I finally had the chance to visit your shop today with my children, and we really enjoyed the experience. The drive from Reynoldsburg was short, and parking was very convenient. We loved the aesthetic and the extensive variety of snacks and treats available, from the walking tacos to the different popsicles and ice cream flavors. My kids enjoyed their gummy bear and cotton candy ice cream, and I really liked the Snickers flavor. It was great to find a place with such a nice selection of Mexican treats at a reasonable price. Sorry for the two stars, but I legitimately felt so ripped off when I ordered a chamango and got 4 scoops of ice cream with chamoy on top of it. Worse off, I'm pretty sure the ice cream was not even mango but vanilla. None of the employees believed me and I saw them even try the ice cream with not a clear agreement that it was mango. Other than that, I also ordered a fruit salad, which was way better than the "chamango". It was okay, I enjoyed the mango and watermelon, but could care less about the cantaloupe. Being from California, I may have higher expectations for this michoacana. I walked away throwing away my chamango and half of my fruit salad. Would not visit again. read more

My friends and I stopped in a little shop in our neighborhood to get a couple bottles of wine. As we were heading to check out, we noticed a mini freezer packed full of super colorful and intriguing cold treats. After standing there trying to guess what flavors they each were, we decided we each had to get one. It took us a minute to decided but eventually we made our way to the check out. Each popsicle was about $4 and the moment we got outside we passed them around, trying to confirm what each flavor was. I got strawberry and it was probably the favorite out of the three we got. Its color was vibrant, and you could see a few strawberries frozen inside. The other two we got were cotton candy and mint chocolate. Those two had a creamier texture while the strawberry had a texture similar to an ordinary popsicle. However, these flavors were not ordinary at all. You could immediately tell that the ingredients were high quality. The flavors were bold and delicious. Overall, we were so pleased with our random finds and all deemed these popsicles the best decision we had all made that day. While I didn't buy these treats at their location in Whitehall, I'm super excited to go check that out and I will definitely continue to get them at the shop near my home. This place is fabulous! I found this gem on Instagram and immediately saw their posts of elote and I had to come here. I was pleasantly surprised to find out this place is an ice cream shop! So many different, unique flavors (and free samples). I tried the queso ice cream which was definitely different than I thought & the girl working the counter had me try her favorite- the blueberry cream cheese which was great! I kept seeing their ads on Instagram and after literal months of scrolling through, noting how great everything looked I finally decided to give them a try! It was beyond worth it! The staff was so nice and helpful with helping me make selections seeing through I had never been in before and didn't really know what to try, there were SO MANY options & they all looked great! I had the Strawberry Fruit Bar which was pretty much like a popsicle. All of the flavors looked so good, so it was honestly hard to choose. I'm a huge fan of chamoy - introduced to me years ago because of my family's love of li hing mui (similar to Vietnamese dried salty plum). I've never had chamoy like this with so many options! I was in heaven. I ordered the lime and chili sorbet with chamoy (I'm not entirely sure what it was called on the menu) and my boyfriend ordered the mango and chamoy paleta. We were both extremely pleased (and wow, was mine a big portion for the money!) Plenty of salt and sweetness. It was perfect. The interior is beautiful and very clean. It's a very welcoming environment and the employees are friendly. The prices are excellent. I'm already looking forward to my next visit. This is such a gem. read more

La Michoacana is a classic and to find it right here in Columbus was a glorious experience! They are singlehandedly giving UDF a run for their money with a TON of amazing tropical flavors like passion fruit as well as classic flavors like raspberry, vanilla and others. I cannot express how happy I was just to walk in! They also have tons of other Mexican classics like elote (Mexican corn aka a gift from the heavens). You CANNOT go wrong here and they let you taste the flavors before buying! I got the passion fruit and dulce de leche. One of my favorites is arrow con leche so I'll get that next time! This place is amazing. I went in within the first couple weeks they were open, and I keep coming back. My favorite is the Guanabana (known to Caribbean countries as Soursop), but Mangonada is also becoming a favorite this summer. I keep trying new things, and I have nothing bad to say about any of them. Great selection, a wonderful, friendly staff, and an inviting space. It's been a while since I was the first to review a place, let alone something worthy of five stars. But La Michoacana is a shining jewel of an ice cream shop and with it being just a few blocks from my house, a new and dangerous (to my dieting plans) shop. I'd imagine that with summer almost in full swing, LMeT will not remain a secret for too much longer. But let's break down why in this little corner of Columbus there lies one of the best ice cream shops you can find. For those of you that know of Diamonds off of Bethel Rd. this will be familiar to you. Housed in what used to be a western (think cowboy) clothing store, the interior has been completely redone into a gleaming bright beacon of white, clean surfaces with an L shaped row of glass cases that seems to go on for a mile. In the cases are the best treats. There are about a half dozen tables inside and a few more picnic style tables outside. Most of you would probably be driving here, there is ample parking and easy highway access down the street to either Hamilton/I-70 or Main/270. For those of you that haven't had a paletas before, it's like a popsicle; except not because it's so much better than a popsicle could ever hope to be. Fresh cream, big chunks of fruit, and obviously all homemade here. At $2-$4 each they're an amazing frozen treat. They have a huge selection of both non-cream and cream based recipes. They also have some Michoacan specials, like chongos zamoranos, made of cheese curds that were formed with cinnamon and sugar. A wild assortment of ice cream flavors is also available, however I never made it past the paletas. I will be back and everything looked good. Lastly, a number of ice cream sundae specialty items on the menu, coupled with a small savory snack list as well. The staff, friendly and courteous. He helped a young boy in line behind me first at checkout which I was happy to see him do (us old guys can wait, let the kids have their fun). Price is more than reasonable for obviously hand crafted / home made ice cream. Credit cards are accepted. All of these things I think make this a star place for dessert. With Jenis, Johnsons, Graeters all on Main St. the east side is definitely becoming the "ice cream corridor" of Columbus. In a way, LMeT outshines the rest.
