I'm so glad I enrolled with Aim!!! Sam, the owner and driving instructor made my whole experience unforgettable. He is very professional, knowledgeable and knows how to teach. His approach is so straight forward. I'm a highly anxious person and don't do very well with instructors who couldn't regulate their emotions so driving next to him feels like you're driving with a friend. You feel relaxed the whole time cause he's so CALM. He has answers for all your questions too. I've been with other instructors with other schools and so far he's the BEST. His techniques are easy to understand and that's the main reason I passed the test after failing 3x. He cares about you passing the test by actually teaching you how to be a good driver. For the third lesson he stopped answering. Based on multiple reviews, other people had exactly the same issue. Needless to say, that "Ricky" did't teach anything during these lessons. Owner Sukhjit Singh operates A 1 Driving School and other driving schools under different names in Alameda County, including AIM Driving School and Safe Drivers School. County records show about 10 businesses registered by the same owner, including several driving schools (three currently active and two expired). AIM driving school has very bad driving instructors and do not teach kids correct techniques. They don't bother to take students on the freeway, yet alone don't even teach basics such as parallel parking, no hand signals, and no reversing. Google reviews are fake, dont get tricked based on their 4.8 starts on google. Google will give priority to people who pay them rather than provide community service. AIM don't use paperwork, no contracts, no formal communications, no appointment will be made for the student unless you stay on top of every thing after paying big bucks. AIM increase prices in between the sessions, due to unknown reasons, so not having paperwork helps them. I do not recommend this driving school at all. Very unprofessional and lack of communication from Sam who runs this place. I read other negative reviews about this driving school today which I should have done before signing up my teen and I totally agree with the unhappy customers.Sam never gets back to his customers in a timely manner to make appt or answer any calls whereas on his company voicemail states to send message and someone will call back. And guess what we have to be the ones calling him again to follow up. There are other better and professional driving schools in our area which might charge a little extra but totally unworthy to sign up with Aim Driving School. If "0" were a possibility this is what I would give. If you set up with them just make sure you DO NOT pay in advance! We initiated driving lessons back in June. After the initial lesson my daughter asked if we could find a new instructor because the guy was on the phone throughout her lesson. I had already paid in full for 3, 2 hour lessons and didn't want the hassle so I kept them. Now here is what scheduling the next two lessons looked like: Sept. 26 contacted them (call/voicemail and text message) and they did not respond until the 27th with what I thought was a scheduled driving lesson but they didn't confirm nor did they pick her up for the driving lesson. October: I make another attempt to schedule and this is what happened: they were closed due to Covid exposure and couldn't schedule. *I get it, you're in close contact with student drivers, but I also assumed they would contact me when they get back in the office, or maybe schedule an appointment out? November: 29th, I message/call to schedule and no response. Nov. 30 I do not receive a response. December: 4th: no response; 5th they responded only because I asked for a refund. They called immediately after I sent a message asking for the refund. I told them clearly, both over the phone and via text message that her test is on the 17th and they said they would accommodate it. She FINALLY got her second driving lesson on the December 5th. ***I assumed they had scheduled the third lesson at the second lesson because this is what we agreed on. December 11: I messaged to schedule a 3rd lesson because her test is on Friday and If they were unable to accommodate her I need to contact another school. I received an immediate response to scheduling the 3rd lesson, but their response was "we don't have any available". They offered to have my high school aged daughter miss school for a two hour lesson. Seriously: miss school because they couldn't keep track of their clients, commitments, messages, and schedules. When I asked for a refund they said they do not give refunds. He then proceeded to tell me he was driving. Was he with a student? I don't know. I lost my cool during my last phone interaction because they tried to place blame on me for not scheduling sooner. I have been trying for months to get all lessons in. I won't accept blame for their mistakes but now I am having to reel the consequences for their unprofessional management of the business. My daughter s lessons were 4.5 hrs, I paid for 6 hours, first lesson he was on time and 2 hrs, second lesson was late 15 min and finished the lesson 15 earlier wanting to sign her off because she is a good driver, I said no, so the third lesson he only did 1hr. And did not gave me any reason why or a feedback on the test practice. Even though I was outside my house, he drop off my daughter and drove off. Never took her on the freeway! Bottom line is, even if other schools are a little bit more expensive, do yourself a favor and GO ELSEWHERE, AIM will only take your money and will not deliver the 6 full hours. The only reason I gave 1 star is because 0 is not available. The only time they provide a decent service is during the 1st lesson because that's when they get paid. Poor quality business. Sam is ver unprofessional. He demanded full pay the first day, then showed up 2 hours late. He didn't show up the next day like he was supposed to. Rescheduled (after constantly begging), 10 days from when he did not show up. In said day he had confirmed a day before that he would show up on appointment time , 2 hours before my appointment he texts saying he was going to be 2 hours late and still did not show up ! So at this point, I decided I didn't want his services any more and I liter had to beg for my money back, which he didn't give until I mentioned that I was going to small claims court. My only interaction with this driving school was when an instructor (alone in the car) was driving slow in the left non-carpool driving lane with nobody in front. There are many reasons you can look up on why this is a bad idea, including the "SLOWER TRAFFIC KEEP