I took driving lessons at Bond because I wanted to learn how to drive for the first time in my 50s. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. After 3 sessions (a total of 3 hours of driving), I felt like I achieved and learned nothing. I had a bad experience with a driving instructor as a teenager, which already set me back. I came to Bond hoping for better -- but instead, these were the problems I saw: Teaching style - A good instructor needs to be prepared to teach differently depending on the student. People learn in different ways, and I didn't see that flexibility. Organization - The lessons felt unorganized. There was no syllabus or clear structure that told me what skills I would be working on. Without a roadmap, it felt like we were just driving around aimlessly. Location - Lessons should be centered around the DMV test areas (Folsom, Carmichael, Downtown Broadway). Instead, we were just driving randomly around Sacramento, which didn't prepare me for the DMV test routes. Students should be practicing basic driving skills -- parallel parking, reverse parking, backing up, and regular parking -- directly on the DMV test streets. The first focus should always be the DMV test streets, and only after that should lessons expand to freeway driving, downtown, or unscripted street routes. The goal is to pass the DMV test, which is only about 20 minutes long. Let students get familiar with the streets around the DMV instead of driving anywhere around Sacramento County. When I later read Kelvin B.'s review about how his daughter also didn't learn anything at Bond, I understood exactly what he meant. My experience was the same -- a lack of structure, no real progress, and wasted time and money. For the cost, I expected a much more structured and personalized learning experience. Instead, I left feeling unprepared and frustrated. i still haven't learn how to drive and i now do not trust driving instructors. I wish somebody can help me read more

The customer service has been just fine. The online portion is so silly that my son with ADHD literally cannot get through it. Bond driving school came to our rescue! Due to the pandemic my son behind the wheel was canceled on March. In June DMV rescheduled his appointment. He needed his last driving lesson cause his test date are in end of June. The company we use before was not able to fit him in and wasn't willing to accommodate us at all. Bond was able to squeeze us in.Thank god! Feedback from my son. He informed me that his instructor was very informative and very detail of what not to do and what he needs to work on. They are literally the worst. I started my driving lessons when I just turned 18 and bought my myself a Swarovski bracelet, it got caught to the steering wheel and I took it off becouse I didn't want to break it it was pretty expensive from Swarovski. Once I got home I realized how I forgot it in the car it was about 2 minutes since I got home, I texted the driving instructor and told her and she claimed to be too far to return it. She said she'll be in the area the next day and will return it. The next day happens and I ask her about it and she claims that she lost it in the parking lot of a church??? And was searching for it? But as soon as she seen it she told me how much she loved my bracelet and asked where I had gotten it and how much it costed. Pretty suspicious right? read more

If I could do ZERO stars I would. My daughter's instructor, Rebecca Gianatasio was extremely unprofessional and rude. She first made the comment about my daughter's clothes, it's 105 degrees out today, and said "if I was your mom I wouldn't let you wear that"... Then she proceeded to make nasty comments about my daughter's driving, and when asking for help would say "I can't with you" as if she was irritated. WE PAID YOU TO TEACH HER, NOT HURT MY CHILD. This is absolutely disgusting behavior from a PAID TEACHER. I want every penny back that we paid, she should not have a job teaching kids if she can't be professional and do what she is paid to do. I will NEVER recommend this driving school to anyone. This woman HURT MY CHILD, and if you look at the reviews she has been like this many times and this company doesn't care to correct her, so obviously they are ok with this behavior. In order to get my hand controls installed in my personal vehicle, I was required to do 12+ hrs of behind the wheel training using hand controls. Quality of trainers: great, experienced and friendly Vehicle selection: good, prius or minivan Options on controls: many available, they will evaluate best option for you Cost: not sure if in-line with other schools, but paying was a requirement to get certified. I just completed my last driving class to get hand controls installed in my vehicle and am so happy I finally did it! I had been putting off going through the process for about a year. I was nervous not knowing what the process was to get them installed and also to finally admit I needed to use hand controls when driving due to MS. If you find you are needing hand controls, but are hesitant to move forward with the process, I highly recommend that you do it. Now, I wish I hadn't wasted a year fretting over it. I was recommended to Bond Driving School from a mobility company I had bought a scooter lift from. When I finally made up my mind to do it, I called Bond and they were very nice and answered all of my initial questions regarding the process. Within a couple of days, they sent out an instructor to do my initial evaluation and go over hand control options. The week after that, I started my 18 hours of driving training. I did nine, two hour driving classes. The entire process took about a month and that was only because I needed about a week off for a holiday week. Otherwise, it goes pretty quick. The absolute best part is they come to your house for the evaluation and for the driving classes so you don't have to worry about how you'll get to all of your appointments. The second best part (sorry John) is the instructor! John P was my instructor. He is very nice, patient and fun. He has a relaxed teaching style and doesn't make you nervous at all. I had a great time driving all around Sacramento during my classes and hanging out with John. It just felt like I was driving around with a friend. They were very accommodating despite me reaching out to them on such short notice (a few days before my test). The instructors (Salvador and Ragain) were very patient and their suggestions and feedback were helpful for the driver's road test. Their tips and techniques are both practical and convenient, and come very handy on the actual test. I took a 2-hour lesson and a refresher session prior to the test, and passed! Only doing this review because I've gotten a billion emails asking me to. My mom picked this driving school because they had a deal or something. The first session the instructor let some 15 year old drive me around (illegal, I looked it up after the fact) the second session the lady was literally eating a bucket of KFC the entire time, and my third session was with a man so old he shouldn't even be driving, he didn't know the names of any of the freeways and repeatedly GRABBED THE WHEEL with no warning even though I had no issues with the previous two lessons. And then said to me "I can't wait to see you again after you don't pass" use any other driving school. This place is a shit show. read more

