Smart & Final is a great store for anyone wanting to buy bigger portions of food or anything for the family or even their small business. My recent experience is a little bit underwhelming because I needed to download the store app to get the discount on the items I wanted to purchase. It took a while to download the app, then create an account, login, logout, login ... on and off and again on and off. I got to the point when I had enough and wanted to leave the store. Eventually a store employee came over and helped me out. Thank you for being considerate! I truly appreciate the kind support. At the end, I was able to get everything I needed and get the discount what was advertised. Today, while hastily running errands, I stopped into Smart & Final for baking supplies. While shopping, I realized I could also grab a gift card for a birthday gift and save myself another stop in an already busy parking lot. I finished shopping and jumped in line where I had such a wonderful experience with Vickie at the register. We had a great conversation and even discussed the denomination I should add to the gift card I was purchasing. She handed me the card after the transaction, and I unknowingly set it next to the card machine, completed my purchase, and walked out -- leaving the gift card behind. A few hours later, while putting the birthday gift together at home, I realized the gift card was missing. I searched my purchases, my car, and retraced everything before finally calling the store as a last-ditch effort. To my complete shock and amazement, Vickie had safely held onto the gift card and absolutely saved the birthday! Without a doubt, she went out of her way to make sure everything worked out for me. Quick stop here for few lasagna ingredients. Prices were really good and lots of sales. I found fresh cilantro and rosemary plants that I have been looking everywhere. They looked really good. Not too many people on the floor, they were working, not so much acknowledgement but when making eye contact, friendly. Cashier was very attentive and nice. Went to purchase frying oil today.... I bought the 35 lb fist street brand... wen5 to check out. There was a customer ahead of me. So I went to put the box of oil on the belt, to help out the cashier and make it easier on her.... her name was Fran.. you would have thought the world was about to end when I did that... Fran shook her head at me and said no no no don't put that on the belt.ll she scolded me like a child... which was pretty embarassing.... mind you the oil was already on the belt. I get the fact there are homeless people that clog the toilets,But when you have a customer that visits the store 2-3 times a week,sometimes a day. I purchased 125.00 in groceries today,I asked the an employee( guy up front that looks like he is a jerk) if I could use the restroom,He said that they work fine,But they are closed and only for employees.Witch is a lie,cause I've used this same restroom 2 times in last year for sure. I told him thy that doesn't seem right and could determine if I come back,he looked at me and said Bye! Friendly cashiers and clean store. Now I go once a month just to see what's new. Tip: They also stock some hard to find items. It was my turn for the Smart and Final monthly run for the office and I absolutely love doing this.This is not the usual store that we conduct our monthly business shopping, but they had in stock the large foam plates and cups that we needed. While this location is smaller than our usual haunt it is just as impressive. The aisles are stocked full, beautiful flowers greet customers as they come through the door, and the produce department is so colorful. I phoned this store prior to my visit to ensure that they had what I needed in stock which was being held for my convenience. After making my way through the aisles and gathering the rest of the items the office needed I went to the register. The cashier was very pleasant and greeted each guest as they came through her line. When I got to the register she remembered that I had those items being held and brought them out to pay all together. Our business chose to use the Smart and Final corporate account which makes check out a breeze. Plus, all of the fantastic deals that they offer are wonderful. After the cashier rang up the order, I gave the card to the cashier. With check out done I was done with the monthly shopping. On the way to the car I was so happy that you the carts here are so large. The aisles too are very big too for easy maneuvering through them. When panic buying was in full swing due to this Rona nonsense, I got a tip that Smart & Final was stocked with essentials. So of course, off I went to see what I could find during all the chaos. I could not find a cart to save my life, so I knew this was going to be a limited trip. Some shelves were pretty bare, but I was able to get what I needed. I was surprised and actually super proud of myself for the amount of things I managed to carry. I was able to score a 10 lb. bag of potatoes, 4 packs of meat/chicken, a box of 100 k-cups, condiments, gallon of milk and a bottle of vodka. Mind you, I carried all of this by hand through the store. Multiple employees saw my hands full but no one offered any assistance. The cashier lines were long, for obvious reasons since everyone was trying to stock up. I looked at what other people were purchasing and saw they had cases of water and toilet paper, which was a huge deal at the time. When it was my turn to pay, the cashier was even shocked I was able to carry all my items without a cart. They really do need to get more carts because everyone had their groceries on the ground while waiting to pay, gross btw. Prices were a tad higher than what I was used to, since I'm a huge coupon/savings freak. But during that time, I was just trying to get what I needed. Now that other stores are going back to normal and people aren't panic buying anymore, I'll just shop elsewhere. But good to know that Smart & Final is a back-up. read more

They were friendly when I walked in this looking for a cold drink. It was funny cause I asked where they cold drinks were and she pointed to a freezer full of beer lol... The decor was very industrial... Flat grey cement floors an unfinished ceiling and the isles were kind of hard to navigate for a neighborhood grocery... But I think they are trying as they now over an online order and delivery option that would be great for families that don't want to spend an hour walking through a store right when you get off work so Kudos for that.. The store hours were perfect for what I was trying to accomplish. The interior is very easy to navigate. All of the shelves were very well organized. Everything was full and stocked. We have been shopping in this challenging, Covid19, time and run into some illogical and fearful situations. As S&F, for them to rewire, yes I did say require you to wear a mask to shop, is silly, to say the least. And since they are silly and full of fear, apparently, I am going to stay away from their store. I'd hate to think I am putting money in the pockets of illogical owners. Next thing you know, when flu season comes, they'll tell you to wear a mask. And when they find out that car wrecks kill people, they'll require you show your auto insurance card before entering. I have come to this store a few times when I've had larger catering or meal prep events. A lot of the items are sold in bulk, or at least that's what I think the best price points are. They have a lot of things in terms of paper plates, utensils, food containers, etc. these items are very well priced and with a huge selection & variety. I haven't purchased any alcohol or produce at this location, only because I have my other stores that are staples for those things. The produce section is a bit small and doesn't have a lot of the things I usually purchase, but that's OK. I will continue to come to the store to purchase canned foods like veggies, seasonings, olive oil, etc things in bulk. read more

