We love their individually wrapped caramels, chocolate caramels, and pecan turtles. There is an older lady who seems quite arrogant, she denied me a sample - which I thought odd given I was buying Christmas treats for my family. As this was not off putting (initially), when I asked her how many workers made all the candy offering and trivia about Goumas (she responded as if I were a spy from a local candy shop trying to get intel). Pretty sure she said, "my husband does all of the caramels of course." So guessing she may be an owner. Great candy, could have been a one off experience. At $30 per pound, a sample and a few interesting facts about the Newark landmark Candy shop would have been a small and appreciated show of appreciation (in and of itself). We drove right past it in the plaza because there really isn't a sign up but right when we were about to leave I spotted it & am so glad that I did! It's very clean & nice inside! They had full cases of lovely looking treats! The lady that helped us was very patient, which was amazing because we were VERY undecided about what we wanted. She was also very accommodating. The cake we chose was already decorated for Halloween & she moved some things around for us & turned it into the perfect birthday cake! We also got some cupcakes which were soooooo good! Unfortunately some of them didn't even make it to the party Most of them also aren't pictured here because the kids got a little over excited about them before I could even take a picture. Highly recommend this place!

I tried the Merry Mint popcorn - a mint extract sugar coating with chocolate drizzled about. It wasn't too bad. Of course, I wasn't present when she stopped at the brick and mortar shop to ask questions as to what they use to flavor the different popped corn, so I'm not sure if it's all natural, liquid flavorings, a heap load of sugar, or what. And, the mint was not the traditional caramel kind, so my experience remains limited.