I took lessons from this driving school 28 year ago and it was an excellent experience. Fast forward to 2021 I enrolled my daughter into the 3 two hour driving lessons and I'm so disappointed. My daughter has the confidence to drive but she is lacking the key components to passing the exam. When I took my daughter out driving I was shocked that she didn't know the hand over hand method while steering, the unnecessary usage of a blinker on a curvy road,throttle positioning and parking. I felt it was comical getting her up to speed but the real joke was on me. I paid several hundred dollars for a training and I now had to untrain my child and improve her skill set. She was allowed to just do what ever. 6 hours is a long time behind the wheel to not know the basics. I'm definitely not a happy camper. I should of save my money. I mean, I've never [unintentionally] killed anyone with my car. Nor have I ever dented a vehicle. So I guess they taught me well. The class I took was more amusing than anything else. It was taught by a Harley-Davidson-type named Bud. Bud had a long salt-and-pepper ponytail that complimented the leather vest he wore everyday. He was straightforward, dramatic, and funny. We watched Red Asphalt, which is a horror movie intended to keep kids from speeding. It is basically the equivalent of a traffic-accident snuff film. I believe my subconscious has blocked it from my active memory, and I am not searching for it. My favorite part of driving school: BUD: "Kids, don't drive drunk. Just don't do it. You probly smash into me n' my dog and kill us both. I don't need no ironic death, man. (short pause) Don't drive intoxicated. But if you have to, be stoned instead, man. It's a lot safer. But you can get a DUI for that shit... my buddy got pulled over for driving high... the cop could tell because he was going 12 mph on the freeway." Classic. STEER CLEAR OF BOND DRIVING SCHOOL! BUYER BEWARE!!! They will charge you for services that you don't even use, regardless of if you follow their terms of cancellation! Henning promised me that with the purchase of a package rate, I would be refunded for the times unused. After scheduling to take my driving test, I asked to reschedule my appointment with them which takes place the day after, but they recommended for me to take the test first, and then if needed to reschedule, they will be able to do it. The day of the test, I passed! Unfortunately, they were not very happy to hear this. Stacie, who claims to be the manager suddenly hit me with a 24 hour cancellation policy (I was never informed of this before I cancelled), claiming that they will have to charge me for the class the next day! On their website it says that cancellations have to be before 4pm the day before the test or else one would have "forfeit" their lesson. I called at 2:21 with proceeding calls, but they still want to slam me with that ridiculous 24 hour policy. I don't know about you, but I don't see how it is right to charge $1050 for 2 driving lessons! This is absurd and nowhere near market value. They also mislead their customers by saying that the driving instructor have to "sign off" on them in order for them to take the driving test. This is also false. These guys are exploiting disabled people! They are the only ones available in Sacramento (I tried to find any competitors through google and dmv), so the market is very slim and they're taking advantage of that. DON'T BE VICTIMIZED! Know your consumer rights! UPDATE: About that response from Bond, 1) This is about service I received. NOT my brother. 2) This response was a copy and paste from another reviewer, which just furthermore proves my point about their terrible customer service. 3) I was NOT originally refunded for ALL the hours unused. I was only refunded $450/$800 that I am absolutely entitled to. The full $800 refund they are referring to was only after a long conversation with them, pleading and begging for them to refund me what I was entitled to, to which they said, "I have no power over that, it's all in the computer and once it's done, it's done." (BULLSHIT!) And I have even emailed them in an attempt to point out the policy online, yet they only refunded me partially ($450) when I asked for the full $800. Only hours later that day with the support of my sister, did they "decide" to refund me the rest of the amount that they held ransom. 4) I AM not only "unhappy" but disappointed, angry, and hate the way your people handles a FICTIONAL "24-hour" policy that doesn't even match up the terms advertised on your website. It was a totally shady move. With their resolution, they still wanted to have the last passive aggressive word. There is simply no winning against these guys, even when you do! They did not apologize for their mistakes, but rather hold onto their pride and make a larger ass of themselves than they are already coming off to be. I will post the final email that I am referring to, just because I can't post all of them. First response after pointing out policy online: Steven, That refund/cancellation policy that you are quoting from our website is outdated and has now been updated. Thank you for bringing that to our attention. However the policy that was supplied to you for your knowledge is printed on the back of the check-off list that the instructor handed you after both of your driving lessons (see attached) contains the current policies in place which apply to you. The $450 you are entitled to has been refunded back to the credit/debit card you used when enrolling with us (receipt attached). - Stacie Email AFTER all the Yelp and FaceBook complaints: In reviewing with webmaster today we recognize the different term on website as in the check off list and postings. My son has autism and I had tried several times over the years to get him driving. This time it took MONTHS of lessons with Bond Driving School and it did the trick. One thing I really loved was how easy it was to track his progress on their website, and the fact that they email and message you to remind you of when the lessons take place. You can also leave messages or make requests if there is a question or issue. Their drivers come to the house and pick you up and drop you off. My son is very anxious, and felt discouraged after trying to get his license so many times in the past. Their drivers were caring and considerate and exceptionally supportive. Needless to say, and after a couple of attempts, my son has his driver's license. It has given him new confidence and the sense that he can do anything. I'm so grateful to Bond Driving School for their incredible efforts on behalf of my son. read more

