The "best" choice was not obvious from this research. I asked a friend who recently had kids get their drivers licenses and he recommended West Point without any reservations. I re-scoured the reviews and became convinced. The registration process was straightforward, and the office staff was always polite, efficient and professional. They are clearly used to dealing with unexpected issues because they were flexible with unplanned changes and last minute bookings. I only observed the instructors during their pre-drive briefings and post-drive debriefings. Always calm, nonjudgmental and full of useful tips. My kid told me that the instructors were always calm and did not raise their voice or panic. 100% recommend with no reservations.

I selected Program 2 with an additional 1-hour lesson ($575 for 5 hours of instruction.) The instructor was kind and patient, however, always showed up late behind at least 20-45 minutes to every appointment and contact me at the last minute, so I never know until then. Moreover, my 4th lesson was cancelled at the last minute, even though she decided the appointment day and time. She ended up wasting my Sunday since she scheduled it in the middle of the day on Sunday. To make matters worse, the instructor provided feedback about my final lesson only after my behind-the-wheel driving test was already over‼ I informed her about my test day, but I didn't receive her feedback until after the test was over‼ This made it impossible to review effectively and rendered the feedback meaningless. As a result, I failed the test. Therefore I had to take extra lessons with another school. ※Update based on the comments below: I personally do not think this is fair‼ Was I treated differently than other students⁉ I didn't feel completely prepared because all lessons except the final one(DMV mock test) always finished earlier within 1 hour. Especially when a student specifically requests to work on their weaknesses. I took an additional lesson and asked to practice areas where I struggled, such as parking, lane changes, and merging into heavy traffic. However, you barely focused on any of these, despite my direct requests‼ Instead, you spent most of the time having me drive in a straight line, leaving me still uneasy about lane changes. I'm pretty disappointed that I did not receive the instructions as she mentioned below, or even the promised one-hour duration except for the final lesson‼

At first everything was going well with Steven as my daughter's driving instructor. The instructor…read morewas abruptly changed to an older woman on my daughter last scheduled session.this was supposed to be the first lesson on the freeway and she was excited about completing her sessions. First thing that went wrong was the instructor contacted me the day of our appointment which was scheduled over a week in advance, and she requested that I leave work early so the session could take place a 2 instead of the original time of 3:30. I obliged just to be nice. I drove from Stockton to Sacramento at the meeting spot. She ended my daughters lesson 30 minutes early and never took her on the freeway, I immediately called her and asked why, she claimed that there was too much traffic but she insured me that my daughter drove safely and "beautifully" . I hung up and called the office to speak with the owner who was very unprofessional by suggesting I wasn't telling the full story and said he would offer another 30 minutes as a courtesy. After speaking with him then my daughter, I learned that not only did the instructor not take me daughter on the freeway but she also took a call and discussed rushing to meet her friend for plans that they had. My daughter was ripped off from what should have been a great ending to her training program all because the instructor wanted to rush back to her personal life and I'm upset because this isn't fair.no one has called me back even tho I was promised a follow up. I say simple because they all have the ability to break down any kind of math equation. I spent half of my general Ed (K-12) in Special Ed. I have never been great with math. I am now able to learn extremely complex math. I have to respectfully disagree with the other woman's review. To be clear the field of Drug and Alcohol Counseling is one of the lowest earning careers. You don't make anything above $35,000.00 a year. Most jobs are very low pay regardless of the field. Making $12.00/hr is the norm. It's pretty bad and unfortunate, that a severe lack of income is hugely ignored in society. The staff at the Rancho Cordova campus are very helpful and honest. They are always there to help you. If you're not ready to start working in your chosen field, they help you find a job anyways. Until you feel ready to learn your trade in the field, they patiently wait. When you give them the green light they help you with a smile. The campus president O.C. is a wonderful lady and a great listener. She makes all of the students feel welcome and takes the time to know all of us.
