After buying several dud vacuums over the past couple years I went looking for a quality appliance that will do just what a vacuum should: really suck! I have a 50 pound dog with white fur that seems to be everywhere all over my house.
Wimmer's sells a small selection of vacuums, a large selection of sewing machines, and repairs both.
My last vac was a Dyson Big Ball Animal Allergy. It was fine for maybe two years. Then the gasket material began to break down and the seals were not great. I felt like dust was going all over my house. I'm done with bagless vacuums.
I settled on a Riccar brand bag style vac. It has hepa filtration, and a light to tell you if something is stuck in the hose to prevent burning up the motor. It has a really good beater bar with three settings, high, low, and off (area rugs). My favorite thing is that it does just what a vacuum should do: it SUCKS! I went home and vacuumed my three bedroom home and filled an entire bag. Obviously my Dyson was failing me.
I swore I wouldn't look, but I spotted the row of baby lock machines. I'll definitely be back to check one of those out. The shop also sells premium quilting fabric and has an array of beautiful sample quilts adorning the walls.
The sales clerk who helped me with my purchase was a really sweet lady, and she invited me to bring my machine and project for the Thursday evening sewing circle.
Wish I'd thought to take a photo. Next time. Really excited to find my new sew and vac shop. read more