I did the drive test package for my daughter which included the use of their vehicle. I didn't catch the name of the gentleman who scheduled but he was very professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. My daughter had Robin as her instructor. I have to say Robin gave off such a good vibe. My daughter was so comfortable with her and honestly after being around her for two seconds so was I. You never know how good your neighbors are until they know something about giving you back your independence you didn't know was even available. In my case the neighbors knew about both the adaptive equipment that could be installed on my vehicle and the instruction course with expert facilitators who brought back my independence and happiness after my truck rolled atop me stayed there crushing my legs for nearly six hours in December 2018. A different neighbor came to my rescue and called for the assistance of the fire department & paramedics. My life and legs were saved by the neighbors, the fire department personnel who arrived to help, the paramedics and the medical team at Modesto Medical Center. After months in the hospital and physical therapy I can walk with a cane. Because of the first neighbors who I referred to earlier in my narrative, I was directed to Bond Rehabiatative Driving School to discuss the best curriculum and hours needed for me to become a good candidate to drive a car with the necessary equipment for me to rejoin the driving public. John was my instructor. He was knowledgeable, patient and kind. His expertise and guidance were priceless. I couldn't imagine anyone being a better instructor. After I finished my classes with Bond Rrehabilitative Driving School, I became eligible for my certificate of completion and for the installation of my hand controls. I couldn't be happier. I have my independence back. With time I will become a better driver than I was before my accident and even better than I was with my adaptive lessons. PSA for my fellow folks with disabilities! Bond is THE place to go to learn how to drive with hand controls. First, they offer two vehicles for people with disabilities: one is a red Prius with hand controls and the other is modified van, should you need to drive from your actual chair. And, they have EIGHT different models for controls, so you can find the one that works with your ability level. Second, John is a phenomenal driving instructor. He is very calm and collected. Never gets impatient. Never raises his voice. Is always willing to explain and answer questions. He never made me feel bad about any mistakes I made, no matter how many times I made them. He was never condescending. And he is hilarious! A great person just to converse with when your lesson isn't filled with driving talk. I got my license with 18 hours of instruction and I couldn't be more thankful to Bond for helping me make that happen! read more

We recently set out to find a driving school for our 18 year old granddaughter and googled 'driving schools near me'. The search returned 19 driving schools 'near' us. We pared the list down to six that were actually more 'near' us, and randomly called the first one. The response was less than professional, and not overly friendly in their approach. Same with the second and third, with a little rudeness thrown in by the third. Then, we called Bond. The response was night and day better than the prior experiences. Extremely professional, with total knowledge of all pricing and packages available. As our granddaughter had requested a female instructor, we inquired as to availability. The response was to suggest Robin as the instructor for our granddaughter. We took the 6 hour package (3 x 2 hrs) with Robin. We could not have been more satisfied with Robin! She was always on time and very positive and friendly. They had an instant rapport and Robin immediately reduced Haley's apprehension level to near zero. During the 6 hours Robin was patient, inspired confidence, and really developed Haley's skill level to the point I am very confident she will pass her test on the first try. We could not be pleased with Bond Driving School. As far as we are concerned, they are the best. read more
