I was only in Columbus for two days and made sure to stop by for both! This place is amazing! They offer soy, almond, and coconut milk substitutes for all of their drinks. Perfection! I got the Iced Karamel Kiss and it is great if you love sweet coffee read more

Winans Chocolates + Coffees - Iced Karamel Kiss! - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Columbus, Ohio

This is my first visit to Winan's. It's a small litte shop with a cozy and watm atmosphere. The girls are nice and the coffee is delicious. It was a bonus to me that one of their specialty drinks, a "Caramel Kiss" is my favorite go-to latte - vanilla and caramel. I'm a little sad I only discovered this place after the Christmas shopping season since I'm certain I would have included their candies and nuts in stockings for my family members! read more

Winan's has a great coffee and chocolate selection. I'm a huge fan of their Chai Tea Lattes and love stopping here for meetings. It's a welcoming environment, as well. I have been to the Yard location and downtown location - both have always been great experiences. I always bring Winan's chocolates and coffee home to my family out of state at the holidays and they love it, as well. Stop here for a caffeine, chocolate or wine fix! read more

Cool little place. The staff is really friendly and helpful. Their autumn-time coffee at this place is amazing including their hot cider drinks. They also have a great selection of chocolates and other types of candies. They have a couple of small tables for sitting at indoors and a couple of small tables outside as well. They even have dog water bowls outside if you are walking your pet and need a coffee/scone fix. The scones they had the day I went were really good. I'm not sure if they are made there or ordered in but it doesn't matter, they are still yummy. read more

My husband and I hang out in German Village nearly every weekend when we're in town. And Winans is our favorite coffee shop in the Village. The coffees are delicious, and they always offer new rotations of flavored drinks that change in response to the season. I usually drink black coffee but when I have wandered off the path to order a sweet drink, they haven't disappointed. Our favorite is the bourbon cherries at the chocolate counter. We each get one every single time! There isn't much seating but there usually is a free seat if you do want to sit to enjoy your treats. Also, Winans is right across from Schiller Park if you'd rather take your coffee on a stroll. The only bad experience we've ever had had to do with an employee who is very, very slow. We've seen her there several times, and she's gotten faster overtime, but when she is working it still is a much slower experience than you're used to at a coffee shop. read more

Delicious vanilla latte. Hope to be back soon. If you're a fan of good coffee, you will not regret stopping here. I now know to keep an eye out for this place because if I'm within a few miles, I'm stopping. Any locations in California?!? read more

We love Winan's! Not only do they have wonderful chocolate, but it is also a great place to have a delicious cup of coffee. Miss Clara's are my favorite--toffee dipped in either milk or dark chocolate. The truffles are amazing, when you can get them. They don't make them every day. If they did, I might be as big as a barn. read more

Winans Chocolates + Coffees - Prepackaged nummies! - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Columbus, Ohio

I stopped in recently after lunch, excited to try some of their chocolate. The store is small and very nicely decorated. It has a large selection of prepackaged chocolates and candies, and there are several tables for enjoying coffee and a treat. The staff was very friendly and took time to explain what they offered. I ordered some tea which was served in a nice big mug, and I tried several of their chocolates. I was a little disappointed in the selection. There really weren't too many different types, considering it is a chocolate shop. I had a caramel one and a couple others, and they were just ok. Nothing spectacular or up to European standards. I would definitely stop in again for a hot drink, but maybe not for the chocolates, read more

Just what I was looking for with the addition of chocolate! Quaint, sparkling clean shop with two friendly, smiling baristas. My Americano was a tad watery but the espresso flavor developed as I continued to sip. And they have an option of real mugs which I believe enhance coffee. The only change I would make is to nibble on one of their chocolates while sipping my coffee. My husband, a non coffee drinker, enjoyed their chocolate covered 4 berry smoothie. Decadent without being over-sweet. I tend to just drink coffee black but after enjoying our drinks at the shop and selecting some chocolates, I decided to splurge on Spicy Chai Latte with soy and espresso for our walk through nearby Schiller Park. It was a great choice with super flavor. More 'kick' than regular chai and their chai concentrate is dairy free. Husband grabbed a cinnamon-apple scone that was a little dry and less flavor than he was expecting. On the way home we sampled the chocolate. Melts in the mouth with the flavor shining through: chocolate. read more

