I put a feeler out on Yelp for a couple concrete slabs and gazebo project. I received two responses…read moreright away, one was from Axis and one other. I met with Gianmarcos (Axis) and we had a good conversation and went over my specifications. (I am extremely detail oriented and picky) He left me impressed even though he is pretty young, I think early 20's. While he was putting together estimate, the other contractor called, this one right away was not listening to me and I just said, not interested, we did not even meet. I ended up doing some research on Axis, Better Business Bureau did not have any information on Gianmarcos or Axis, all I found was company was very new. So, it was either take a chance on this young man, or look for more estimates. A day later, he texted me estimates and they were solid, with my first impression he gave me, I hired him. His entire crew was professional and they were very communicative throughout the entire process. One of my main pet peeves is up charges on top of estimates. I like knowing costs up front. Even though I had two up charges on my project, they were both legit, one was adding rock around gazebo, it was Gianmarcos suggestion rather than just base which was original plan. It worked out well. Second was an extra electrical box since existing one was maxed out. Like I stated before, I am very picky, I wanted several switches, to control bug zappers, fans, lights, speakers, heaters, etc. all this was done, expertly in my opinion. They even fixed a couple things I was not totally happy with without complaint or up charge. All that is left is staining, which could not be done because of temperature drop. As long as they come back to complete staining as promised, this will remain 5 stars. I am very impressed with this company, I had to make this post.

He gave me an up-front estimate, which seemed fair. He asked for a 50% deposit, which (based on past reviews) also seemed fair. The first workday, he arrived then left because of weather: it was a bit misty but not actively raining. Each day, he arrived at around 11 am. I told him up front that our HOA is very strict and that the lights must be professionally installed. Halfway through, there were cords dangling making it appear unsightly. I told him again that we want all cords hidden. At the end of it all, there were still cords dangling in several places, easily visible a casual observer. Additionally, while Govee recommends their lights be 2 to 4 inches from the wall, he installed them at least 10 inches from the wall, making for a muted and dimmed light show. In the end, we were very disappointed and had to hire a second contractor to uninstall his work and then reinstall the lights correctly. If you need Govee Permanent Outdoor Lights installed, look elsewhere. I cannot speak to any other work he John does.

This added significantly to their time. I had a good time visiting with them, and we laughed about our goofy dogs. They cleaned up their mess and were respectful of my property while here. I do not hesitate to recommend John. I have two happy little dogs who have already figured out how to use the door!

In January, I researched several companies to complete the installation of a patio on my new home…read more I wanted to design a composite deck that would stand the test of the years, and found two companies in San Antonio offering the installation services I required. After reviewing the company's website, I decided to go with Texas Remodeling Pros as I did like the photos of the work they had recently completed. Their salesman Michael arrived to my home and assessed the size of the upcoming operation. It seemed like a fairly easy process to design and Michael and I discussed my payment options. I consider myself intelligent and am not trying to be ignorant or obtuse about how Michael and I discussed what payment options were available and how I could lower the price. As a veteran, Michael offered me a veteran's discount that took the price down from $11,366 to $9,093. He then stated that if I paid in Cash, I could save an additional savings that would bring my total down to $8525 if I didn't use my Credit Card. I jumped at the opportunity to save more as the company offered financing, credit cards and a payment of a check as a way to pay. Last week, I made my first deposit from my bank account where the money was debited from my checking's account. When the final payment was requested of $4500 yesterday, I questioned Evan as to why I wasn't given my Cash discount because I paid the money from the cash out of my checking's account. She began to speak quickly about me not paying "All Cash" for my deposit. She stated arrangements were not made to come and pick up the cash from my home. I quickly informed her that no one from Texas Remodeling Pros informed me that they needed to come and pick up CASH from my home for me to get the required Cash Discount. I was quite upset that I felt I was deceived a bit and wanted my discount . Because she had to leave for the day, I did not want to argue back and forth with Evan. I have never had a company require me to pay "All Cash" for a discount, especially when I didn't use my credit card for my initial payment. I write this review so that any other customer seeing an "All Cash discount" is not bamboozled like I felt I was yesterday. While I enjoy looking at my patio, I didn't enjoy the trash the workers left on my property while they were working. I did reach out to the company and they did rectify the issue immediately, but they should encourage their vendors to respect a customer's home at all times. Also, I would highly recommend getting multiple bids when utilizing this company. I also considered them for my front circle driveway, but quickly dropped them from the running after a 115K bid was presented to me. I even informed Michael that I had 3 Bids in the 40's and he stated that he was the best... (Yeah OK...) didn't go with them.... While it's cute, nothing about the patio screams $9000, especially with the few materials that were delivered to complete the construction. All in all, I just recommend you question everything they say and look at the fine details of your contract. Due to interactions during the payment process, I can't recommend at this time .

What a spectacle of a contractor. If you're looking for…read moreexcuses, missing materials, mystery "crews," and a storyline more chaotic than a telenovela, this is your guy. If you're looking for an actual finished project... run. From day one, he had more excuses than a kid skipping homework. Every delay was someone else's fault. According to him, the universe, the schedule, and everything in between sabotaged the job -- while our patience quietly disappeared. We picked out the cabinets we wanted -- color, quality, everything. He showed up with low-quality substitutes that were the wrong color and tried to pass them off anyway. Then claimed he was going to "custom paint" them, despite not having been at the property in over three weeks. Promised his "team" would be there on certain days, then went completely silent. He took half the money upfront and didn't order any of the materials. The only time there was urgency was when he thought he could get more money without doing the work. When we terminated him, he tried to charge us for items he never completed and attempted to change prices that had already been agreed upon. Let's talk about this so-called crew. He had one person doing nearly all the work, and the electrician left the job unfinished, including a large hole in the wall. The place was extremely messy, with no effort made to clean up. Work quality was just as bad. He scuffed and damaged the bathtub he installed, and in the kitchen the walls weren't even skimmed far enough down, leaving an obvious unfinished line. Attention to detail was nonexistent. And then came the final act. After being terminated, he suddenly said he would "settle" for $2,500 if the money was paid the same day (a Friday afternoon). When the lender explained it would take a couple of days, he became aggressive, hung up on her, and made unreasonable threats. That kind of behavior is not how legitimate businesses operate. Save yourself the stress, the delays, and the half-finished work. This contractor is unreliable, unprofessional, and not worth the risk.
