There's a guy that works at the Winans' that is across from the Soin hospital, who phoned me to let me know That he couldn't fulfill h an order for Winan's fabulous feta/spinach pastry. Though he had two available he was letting me know what I could get instead of the third pastry. I thought that his doing that was very considerate. Those things are fabulous, by the way. My son and I always have a great experience at the Winans Beavercreek location, on Pentagon Blvd. The Barista, Andre', is always kind and down to earth. Andre' makes sure we are well taken care of, while we hang out inside the cafe. We go out of our way at times, just to be able to see and talk to Andre'. He is ​friendly and puts a smile on our face. I always love starting a morning at Winans! This coffee shop is a great place to not only indulge in delicious coffee but amazing chocolate and treats as well. The staff is extremely nice and welcoming and always makes my order perfectly. On days I don't go for my usual latte, I indulge in an amazing Oreo and Espresso Frappe. The baked goods are so hard to choose from but you can never go wrong with a classic or chocolate croissant. In addition to coffee they also offer wine by the glasses and bottle - I just wish they had chilled options that you can drink at one of their patio tables outside. I have been to 2 different Winan locations. I love this place, the chocolates are oh so good, I can't get enough of their salted caramels. The fresh coffee is perfectly yummy as well. The fact that the sell wine as well is amazing. I came in here for a coffee and got the KK (can't remember the name) basically a caramel and vanilla latte, love it. Service here was amazing, and they explained how sweet the drink would be so I asked for it half of the amount of pumps of flavors. I will gladly come back here, I really do enjoy this place. I went specifically for truffles. They were hit or miss... Dark Sea Salt Caramel - nice. Basic and exactly what you'd expect. Peanut Butter Delight - fine. Nothing special. Buckeyes - a little better as far as peanut butter and chocolate. Bavarian Mint - very nice. The inside was a dark chocolate mint ganache. This was one of my favorites. Butter Cream - super sweet! Too sweet for me. Miss Clara - it was described at a caramelized pecan. I assumed it had a soft center. Wrong. Hard center. That's just not my thing. Highlander Grogg Cream - divine! But Very sweet. Like, you might want to eat half and then finish the next bite later or you might have a headache. Cookie Dough - another favorite for me. Mostly because it wasn't overly sweet and had a nice texture. I'm not sure that I'm gonna rush back to this place. But if I do return, I'd definitely just go for the Bavarian Mint and the Cookie Dough. read more

Lovely coffeeshop with a calming and friendly atmosphere. While the lack of a drive-thru and simple parking make it someone I wouldn't come too often for "grab and go" coffee, it's prime location in The Greene makes it a great place to snag a coffee before or after your shopping. The coffee is delish and the service is fantastic. PROS: -Employees are super friendly. When they don't have a line, they usually greet me as I walk in the door. When they have a line, they try to deal with customers efficiently but are never rude or too short with customers. Every employee I've dealt with is pretty knowledgeable about their drinks and knows what questions to ask when I'm ordering to make sure the drink is what I want. -The store has a really comfortable and relaxing ambiance. As another reviewer mentioned, it's pretty quiet here. I don't actually think they usually tend to play music here - which works fine for me. There's enough noise that it's not awkwardly silent. There's usually multiple people working here as well as the in-and-out traffic from people grabbing coffees to go. It's a very comfortably calm atmosphere. -It's usually pretty darn clean too. I've never seen unbussed tables here, and the drink accessory area (straws, napkins, etc.) has never had spills or been unstocked. On that note, the shop is surrounded by windows, has lots of natural light, and has some armchairs for solo reading and such. It's a very comfortable-looking place too. -Store has a free rewards program. I'm not entirely sure what it actually accomplishes, but I've received a few texts for free chocolates with a purchase of a drink while I've been a member. Free chocolate? Hard to turn that down. -Speaking of chocolate, Winan's has a pretty good selection of chocolates. There's a small case full of delicious single-serve chocolates. They also sell boxes of their more-popular options (like Buckeyes or Chocolate-Covered Oreos) or items that are seasonal (candy corn) or decorated seasonally (items with sprinkles in the season's colors). They have no problem selling a single piece of chocolate, so if you want a little treat with your coffee, it's a nice feature to have it available right here. -As for the coffee, it's pretty delicious. I'm partial to their flavored options or their iced coffees. Both taste delicious and pretty "coffee" like. If you're looking for something more like dessert, though, this coffeeshop offers Frappes - which are very sweet. Most taste even sweeter than Starbucks Frappuccinos, so if you're new to their Frappes, order a smaller size or you might not be able to finish it. CONS: -This particular Winan's location is located within the Greene Shopping Plaza. This means there's no drive-thru and no dedicated parking lot. However, there are two spots in front of the building (street parking) for 5 minute parking for coffee pick-ups from Winan's. These spots are usually empty. This Winan's also happens to be located across the street from one of the large parking lots for the complex, so parking usually isn't too bad. -Most of the seating along the walls (with outlets) are high-top chairs. I really, really dislike high-top chairs. They're uncomfortable for me. I don't tend to spend much time here for work, but if I did, I'd want one of the three tables located near outlets that aren't high-top tables. read more

Today, my wife and I bought chocolate-covered blueberries, white chocolate peanut butter cups, white chocolate graham crackers, and a cookie. The blueberries were good. Recommend them. The peanut butter cups were ok. Not a good as Reece's. Don't get them. The graham crackers were bad. One's chocolate was mostly bitter baking wax. It was really gross. I purchased Buckeyes from Winans on the recommendation from a family member who lives in Beavercreek. A box of twelve was about $13. Good chocolate is expensive these days, so I felt the price was acceptable. They were the only candy shop I know outside of Cleveland to carry candy Buckeyes. RIP Peet's coffee... :( I went in to grab a coffee today, and the caramel apple cider caught my eye. It was delicious!!! And the service is friendly too! I just wish there was a much larger selection of pastries/small snack items to complement the drinks. I saw a couple of items in a basket: a couple muffins and slices of dessert bread. Stopped in for a coffee break earlier today and tried the buckeye frappe. So this place sells chocolate and coffee and smells divine. I wanted an iced coffee but the menu enticed me with the frappe flavors and I caved in and got this. It was more like a milkshake. It was super rich and sweet. Whoa! I couldn't drink more than 8 sips before I was wishing I had opted for the iced coffee. It tasted just like a buckeye and a hint of coffee. When I want a milkshake, this place will be fix.. A friend showed me this place while I was visiting her -- we met up after her work at U of Dayton. We actually have one in Dublin, Ohio around Columbus but I haven't been able to stop by at it. Although, I can vouch for their chocolates since my boyfriend gifted me their chocolate wurtles not once, but twice because he knew how much I liked em. Their coffee here is strong but flavorful, and their wait staff is welcoming. Their bathrooms are singles and I think the woman's lock was broken so even though there was a sign to knock before coming in, I saw a person or two get walked in on for a harmless laugh or two. Just ok. I've had 4 of their specialty coffees. Out of the 4 flavors, my favorite is the Wurtle, however at times can be a bit too sweet. I had one called the salted caramel before and could not drink it, the salt was very overpowering! Their drink prices are comparable to Starbuck's. I work at the Greene and go there to get coffee everyday before I head off to work. I have had the best experience there. They are very understanding, helpful, and patient. If you go in not knowing what you want, they will help you find the perfect drink. They also have the best fall flavors and combinations. The only problem I've ever had there is multiple times they will not ask if i need room and not fill my cup up all the way. And one day I had to wait 10 minutes for my drink. But out of all the times I go there, that was one. I can't complain much!
