Widespread dry conditions affect over half of Ivory Coast and two-thirds of Ghana, threatening major harvest seasons. Key affected areas include central and western regions of Ivory Coast.
Côte d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast) and Ghana are currently the primary drought-stricken cocoa areas in Africa, together accounting for roughly 60% of global production. As of late March 2026, drought conditions blanket more than half of Côte d'Ivoire and approximately two-thirds of Ghana, significantly threatening the mid-season harvest.