I stop at Winans every Friday for coffee on my way to work. It's a great little coffee shop on 3rd and it's rarely busy on weekday mornings. The staff are always friendly and knowledgeable. My usual is a Winans blend but they offer other roasts too as well as fancy-shmancy espresso drinks. Winans also offers different types of chocolates. Last week I bought a bag of "Wetzels" which are just chocolate covered pretzels. They were around $6 for the bag. So probably about average for a chocolate shop. A small coffee is around $1.95 so also about average for any boutique coffee shop. They offer re-usable sleeves and will reward you if you re-use it 10 times with a free coffee! So saving the environment whilst also working towards a free coffee. What could be better than that? read more

Sweet chocolate aromas. Delicious flavored coffees. MANY sweet chocolate treats! Soft & quiet music covers. Not crowded. FREE WIFI with no time limit. Friendly staff with wonderful recommendations! read more

We were about to hit the highway home after spending the weekend in Columbus, and I had to find a place to get my wife some buckeyes! We found this place and it was perfect. In the German Neighborhood, they had lots of chocolates, truffles, bunnies, eggs, gummies, barks, and MORE!! They even had a wall of coffees that smelled divine. The buckeyes we got here were tons better than the ones I bought earlier in the Capitol gift shop. If you are in Columbus and looking for good sweets or a quaint place to read or work from a laptop, look no further than Winans! You will not be disappointed. read more

Winans Chocolates + Coffees - Nice place to come and get some work done - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Columbus, Ohio

This is my favorite dessert stop in Columbus. They have so many varieties and they are all amazing. Very low cost for such high quality too. It's a quiet cozy coffee shop as well. The staff is always friendly and helpful. read more

Winans Chocolates + Coffees - There isn't a chocolate here that isn't delicious. Very inexpensive for the quality too. - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Columbus, Ohio

The staff is always friendly and engages with each customer. The variety of coffee drinks rivals any coffee shop and the make a delightful spicy chai latte (if you want it spicier your typical chai, just ask them). I also love they have started carrying some muffins and bread items (gluten-free too!), so I can just swing by in the morning and head off to work with good food, coffee and a happy experience to start my day. Of course, the chocolates are a great treat too, but don't ignore their coffee, it's really good. read more

Fantastic Cafe au lait with almond milk! Adorable shop, sadly I was there so early in the morning the idea of chocolate didnt appeal to me, but they were so beautiful. Will definitely go back and try them! read more

Love the coffee itself but customer service needs some work. Have been to this location a few times but the last time honestly might make me choose somewhere else just from 2 of the employees disagreeing if my boyfriends coffee was made with oat milk or not (sounds silly) because it honestly is...you can't just make mine prior to his and them having obvious differences with color and taste first off. Then to not be greeted while walking in and making other customers feel uncomfortable as well, just not professional and disappointed in this location honestly. And I usually do not make reviews but here we are, hoping others experience is better and they treat their buying customers with more respect! read more

First of all, YUM. Like seriously, YUM. I got a few different little things and every single one was delicious. The cookie dough bite situation was TO DIE FOR. The cashew and almond 'wurtles' melted in my mouth. To top it off, the chick that worked there was super nice and recommended a chai-cider... omg.. I'll be back every day for a week for one. SO GOOD. GO GET ONE FOR YOURSELF ASAP. read more

I'm biased, very biased. I love Winans Winan's is my go to coffee and chocolate, doesn't hurt that I'm at Schiller with the dogs all the time anyway. The staff is very knowledgeable, friendly, and nice. The chocolates are good, very good. The dark chocolate bourbon cherries are my favorite. I love that you can get almost everything in a dark chocolate version. They make their own chocolate at their home base in Chillicothe, they roast the beans there too. The coffee is not over roasted, rather it seems that they try very hard to bring out the sweetness in the bean, the flavor. I love that they have white chocolate dipped milk bones for the dogs- mine LOVE them. Overall its a great neighborhood coffee shop. Favorite drink: ask for an iced mocha made with the blueberry toddy. SO GOOD read more

The chocolate is fantastic. The coffee is not great. The cappuccino for example are quite 'old school', very foamy etc. Modern day Capps are more like a flat white or Small latte. A1 for the chocolate but again coffee needs to be more refined read more