I shopped here for an in-store movie ticket promo and then for an AMEX promo. The selection is OK, good prices on 24-32 packs of water, etc. Good prices on some K-Cups also. Kind of a mess at the registers each time, especially when I was buying gift cards. I was not motivated to return after those experiences but I did enjoy my half price gift cards in conjunction with the AMEX promotion. The older lady at the register hit the buzzer for me to come to her lane (lane4) @820am and asi approach she yells stop, you need to stand back!! I'm thinking to myself your the one who called me up. I let that go then she proceeds to turn on the belt and all my glass products begin to fall. I then ask for a box for said glass wear and she says no boxes. Mind you at this time in the morning there are several empty boxes because other staff members are stocking the aisles. What happened? There must be some very happy CEO of this company because they certainly know how to do things RIGHT! Before - You needed a member card, you needed to present it to check out or type your phone number, the layout of the store was odd, and difficult to navigate. It was just not inviting. Today - The store is totally redone. The flooring is so shiny and nice in a cement kinda way. All aisles are redone and in the same direction. Much easier to shop and go up and down. A bit wider too, so you are not "stuck" around other patrons. The selection is great, pricing is great and you no longer need your card! I say, check this place out for the basics that you need. This is a place that for your basic foods with preservatives like cereal, snacks, chips, all that stuff, it is great. They are a bit weak on produce and vegetables, but they have a decent selection. read more

Being price conscious and doing some comparison shopping is the key to having a good experience with Smart & Final's LV locations. If you read up on the origins of this chain of stores then you know what their strengths are: Bulk items. Need 5 lb bags of shredded cheese or a 1000 ct roll of deli wrapping paper? They have it. Want 3 gallon containers of Rocky Road ice cream? Yes, they have it (I looked at it but no I didn't buy it). To find the best deals in this store all you gotta do is typically look down at the bottom shelf and check out the bulk items. And if you're willing to put some trust in their house brand: First Street, you can save some serious $$$. Would I buy produce here? No, I don't think that the quality is as good as I can find elsewhere and their selection is kinda pathetic. I won't buy dairy here either as like someone else wrote, they keep some gallons of milk that are a little too close to the expiration date for my liking. Service: Well I only had to wait 2 minutes to check out, and the service was friendly and fast. The best advice I can give anyone is to walk the store once. Go in, scout it out, then go on and do your normal shopping. For me when I did that as I walked through Costco, Sams Club, Winco, and Vons I saw where Smart & Final's bulk buying could save me time and money on several things. Overall: 3 Stars...going to split this one right down the middle. (And one more thing. Smart & Final used to have stores in Denver but they had to leave Colorado due to a bad business plan. The Vegas stores are what they should have rolled out to Colorado, if they had done I suspect they would still be doing business there.) read more

Don't normally leave reviews one way or another, but I need share my experience. Came in without a mask on as I immediately greeted with screaming across the storefront, not to enter. I nicely tried to explain that I am a disabled veteran with a documented disability that holds me exempt per the governors own guided outline. The employee said it didn't matter and that I needed to leave, immediately. I came in with an item I needed to return for my wife and tried to explain that it's illegal to discriminate against a person with a health condition over which he has no control. Then the worker became hysterical and ripped the cart from my hands. She pulled my personal property from the cart and refused to give it back. I asked if she could please return my property I just walked in with and that it belonged to me and she was so upset over my unwillingness to wear a mask, she took it to the back and told me I was not getting it back. She then got her manager, name I won't disclose, but he had a shredder like mask. He immediately returned my property (thank you) but I was still met with a level of hostility. I explained discrimination laws and my exemption and he said none of that mattered. I told him I would not be leaving which, of course escalated to a lecture for me to read the ADA laws; that I didn't know anything and the manager calling the police to have me escorted from property. Sadly, I left before it reached that point. I don't think I am going to met there with open arms, anytime, in the near future. :-) read more

The store is clean and the staff is great, but the store is small. I give it two stars because the store's parking lot is HORRIBLE. It is so poorly kept and major potholes everywhere. The type of pot holes that could damage your tire or rims. Really a terrible way to treat your customers. I recommend Target and Sprouts. read more

I love this store, mainly because of price. Today, I bought 3 pallets of crystal geyser water, with 35 bottles a pallet, for only 5.99 each and they gave me one free. That comes out to like 11 cents a bottle. I've bought bags of salad lettuce for 50 cents a piece. I bought a few nice bags of asparagus for only 2.50 a piece. And the quality is pretty good. I don't use this store for all my grocery needs, but I try to hit them up every few weeks or so. read more

I wish I could rate them less than one. I like the store itself. But each visit I end up having the larger woman with white hair cashier. Rude is an understatement. Not just once but every time I've shopped there. Today they required masks. Ok, had to go back home and get one. Still ok. Then we see a couple without masks. I made an extra trip but still, whatever. Now watching her ring up this other unmasked couple and them joking, talking outside the plastic partition the large woman was jovial. No our turn, with masks on mind you, I go to put a bag in the cart and she barks at me to stay behind the partition. Really!! I mention the previous couple with no masks and outside the death square and she says, well we weren't paying attention. Now you pay attention just find when I'm there. With a F$&&? Mask on.
