At first everything was going well with Steven as my daughter's driving instructor. The instructor was abruptly changed to an older woman on my daughter last scheduled session.this was supposed to be the first lesson on the freeway and she was excited about completing her sessions. First thing that went wrong was the instructor contacted me the day of our appointment which was scheduled over a week in advance, and she requested that I leave work early so the session could take place a 2 instead of the original time of 3:30. I obliged just to be nice. I drove from Stockton to Sacramento at the meeting spot. She ended my daughters lesson 30 minutes early and never took her on the freeway, I immediately called her and asked why, she claimed that there was too much traffic but she insured me that my daughter drove safely and "beautifully" . I hung up and called the office to speak with the owner who was very unprofessional by suggesting I wasn't telling the full story and said he would offer another 30 minutes as a courtesy. After speaking with him then my daughter, I learned that not only did the instructor not take me daughter on the freeway but she also took a call and discussed rushing to meet her friend for plans that they had. My daughter was ripped off from what should have been a great ending to her training program all because the instructor wanted to rush back to her personal life and I'm upset because this isn't fair.no one has called me back even tho I was promised a follow up. Sadly we did not have a good experience. We had two instructors. The second one who ended up being the owner's wife drove my son to her house left him in the car while she went in to take care of personal business. She also ended the lesson 20 minutes early. I spoke to Manny and he said he would check with the driver and drivers sometimes needed to use the restroom. When I found out from my son that His wife actually told him that they were doing renovations on their house and she always needed to be there to give the workers. instructions. I left a message for Manny giving him these details asking for some credit. He never returned my calls. Under the circumstances super inappropriate. My daughter just finished her third lesson with Manny and I am so impressed with what a positive experience this has all been. The availability of appointments, communication with instructor (including great feedback on how she drove and what she needs to improve on), and quality fleet of cars make us really happy we went with them... especially because there as so many driving school choices. It was a no brainer for us to purchase the dmv package for her driving test as they essentially take her for me and provide the car, an additional hour of driving practice before the behind the wheel test to polish off skills. Review is based on scheduling and availability as daughter never got her first lesson. I paid ahead for 3 lessons on 10/16 $480. The first available appointment was 11/03. I wish I would have known prior to paying but went with it anyway. Most available were during school hours. A week before appt they asked to reschedule. In order to have her permit validated it would need to be signed so I decided to take time off work in order to take her out of school for the rescheduled drive lesson. The day of the lesson they cancelled 3 hours prior to her lesson. The drive instructor was sick, which I understand, however this was 3RD notice of changes and reschedule in the 3 weeks we waited around for appointment to begin with . I asked for a refund and went with another company where I got an appointment right away. This company wants $100 if you cancel within 48 hours but can't seem to keep their own scheduling organized. We are not happy with proccess and results of the training. One driver just sat on his place during 2 lessons and did not even gave any comments/advices about driving rules and etc. I am not sure that you need to spend money for full package cost 600+. read more

This is a great driving school! I personally took it and i enjoyed it. I has three different instructors- my first instructor was Don. Very sweet man. He is very smart in the art of driving. He was determined to have me master the basics of driving. Taught me a lot on my first day on driving. My second instructor- Steven was super cool. He was very funny and understanding. He was very chill. Steven knew what I needed to know and taught them to me. Very fun guy! My third and finally instructor- Ricky was very understanding. He was patient and told me what I was doing wrong. I enjoyed his teachings. He made me feel comfortable and i enjoyed that. Although I think the teachers are a great, there was this one incident caused me to be very confused. I went ahead and scheduled my lessons on the phone and had them set. I called in 2 days prior to my second lesson and told them I needed to switch my last lesson to the following day when it was supposed to be, in which the person over the phone did. I kept my second lesson on the same date but when it came to my second lesson I didn't get my lesson. I think they deleted one of my lessons so I had to call and place it for the next day. It was stressful. Just heads up for people. I took my driving test yesterday and passed! I still would recommend this place! The instructors are great and real teach you well. I took the DMV test today and passed. The instructions and tips were very helpful, I was able to pass all but one checkpoint, so 99%, yay! They also did a pick up and drop off, so everything was smooth. Definitely worth the money. read more

First let me say I'm one of the last non-driving people on the planet. Before calling them I really didn't see me driving. I've never driven or had a license. Sara is always so pleasent on the phone. Calls me back promptly. Listened to my needs and gave me a great instructor. Ashley was my instructor today,so patient with me and never made me feel rushed or stupid. Before getting my driver's license I had gotten driving lessons from Manish, the owner of local driving school and I couldn't be happier with my investment and what I learned. The entire staff is extremely nice. They are very patient and great at working with all kinds of customers. During my visits to the office, I say young kids to old people, some of whom could only speak Spanish or Hindi. Because of their diverse staff, everyone felt comfortable and signed up with them. The reason I'm actually writing the review is not just because they are great at what they do professionally, but also the mission that their company follows. They use sessions in school and a lot of online social media to promote good driving habits and are always trying to create awareness about laws and safety. My son had 3 lessons scheduled. The first two were as expected. The last lesson, a few days before his behind the wheel test, was rescheduled several times, only one call otherwise it was by email! The original time was 1330, my husband received a call, the only call, to change to 1300, ok, that's fine. Then via email moved the lesson to 1230, then again via email to 1830!!! We tried calling many times to figure what was going on, no answer. Tried calling the other locations they have listed, still No answer!!!! It was a day of waiting around and wondering, terrible communication. In the end, someone did show up at 1830. read more

Very happy with Local Driving Schools customer service! First, the owner answered the phone. I had called around to a few different schools and most schools either did not answer (leave a message) or I received a text message back after they did not answer -no one made direct verbal contact with me except Local Driving School. Second, the owner Mani accommodated our schedule and was able to give us a same day appointment -was not expecting such prompt service. The instructor showed up to our home within 30 minutes of scheduling! Mani also set up our online account and emailed me the link which was super easy. Local Driving School has been great for my daughter. I bought 10 hours of lessons to get her training started as soon as she got her permit. We didn't love our first instructor, so I called. The owner, Mani, took our feedback and assigned us another instructor who was a better fit. The lessons are comprehensive and our daughter is learning a lot. I'm glad I purchased more than the 4 hours required though.....I much prefer her learning with someone other than me!° read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. After researching driving schools, I found that this was the best priced. I called to book a session for my teenager earlier this afternoon. First, when they answered their phone, no one identified themselves as who they are, or who you are speaking with. I spoke with a woman, who said they charge $267 for a 6 hour session. She said I had to go online to book it. So I went online and the fee was $285, more than what I was quoted. So I called back and spoke with another woman. I let her know my issue with the pricing and she placed me on hold. I held on for 18 MINUTES. She never even checked on me. So, obviously I hung up and called back. The next women who answered I purposely asked her name, it was Eliza, then she quickly placed me on hold before I could say anything. Then she disconnected the call! At this point, I am done with this company. But I want to let a supervisor know how ridiculous his employees are who answer phones. I called back again, asked the woman's name, this time it was Michelle. I asked to speak with a supervisor. She said, there are no supervisors here. She never even offered any empathy or asked if there was anything she could help me with. I then asked when a supervisor would be there or who I could report and complaint to. She told me to try tomorrow. I asked her supervisor's name, she said Manish. I am so saddened that with this day in age people cannot use proper phone etiquette or customer service skills. I really hope the business owner reads this post and trains his people properly because he has, and will lose a lot of customers as a result of this terrible service. read more