It just doesn't get any better than Winans! I have been an avid fan for many years, since I used to live near their anchor shop in Piqua, OH. I was beyond thrilled to learn that they opened this shop in German Village and rushed right over to get my fix of coffee, chocolate and all that is Winan's! My favorites: Wurtles, Chocolate Covered Caramels, Opera Creams. Their peanutbutter fudge is to die for. =) Toasted Marshmallow Latte. When I enter any of their welcoming shops to sit and relax, I indulge in a chocolate or two to go along with their awesome cappuccino's... excellent quality of beans. Sometimes a baked good (scone, biscotti) because I know they are usually (maybe always, not sure) homemade. I've had quite a few of their specialty latte's and have never been dissapointed. Staff: They always have friendly and knowledgeable employees, which is truly appreciated as it is not always a given in most places. Gift Baskets: Amazing, creative and always a perfect gift. I'm still being thanked for the ones I've given! Thank you, Winans, for bringing your perfection to Columbus! read more

Very welcoming and a very sweet staff. I got four chocolates. A melt away which wasn't super sweet. Which is a good thing because i'm not into super sweet stuff. I had a mint melt away as well which the mint was very faint but still tasty. I had two others that were different than the other two. One was espresso cream and the other almond coconut cream. For me they were super sweet. I got the ones with the dark chocolate on the outside. But just because i think they're too sweet doesn't mean you will. My fiancé got a latte. He got the love spell latte. They do use the standard syrups. If i had gotten a latte id have probably gotten it plain or with a little mocha flavor. But as far as espresso and foam/heated milk. It was on point. Nice consistency. I definitely recommend this place. read more

3 stars for the coffee 4 stars for the chocolate and 5 stars for the service. We tried a cortado - espresso has a nice balance but isn't as complex in flavor as we'd like. Tried a couple specialty drinks - the buckeye (pb and choc) frappe and the snowman mocha (white choc + marshmallow) - coffee doesn't shine through very much in either drink but they are still unique offerings that aren't bad. The real highlight is the chocolate selection. Our favorites were the peanut butter chocolate ladybug, the double chocolate melt away and the white chocolate coconut. read more

Chocolates are not that good and they don't even serve hot chocolate that does not uses industrial syrup, the one thing I expect from a coffee shop with bast access to chocolate. read more

Visited while in town from Indianapolis. Got buckeyes and frappes. Both are to die for. Amazing little spot.

Double melt away chocolate melted my heart- so soft and flavorful, and not sweet. Must try!

The dark chocolate almond wurtles are too good to share. And the double americano is probably the best cup of coffee I've had.

Their coffee is just blindingly good. I don't understand how it's so good. Someone here really cares about their coffee--and I think it's the guy whose picture is on the wall. Kudos to you, sir. read more

All I gotta say is you need to order a Buckeye when you come to this chocolate store... out..of..this..world! If you are a person that can't decide which truffles you would like to try the workers are very helpful there and you can buy a box and create your own assortment. Solves the trouble! Not only is there chocolate great, they are very affordable for such high quality. read more

Today @ 10:45am on High St. I ordered 4 coffee's 2 chocolates. The lady that was working was very rude, unprofessional, and not helpful. This was my first time at this location but my work office visits this often to taste your tasty coffee's and chocolates. This lady pointed on the creamer and sugar station when I ask if she had certain cream an sugars. While helping me she wasn't helping me she helped the people behind me. Ask the lady behind me if she was a reward member...but not me. This lady just didn't want to help me and then made me wait to get creamer filled. Needless to say this was a horrible experience!! read more

Awesome coffee shop! I'm not a big coffee drinker so it great go to a place that has plenty of other options. Really Really Really good Chai Latte! There is no way you can come here with out getting chocolate!!! It was so good. All the toffee and the caramels were so good. Only reason I gave 4 stars is because it's kind of small and a little compact. I would definitely recommend! read more

Tonight was my first visit to Winan's, and it was wonderful. The chocolate was good (I had the toffee, salted caramel, and orange peel dark chocolates). The coffee was very good too. The service is very good as well - though my dad didn't seem to do so well. He's from the suburbs and not used to somewhat abrupt service. I thought the service was great. I like service that's not fake nice or super bubbly. She knew what the chocolates were and seemed to know about them as well. I will definitely be going back here for dessert at some point. read more
