'm very sad to say the world's worst ever checker was working this evening! I'm guessing that she has to be related to someone very high up in the company is the only way she still has a job there ! First time I've ever had an employee make me feel like shit for forgetting codes on the bulk bags. Like lady, aside from being rude af and rolling your eyes at me it's YOUR JOB to know these codes. It reminded me of how much you can really save on great produce, bulk goods and lots of center isle stuff. I love this place Ive been going here off and on for a decade, its worth the drive from Boulder City to save over half on groceries. I filled up my cart to the top and bottom carriage too with towels and drinks, it came to less than $300 instead of what would normally be like 7-800 at a regular store. Service was fantastic from the senior lady in the afternoon with the shaved head and glasses very nice. She was so fast I couldnt believe it. I have always liked bagging my own groceries too. This place is a major money saver. I stopped going to my local grocery store its outrageous, I spent $300 there last week and I feel like all I got was like 8 things lol. read more

I have lived in Las Vegas for nearly 6 years and came here for the first time today, and wow, was I impressed. Huge selection of literally anything. I was especially impressed with the self-serve stations, produce, and meat dept. I usually do my grocery shopping at Walmart or Albertsons, but never again. It's quite a bit cheaper at WinCo! Also, every worker I encountered was very helpful and polite. The store was pretty clean and plenty of room in the isles so people could maneuver their carts easily. Checkout was a bit congested, but I didn't mind waiting because I knew I was saving a lot by shopping here. I brought my own reusable bags but ran out and was pleased to find paper bags at checkout! This review is not for the one on Stephanie, but for the one that's on Decatur I could not find that one so I'm just going to leave it here. I purchased a 10 lb bag of potatoes I got them home and they stunk so bad I took them out of the pantry put them on the counter for a few minutes to make sure it wasn't nothing else that was smelling like that. And it was the potatoes they start smelling worse I had to take the whole bag and put them in the trash. I contacted corporate to let them know that you're selling bad food just so they could remove it so no one ends up getting sick. They contact me back basically saying there's nothing they can do about it which I thought was strange so I just want to warn people be careful check the produce before you purchase if it smells strange leave it. When in Henderson NV, appreciated that WinCo Foods was open 24/7 so that I could pick up water, snacks and other supplies for our basketball tourney. By the time our last game ended, all grocery stores were closed except WinCo. I was surprised by their no credit card policy, only cash and debit cards, but I understand why with the charge % credit card companies take per transaction.
