Our son did his online drivers education & behind the wheel (BTW) with Allstars Driving. I will absolutely recommend them to everyone and anyone looking for a program for their child. For online education, my son experienced a "system glitch," and he couldn't get his finalized certificate of completion. Problem is - this is my first time doing this so I had no idea that we couldn't just show the completion from the phone, as it required a physical certificate. When I contacted ADS, morning of permit test, Wendy instantly jumped in and printed the completion certificate (typical 5-7 business days via mail) and made it available for pickup within 20 minutes. Definitely put my panicking mama brain at ease! Fast forward to his last BTW being this Sunday, which is scheduled months in advance to ensure timely completion. We experienced a death in the family, and the memorial was also scheduled for Sunday. Make the call to ADS to see if we could reschedule, and there was no availability. I did my best keeping it together, but ultimately ended up sharing the details about why we needed to reschedule. Wendy instantly went from already amazing customer service to being a sincerely concerned and compassionate human being. I left that call reassured that she would do her best to contact me if anything changed or an opening became available. Wendy called me the next day confirming that she had a cancellation for another location that we could take. It wasn't a simple reschedule either, as she would have to reprint completion certificate, coordinate pick up/drop off with driver, and more. We gratefully took the appointment. We are so appreciative of Wendy for the amazing customer service throughout this process. I am grateful that she took the time to show human kindness and going above and beyond to show she cared. Ps. I had 3 driving lessons with a dude named Adam. First of all, he's super annoying with no chill. Secondly, he gave me uncomfortable vibes. The lady who I called to make an appointment with was really rude. I tried to ask if i could change my instructor but the say "every area gets assigned a different instructor" showing no flexibility. Also, for my last lesson, the dude was sick with the flu and coughing majority of the lesson. He also blasted the AC.. I had the flu for a few days after. Overall, don't recommend driving instructor named Adam. My friends were in the same school but with different instructors and their experience was great. Hate that I got so unlucky.. read more

Having taken behind-the-wheel courses through Allstars many years ago, I was excited for my younger brother to have a similarly positive experience. Unfortunately, his experience didn't live up to those expectations. To start on a positive note, his first and last lessons with Michael--in a red Honda--were exceptional. Michael created a calm, comfortable, and safe learning environment, which helped build confidence behind the wheel. However, the second lesson, with an instructor named Adam Christinson (spelling may be incorrect) in a hybrid vehicle, was disappointing. Despite being told upfront that the lesson plan would include residential driving for the first lesson, freeway driving in the second, and a mock driving test for the third, freeway instruction never happened. Adam was strongly opposed to taking him on the freeway, and no other instructor covered it either. As a result, my brother completed all three lessons without once getting freeway experience. Given that freeway driving is a critical skill in California, I would suggest looking into other driving schools if you're hoping for a more comprehensive behind-the-wheel education. read more

I have used this driving school for three children. Dwight has actually driven all three of them for the 6 hours they needed. They are super polite, the most economical for what you get, and they pick up from school or home if you need them. My two boys are excellent drivers, and I know my youngest will be also after using all stars! I cannot say enough good things about this driving school! Highly recommend! My son is autistic and struggles with anxiety. We had signed him up for lessons and then he realized his anxiety was going to prevent him from driving. I reached out to the school and they refused to refund me. I offered to get them a note from my son's doctor and they still refused me a refund. I am very disappointed. It's a medical matter and I had hoped they would understand that putting my son in the driver's seat while he struggles with his autism and anxiety would not be safe for him, them or for others on the road. Not special needs friendly and refused ANY refund even though they did nothing at all for my son. read more

Our daughter wasn't given priority for rescheduling. We had an appointment scheduled for the day they closed. They never offered to follow up and help us with our canceled appointment. The dmv automatically rescheduled my daughter's appointment for the next following Saturday. We called the school to schedule her 3rd and last lesson and they told us they could not get her in and said they were booked for 2 weeks in advance. She has been waiting almost 3 months and no one gave a follow up call. We were left on our own to figure all of this out. They should have set priority for the students had their lesson canceled especially since Hers was canceled the same day. I tried for them to refund me the difference and of course they were not willing to do it! I'll never use them again. read more

We had a great experience with Allstar! Mike Terry is an amazing instructor and Mike (one of the owners) was so great taking my daughter to her test today and calming her nerves before the driving test! SHE PASSED!!! She learned so much from them. I was such a nervous wreck teaching my kids how to drive, so I'm so grateful for Allstar and their calm, knowledgeable instructors! Not the best, not the worst. Pros: affordable, they keep their appointments, they show up to your house on time, easy to communicate with (especially the office staff). Cons: the instructors are somewhat unprofessional. I had Aref for the first two lessons, and he was decent until he started laughing hysterically at me for not understanding the point of straight-line backing. That was pretty weird. My third lesson consisted more of James ranting about his political views than telling me how to pass my driving test. I failed my first drive test with 17 errors (but if they'd quizzed me on James's thoughts on gun control, then I would've passed with flying colors). I barely scraped by on my second attempt, with 15 errors. So if you're keeping score... that's not great. I don't regret getting the lessons. They were helpful enough. But, I ended up not getting my license until I was 18 because I didn't feel confident, and so I didn't need the lessons anyway. My overall impression of Allstars? Meh. read more

