We signed up with NorCal Driving School in January this year for my son. Right from the get - go, I knew this was an incredibly professional and knowledgeable school. The office administrator who I dealt with on several occasions was super helpful, patient with all my questions and went above and beyond with explaining what to expect. She was friendly, easy to talk to, and very through with information about what to expect. The Driver Instructor we had (Josh), was very professional, easy going and very knowledgeable. My son really enjoyed his driving sessions with him (we even added on an additional lesson with him to review things my son was unsure of). Josh always retuned after a lesson with my son to explain how the session went, and recommendations on things to work on. His insight and knowledge was incredibly helpful for my son's test. All my fears about my son starting to drive was put to ease after having my son drive with Josh. I did my driving lessons with PAUL and all I can say is that he is GOD SENT. If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't have passed my driving test today. I had no experience driving, I was also scared to go behind the wheels and at my age I didn't know it was possible to still learn. But Paul made it possible, he is a great instructor, who doesn't teach you only to pass the test but to be a safe driver for life. He always encourages me and gives me tips on how I can grow and improve as a driver. He will always tell you the truth but he is filled with love, respect and humor, I never had a dull moment around him. The whole experience with this school was excellent. The calls are taken instantly, the receptionist is very attentive and cordial. I had lessons with Josh, who always arrived before time. He is very professional, always talking of driving rules, situations that you may see, and the best way to react. reminding me of everything as needed. After finishing the lesson, he answered all the questions that I had, and make graphics if needed. And he talked with my relatives about all that I needed to keep working on. Josh trained my son Chance. I was a nervous wreck cuz my son never even started a car ever! I was a nervous mom to teach him. I was so worried and waited and had my phone next to me the that first 2 hours of training. When they came back, my son looked good and happy about driving. Josh was so calm and cool. He made my son feel confident from day 1 until the last session today. Josh was very patient and nice to my son and I am very pleased we picked Norcal to train my son to drive. Paul helped me for two hours on the day of my Behind-the-Wheel driving test. He was super helpful with giving tips on anything that I needed to improve. He was super nice about everything, and explained to me in every way he could if I was having trouble understanding what I should be doing. He helped me practice parallel parking, and when I fallowed his directions, I backed up perfectly into the spot. He was quick to spot out any mistakes I was making, and was super helpful in helping me correct them. I passed my test! I wasn't feeling very confident before he helped me, but after his advice I knew I'd pass. read more

Before my lessons, I had zero experience with cars or behind a wheel. I kept saying to myself that I couldn't do it and that it be take me forever to learn to drive. My instructor was extremely patient and encouraging and promised that before Christmas, I would have my license. We built up my confidence and skills and then in just over a month, I was overly prepared for my drivers exam and aced it without error. I had an instructor named Josh, and it was the best experience I ever had with driving. Every lesson was very informative and he was incredibly patient with me, making sure I knew what my goals were for the day, for the lesson , and what I had learned. He would be constantly making sure that if I had anything questions to ask so that he could answer them. Because of Josh, I passed my driving test with only one mistake, and I knew, going into the DMV that I was more than prepared to take my behind the wheel test. Finished my 3 lessons on October 30th. before NorCal I had an instructor for my first lesson and he was quite intimidating and not the nicest, but at the same time it was my first lesson. But then when I told my parents that I wanted a new instructor, we asked for my school to pay for it, as I am homeschooled, and they payed for my NorCal driving lessons. Today my daughter had her first behind the wheel driving lesson with Josh and it went incredibly well. He met us and talked to us about what to expect each lesson, took her out, came back and reviewed with us how she did and what he recommended we work on for next time. Love this Driving school! My Son just went through the course and passed his driving test as well because of it. Josh was his instructor and my Son really liked him. He made him feel calm, comfortable, and he felt he really learned a lot! I see my Son driving and although he's 17 new driver I feel very safe being in the car with him. Three words: Ask for Josh. I just took my behind-the-wheel driving test and passed on the first try thanks to Josh. As someone who didn't have the opportunity to learn how to drive as a teenager, I had major driving anxiety. Josh was super patient, supportive, and gently reminded me to "breathe" whenever he sensed my anxiety kicking in. Scheduling lessons was easy and the woman on the phone was very friendly and helpful. The instructor Josh is really nice and easygoing, and you can tell he really loves to teach driving. He helped me a lot and made me feel comfortable and more confident in my driving. In 3 weeks I was able to complete all 3 lessons required by the state and I passed my liscense test the 1st try with no errors at all. Thank you! Okay, listen...ALL of the driving schools are expensive. You can't shop for inexpensive lessons because they don't exist. But with NorCal, we felt like we got what we paid for. The website/student portal is super user friendly, and the company was communicative with what they needed from us. My daughter passed her test easily. Josh G is honestly an amazing driving instructor. He keeps things calm and doesn't make you feel stressed, which really helped me learn better.
