The staff is always helpful and everything I've tried was delicious, cupcakes included. I prefer a hometown bakery over anything Walmart or even Publix has to offer. I am from out of town and was told by a friend that Wilson's was a good bakery and a must try- I was SO disappointed. I got 2 cupcakes: red velvet and strawberry. Both cupcakes were dry and the frosting on the red velvet was more sugar than cream cheese and it had a weird aftertaste. The strawberry frosting was plain buttercream with food coloring and didn't taste like strawberry at all. They were not good enough to be worth the calories, so I tossed them in the trash. They were $3.00 each so I was unhappy about wasting $6.00. I also got 2 finger cookies (nut) and a pecan bar. The cookies have a line of icing on them but it leaves more to be desired. They were simply ok and at $0.75 a piece they were pricey. Lastly I tried the pecan bar- that was good, nothing special just good, at $3.00 I could have gotten a pecan pie from publix for a couple dollars more and had enough to share. In fact I prefer the baked good from Publix (grocery) than here. Sorry, but I won't be coming back here again. Also, it's misleading for you not to post prices on your baked goods- I know most people won't ask to put things back so it helps your sales, but I am certain most are surprised at their total when the pay. My order was 2 cupcakes, 2 finger cookies and a pecan bar for a total of $11.20 (give or take a few cents). read more

I LOVE Wilson's Bakery!!!!! This is where I order ALL of our cakes from!! They use real sugar and their cakes are the bomb!!! Whenever we have birthday parties, people always ask who made the cake, and they comment on how delicious it is!! I've tried other bakeries, and many people love Publix, but once they try one from Wilson's they're hooked!! They also have the most yummy cookies, and my husband's favorite is the fudge. They even have fresh baked doggie biscuits and my girls LOVE them!! That way, when I get something for us, I can get them something yummy, too! They also make doughnuts, which I recently found out about, so we had to give them a try. They're just as delicious as everything else!! I placed an order for some of their delicious goodies. I called today to see if they were ready (because we live out of town) only to have less than good customer service. They couldn't find my order and even the tone of the lady i spoke to sounded accusatory that i didn't place the order. (she said they give a day and time for pick up and my order had a time frame of two days due to living out of town) I have proof of my call in my past call record. I threatened to cancel the order but went ahead with it since its a Christmas gift and Christmas is only 2 days away. She could care less if i cancelled it or not. THEN she looked for the order and found it under the last name Chatman. i have never in my life said my name was Chatman. but the way the phone call went, i felt like she blamed me on the last name mix up. Again, if this wasnt a gift this order would be cancelled and i wouldnt waste my time driving all that way for their products. Bad customer service and ruin a really good product. read more

I have been doing business with Wilson's for years, so it was only write that they were chosen to do the cake for my baby's first birthday party. Big mistake!!! The cake was ready after the agreed upon pick up time, as a result of them overbooking. Additionally, the cake was not decorated per the order i.e. different colors and designs. Lastly, the cake was EXTREMELY dry!! I was so embarassed because my guests complained as well. I am pissed!!! It was my baby's 1st bday cake!! I made a complaint and they offered a store credit for half the price of the cake. I have no upcomming events, nor a desire to buy $50 dollars worth of dounts. I want my money back!!! I'm really surprised to have to write a negative review about this place, but it is what it is. We've been back twice (really 3 times...see below) since our original (and very satisfactory visit). While a few items have been consistently good (plain glazed donuts, croissants and the various flavors of cheese Danish), others have been mediocre to downright inedible on a couple of occasions. On our most recent run, we got a package of their blueberry muffins to try for the first time...they were about half-cooked and inedible (uncooked flour is not appetizing), and they gave my wife custard-filled donuts instead of the creme-filled ones she asked for and those things were, no other way to put it...disgusting. A lot of the other stuff - honey buns, cinnamon twists, sticky buns, blueberry donuts - have been edible but not much more than that. Plus, unless you want cookies or a cake, they're generally out of almost everything they carry in the pastry section (completely out one day a full 4 hours before closing...that was the 3rd trip I mentioned above...there was, literally, nothing to buy that day). If the products aren't going to be any better than other local chain donut/pastry places, I see no point in fighting the crowds or paying the higher prices at Wilson's. We might give them one more try at some point, but for the near future, we'll just save ourselves some trouble and go to Dunkin', Daylight or KK when we want donuts or pastries. read more

My brother and I walked to Wilson's (then Nygards) when we were children. They were located on Commercial Circle. Then as now, they have absolutely the best bakery products you can find anywhere. I moved away in 1978 and now live in TN. Everytime I go back home I MUST go to Wilson's, Their Cream Horns are absolutely the best ever. I have been taking my granddaughters to GA with me since they were little girls. They are not happy until we stop at Wison's. They are now in college and both want Wilson's to make their wedding cakes. They are indeed a blessing. read more

Four times a year, i order birthday cakes for my 4 children. Wilson's bakery has some of "The Best" cakes i have ever tasted!!! I hate the grocery store brand cakes. Wilson's bakery cakes have such a classy quality to them! I ordered a cake this year at the Watson location, altho the cake was not the color blue i asked for, i did not complain because it was delicious!! The only 2 problems i have had recently is with the cupcakes and customer service. Theres always about 3 workers moving around, with only one worker helping people at times, which makes you to have to wait longer than you should. "Greetings" could be a whole lot better no matter the customer. I have purchased hard cupcakes twice recently. I was totally not pleased with that. The next time i order i will tell them so. Hopefully they will welcome my honesty and give me fresher ones. read more

I witnessed the male manager who I was later told was the owners husband yelling at one of the girls behind the counter for dropping some cookies, the girl went to throw them away and he lost his mind. NEVER again will I order anything from this Bakery. The Birthday cake that I paid over $80.00 for was as if it had been made two day's before hand and iced the day of. Not only that but it had no taste and was as dry as a desert. When I called to let them know, they informed me that management would be in after 10. When I called back they said they were not in, when I called again for the third time they informed me that they didn't know when management would return and that I should have brought it back in. This would have been feasible had I bought it during the week but I bought it on a sat. This was my nine year old daughter's birthday cake and neither her nor her party friends could even eat this cake. Her Birthday cake was ruined!!! Needless to say it went in the TRASH. They said it could feed twenty people,it didn't even fill the box, they put ice decoration around it to fill in the empty space. Did I want my money back? No, that was a chance I took ordering from someone I didn't know, however as a business owner myself I would have expected a call back to discuss my displeasure with the situation. I am very disappointed in my experience with Wilson's Bakery! Checked the times and said they closed at 3:00 so we called and were informed they were closing at 12:00. We told them we were from out of town but previously lived in the area and wanted some of their items. We even told them what we wanted and were heading to their store immediately. We arrived at 12:02 as they were letting a customer out the door. My wife told them she was the person that had called ahead and gave them the order we wanted and wanted to know if we could still get them. She was greeted with a resounding no as they quickly locked the door. If this is how local businesses treat their customers, then this is sad. I would have understood if we just showed up randomly and it was 12:15 or later, but we called and preordered. I guess the next time we drive from Virginia we know where we will not stop by and get baked goods. read more