Very poor customer service. Website is antiquated. Difficult for even teens to use. Confusing, poorly designed. They seem to not have enough driving teachers for the amount of students they take on and always have some excuse as to why they are not able to provide the services paid for on a timely basis. They are backward in technology. No communication through texts or email about appointments or scheduling. It's 2020, get up to date. Scheduling with them is a nightmare!! Hard to get a word in edgewise. Always with the excuses. The time we did get to drive, the driving instructor was kind, and professional. Over all experience is poor. Dwight is the instructor for the Auburn area amd he is awesome - super calming and supportive. This is our second time using All Stars and both of my nieces used them as well, with Dwight at the helm. They are a great price, very accommodating, and most of all reliable! Not the best of experiences in customer service I've had, but not the worst either.. unfortunately it's hit and miss.. sometimes the secretary is pleasant and others she's condescending and irritable. My bigger frustration was more to do with the fact that they accept students who live in Eldorado county but they aren't allowed to drive there. To pick up NOR train..So, your kid can't learn to drive in the hills where they are gonna take the drivers test at?? How dumb is that! From my very first call to the school, I was impressed by the professionalism and friendliness of the front-line staff at the reception desk. I rarely give 5 stars on these sites, but allstars was awesome to work with. Not only I have twin girls learning how to drive, but they gave me a suggestion to which DMV office to use for the driving test. We went to the auburn DMV instead of rocklin. One of my girls passed with near perfect score. My other daughter is still in process. You need a flexible schedule cause they are doing their best to work around the busy season such as winter break, spring break and summer, when kids are out of school, plan ahead. read more

I recently had a very uncomfortable situation with Allstars Driving School. They made a mistake on our appointment day and showed up on a day that my son was on pain killers from having his wisdom teeth out. When I called to reschedule they said it was impossible that it was their error and it must have been mine and I had to pay again. My suggestion is to have them send you a written confirmation of the time of your appointment. That way if there is an error it can be resolved. They have a "tough luck too bad for you" attitude when it comes to customer service and know every loop hole there is to squeeze as much money as they can out of the consumer. The driver was 30 minutes late for my son's first driving lesson. When I asked about the make up time that I am paying for they said they could credit the last two driving lessons with 15 min each. The second lesson cam e and went with 1 minutes added on. Today is his last driving lesson and when I called to confirm about the 15 minutes added on they have no record of it. The receptionist told me that they had on the first lesson that my son had to be somewhere so the lesson was cut short by 15 minutes. The documentation was even incorrect on their part. They were suppose to pick him up at Rocklin High School and instead called me to say they were running 15 minutes late. When 15 minutes late came by the Driver showed up at my house. So I sent him to the high school, by that time he was 30 minutes late. I am not impressed at all, I do not recommend them. I do give them credit for arranging their last scheduled lesson a few days prior to his license test. read more

I called back a few hours after making my sons appt for BTW training on the SAME day to change it, and there was a $20 fee! They DID NOT give me the form DMV needed for my son to take his test and I had to drive over there to get it, and THEY CHARGED ME ANOTHER $20!!! We used Allstars for the second and had another great experience. The staff was very helpful in juggling schedules to get our kids booked and knowledgeable on the process and requirements. We happened to get Jeff for both my son and daughter. He was great! Both kids said that he was calm and explained things in a manner that made it easy for them to understand. A fantastic driving school. Produced many successful and safe drivers. Affordable training, and great technique.

Horrible customer service. They did a bad job training my daughter to drive on her first lesson compared to the other company we used. I told them I'd tell the charter schools not to use them and she bragged well we do a lot of business with the schools. These lessons are $300 and they don't want to put a good effort in. They said, right before my kid's second lesson that it expired when her first lesson was only about 5 months ago. No one said anything to use to not bother because she would never even get her next two lessons. They say there is an expiration date, but never bothered to say anything when they told us to schedule the next one in three or four months. They easily could do this but instead they know they have you over a barrel. I would not suggest anyone send their kid to this driving school. There are better out there. read more

I don't know what everyone is complaining about. We were referred by a friend who had a great experience and passed her exam easily. We also have had a great experience every time we call customer service and the instructor (Paul I believe) has been very helpful! The scheduling is designed to work with the practice hours the child is doing at home, so maybe not wait until the last minute because the permit process takes a while to complete regardless. read more

This place is awesome! I had the instructor named John, and I told him flat out that I had no idea what I was doing. He was calm and helpful, telling me in advance what was happening and going to happen. He told me all the things to practice for the test, what I needed to work on, etc. We drove 36 miles without any problems! I was blown away with his teaching. I highly recommend this school to ANYONE looking to learn how to drive, they are so fantastic! Definitely telling friends about it :) read more

After seeing their cars all the time in the area, I figured I couldn't go wrong with this company. Glad I was right. I talked with Valerie and she was more than helpful explaining the program and I loved that they wanted to spread the lessons out instead of doing them back to back. The instructor, Dwight, arrived on time and the vehicle was clean and appeared to be maintained. Felt totally comfortable with my girl out driving with him. She came back pumped after her lesson and I actually felt comfortable driving with her afterwards. I would definitely recommend them to all teens needing lessons! Best part is, the driving test was passed and we now have a licensed driver.....and it didn't cost us an arm and a leg! read more
