I would rarely talk to a rep who knocks on my door, especially when I previously had another roofing company that I was satisfied with the last time we experienced a bad hailstorm. I am not surprised the roofing reps circulate storm-damaged neighborhoods. It's no different than trial attorneys reaching out to accident victims. It's a marketing practice. The former chases storms, whereas the latter chases ambulances. Nothing out of the ordinary there. Then I met Jody, a new rep they recently hired. Since I normally don't even talk to door-to-door reps, I usually politely dismiss them without appearing too grumpy. However, he convinced me to at least consider the possibility of scheduling an appointment because part of the inspection included looking for collateral damage. Ryan, the owner, came out and impressed me with his knowledgeable and professional approach. He showed me how my previous roofer made some shortcuts by not completely removing the underlayment. He also found a damaged chimney, a broken window, and screens, and two garage doors. After researching some of the reviews, and seeing that they're local, I contracted with this company, who in turn subcontracted the chimney rebuild, and garage doors. Ryan asked for no money up front when I signed the contract. It went exactly as Ryan said it would; we would settle up when the work was done. We settled today as the Schilling Overhead Doors installed the new doors (I paid extra for the upgraded doors and new motors, which was totally worth it). He said I made it easy because I provided all of the estimates, including supplementals when my adjuster made it available. He worked with my adjuster to document the additional damage, so that my adjuster would approve the supplemental. They installed the roof in less than one day. They run like a well-oiled machine and choose only the best tradesmen as their subcontractors. I highly recommend this company and will do business with them as the need arises.

Our roof was damaged in the last big storm of early winter 2023. The previous roof was only about five years old and did not last through the high winds we had, which were not bad to begin with. We had used a different company that we have since learned took many shortcuts, and that showed in their pricing. Our contact, Joey Vidal, worked within our budget and with our insurance quote while providing us with high-quality products that we needed without giving us options that we didn't need. Once we agreed on the work, we were quickly added to their schedule, and the team arrived on the scheduled day. They spent a few hours on prep, removing gutters and shutters, then arrived the next day and began work. They stayed late and almost completed the job in one day, but needed to come back the next morning, completing the job in less than two days. The entire time, Joey kept us up to date via phone calls and text messages and provided drone pictures of the roof. Everyone we worked with was courteous and respectful of our time. After the work was complete, Joey and his son returned to scout around the perimeter of the house to look for errant nails and leftover material that may have fallen and not been cleaned up. The final step was a complimentary pressure wash of our driveway. This was much appreciated since we are unable to do that right now due to water restrictions. Once the work was completed to our satisfaction, we were presented with the final bill, and Joey even stopped by to pick up the check so I didn't have to drive to the office or drop a large check in the mail. We appreciated the fine work and excellent communication with the Vidals, and we plan to use them for some future construction projects.

I had split up my project with Madalina performing the tear down, which included the take down of cabinets and tear down of a pantry and a wall, installation of electrical, lighting, and a gas line, etc.  We had to change the design unexpectedly because my original vision could not be achieved, but it turned out even better because we removed a load bearing post and opened up the space even more!  After installation of cabinets by a second company, Madalina came back out to complete the project by painting, and installation of the countertop and backsplash, plus all the finishing touches. Madalina's team is very professional, dedicates attention to detail, and is responsive to design preferences and any requests to address concerns you might have along the way.  I would recommend you solidify daily, weekly or total project timelines in advance because the company might be juggling other projects, as you might expect in this line of work. Though both my fiancé and I are able to work from home, which allowed for more flexibility, and because we wanted to be home during project work, we would have preferred more specificity as to the schedule because it was just looser than we desired.   This issue wouldn't prevent us from hiring them again; it's just something we would discuss with the team before the next project. Shortly thereafter, I talked with Jacob who constantly kept me informed of the when and what type of work was going to be performed. They were able to completely replace my house roof in one day. All crew members that I talked with were courteous and professional. My roof looks great. Due to the hail damage there was specific paperwork that had to be completed and sent to USAA. Jacob took care of submitting all necessary paperwork for the insurance claim making it an easy and seamless transaction. I will definitely to business with Norwest Roofing again if the need arises.