RIGHT" signs all along the highway... and this was an instructor? This company deserves 0 stars, 1 is too much. Sam was a decent Instructor, according to my son. Not a lot of critiquing was given however so I feel my son is not getting the lessons needed to be a safe driver. No feedback was given to parent afterwards for what to work on. So far we've completed 2 of 3 teen driver sessions. Both times he was about 20 minutes late, yet he still ended on time. (You pay for 6 hours so if the trend continues we will end up getting 5) . They do not schedule the next appointment. They are unorganized and unprofessional and just plain rude, especially whoever answers the phone. That guy is a real jacka$$. So I am military stationed in GA and I sent my oldest son to California to help my elderly parents until he leaves for boot camp himself. I called and scheduled for my son to get his hour in so he can get his license to reduce the social contact for my parents. I intentionally scheduled him for an early time slot so he would not have to drive at night being that he does not have any experience. They called my father INSTEAD of me to reschedule to another day and a later time 5:30 pm. This worried me because the instruction is for 2 hours which would cut it close with daylight. So 5:45 comes around and they still have not shown up to pick up my son. I called to question what was happening and was told " oh yeah we will be there in like 7 minutes we had a flat tire". While I heard children In the background which leads me to believe that they were not almost to my parents house and maybe not even in the car yet. I asked why they did not call my father to let him know they were running late and was told "he had my number why didn't he call me?" I told him " well I Am his mom and I am the one who scheduled this and who is paying for it. " he did not have an answer. Wow really?!?!?! Then I told them they need to reschedule for another day and and earlier time. They wanted to reschedule for the next day at 7 am. I decline because I did not have faith that they would actually be there and on time so I did not want to wake my parents and my son up that early just for them to possibly no show AGAIN. He then wanted to push back ANOTHER 5 days and at 4 pm. I informed him that I was stationed in GA and did not know what time it gets dark in California and really did not want him to drive at night. I was told that it didn't get dark until 7:30. I initially agreed but called back 5 minutes later to cancel all together. The person I dealt with today was rude and had a cocky attitude. This company did offer me a $10 discount for Being military which I appreciate but other than that, I did not have a good experience dealing with them at all. Sam at AIM driving school is a great driving instructor to young teen/any new driver. He was very patient with my daughter and she passed her behind the wheel with no problems whatsoever. He was very attentive to our needs and meeting us at times that suited us best. In the end he went out of his way to meet with us so she could get her driving test completed and we really appreciated all the great customer service and knowledge you gave. Great driving school, gave a lot of great tips and explained what to expect for drivers license test

I don't usually write reviews but given our experience & the unprofessionalism of (Sam) & Aim driving school all together I felt the need to write one. If I could give ZERO stars I would. In September I paid in full for 6 hours of lessons for my teen driver. We were scheduled for 6-8pm on his 1st lesson, at 6:15 I called (Sam) to ask if he was still coming, He said he would be here soon. 10 minutes go by and he finally shows up. He then dropped my son off 15 minutes early totally a 1hr and 20minute lesson. He did not schedule the next lesson. I then called him the next day to schedule his next lesson. On the day of lesson 2 My son took it upon himself to cancel the lesson because he couldn't find his permit. I was out of town at the tie and unaware. (In my opinion Sam should have confirmed the cancellation with me)A good business would reschedule right away. This was not the case! I Called several times week after week to schedule his 2nd lesson and each time Sam said they were booked up and to call back. Finally I got him a 2nd lesson but again Sam showed up 15 minutes late an dropped him off 10 minutes early. (Mind you ur Ring Cameras show his vehicle each time he arrived) At this point my son is is 2hrs & 45 minutes into his 6 Hours I paid for. Mys on came in the house flashing a yellow paper signed by sam stating he has successfully completed 6 hours of instructor led behind the wheel training. Furthermore Sam told my son he passed and a 3rd lesson was not needed. I was happy for my sons excitement but I called Sam the next day and told him this was not ok and that he needed to make up the rest of the time (2 hours & 15 minutes) He did not hesitate to schedule and said he would be here TODAY between 5:30 & 6pm. My son got off work early to be here for his final lesson before he takes his dmv test November 30th. Sam did not call nor did he show. 6:15 rolls around and I call and am told that they cancelled all lessons for yesterday and today. My husband immediately took the phone and told him we want our money back & that this whole process has been completely unprofessional. We are giving them the opportunity to remedy the situation by refunding us at least half our money by Friday or we are taking EVERY legal avenue against Sam & Aim driving school. My so does not feel confident in passing his driving test. Do not go thru this company for your teens lessons and if you must.....Do not pay in full at the time of the first lesson. read more

By far the cheapest of all the driving schools I inquired from, but as they say, you get what you pay for. I enrolled my wife here a couple months back. Made the full payment on the first lesson for a total of three (3) lessons. Never followed up with us. Whenever I reached out, Sam was always "fully booked" or had "a lot of other students". It took more than 3 months from the day we enrolled to finish all the lessons which were supposed to be 2 hours each. Each lesson he cut it short by at least 15 minutes because he "had other appointments ". Subpar teaching, didn't even teach my wife how to park till the last half hour or so of the last lesson. Forced a driving exam appointment on us that we didn't even approve of. Pro tip: go somewhere else with your money. Owner was rude and unprofessional to say the least. If giving zero stars were an option, that's what he would get. One star is much too generous read more
