How can you say no to chocolate, especially from Anthony- Thomas.  I went to pick up the gift box around lunch time.  Soon as I went to open the door, a woman was locking up the shop.  She was going to close the shop for a little while and go to the bank.  When I told her that I came to pick up the Elite gift box, she said she will go to the bank later and she let me in the shop.  She took her time to speak to me and help me pick other chocolates for my family members.  She did not rush what so ever.  There are so many chocolate options to pick from including gift boxes.  Great for the holidays!   If you are looking for sugar- free chocolate, this place has so many varieties, which I haven't seen in other places.   Yes the chocolates are a little pricey, but you get what you pay for.  These are very rich and delicious! read more

Such a cute little shop! I stopped in to visit this store as part of a Yelp event. I was not aware that this location existed. I was immediately greeted by a friendly employee who was very attentive to all of my questions! They have all of their holiday chocolates right up front for Christmas (this was my favorite part)! I received a candy bar (caramel) and a little box of chocolates for stopping in. The chocolate was delicious! My only complaint was that I did not know which chocolate was which, but I know they typically have a little sheet that tells you! I personally think it's fun to bite into a chocolate for a surprise! The counter was FULL of different chocolates as well. I will definitely be back for their Buckeyes and chocolate cherries. This little candy shop is perfect for anyone! Stopped in Anthony-Thomas in Bexley for the #ThankyouThursday experience and my son and I had a great time! From the moment you walk in the smells of chocolate and other sweets hit you and it's heaven! I picked up my YelpElite gift and then my son and I browsed for other goodies to purchase! I loved that they have a sign listing all of the gluten free options, all of the candy in the cases is labeled. The saleswoman was friendly and helpful, there are so many options to choose from, definitely something for everyone. There are some great gifts for family, friends and or coworkers and all are reasonably priced! There's even some options for anyone that doesn't like chocolate! Let's talk about CHOCOLATE. So there's a huge difference between the chocolate you buy at Kroger and the chocolate you buy here at Anthony Thomas. And then also the chocolate that you buy overseas, which is pheeeenomenal.. sigh but that's beside the point. I forgot how good chocolate was until I stepped foot in here. First off you need to get a chocolate bar just because you do. The melt in your mouth Divinity is second till none. They have dark chocolate that covers orange peels which is so yummy. They have Kristoff to help you and he is so yummy. They have crunchy chex chocolate but it's not really like the cereal because it's better and it's so good. But most of all the difference between the chocolate that you buy here and everywhere else. It's massive, it's insane, and it's worth every penny. And melts in your mouth there's not a nauseating after-taste, that we've become used to as Americans. (If you don't believe me, Google it) it is just so good 12/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND GO BUY SOMETHING NICE FOR SOMEONE YOU LOVE! read more

Yes, I've lived in Columbus for 10 years and never had Anthony Thomas. I had it all setup in my head: Old-school candy shop that's been around forever... this stuff is gonna be amazing... I just knew it. Maybe I set the bar too high? Don't get me wrong -- the shop is adorable, and the staff is very friendly. I just didn't love the candy. It was good, but not great. I bought some peanut butter cups, sea salt caramels, and pecan clusters. Everything was totally fine, but just a bit one note. I wanted a piano, but I got a trumpet. Just a matter of opinion. I'm sure if you grew up with Anthony Thomas, the nostalgia kicks in and it's five stars all the way. I just don't have any history here, so it doesn't really do anything for me. I'm not giving up on this place though... maybe there's something I haven't tried yet that will totally rock my socks. read more

Growing up, Anthony Thomas was always "The candy store." School candy sales, boxes for valentine's day, special occasions, and of course buckeyes all ran through their doors. These days, there's a lot more competition in Columbus, but sometimes you just want to go for nostalgia's sake. (And besides - the buckeyes are still pretty decent!) The Bexley location's staff were very friendly and helpful when I stopped in, and it's fun to walk down the cases of bulk and packaged candies to decide what will tickle your fancy. read more

My memories of Anthony-Thomas Candy goes all the way back to those wonderful elementary school candy sales. The top sellers got to take a trip to the factory to see all the yumminess rolling off the lines. If we were lucky, the wonderful staff there would let us pretend we were in I Love Lucy stuffing our faces with chocolate fresh off the belt! Fast forward to 2010. Each year my family hosts a Kentucky Derby party on our farm and of course you need party favors! The prize for 'Last Place Horse' NEEDED some chocolate accents and so off I went to the Anthony Thomas store to see if they had rose shaped chocolates. Yup. They did! I may have bought 2 packages. And already eaten one. While Anthony Thomas is not the best chocolate I've ever had, it is locally made at their factory in Columbus (tours of the factory - including samples! - are free!) and you can find some really unique favors for gifts. As a former 4-Her, I used to give the people who bought my projects an Anthony Thomas chocolate clover as a thank you gift. And when I represented Ohio in front of Congress, I took Anthony Thomas candy buckeyes along with me to pass out/bribe to the committee members.
